Would not recommend. The estimator will agree to take most items except chemicals or flammable stuff. Understandable. When the truck arrives and Norm is your driver, all bets are off. He walked up the drive and started pointing to items and said "not taking that" before even introduced himself. Refused to have workers take items to attic even though while loading items clearly marked attic to go to new place he observed. Once at new place refused to have things taken to attic saying unsafe WITHOUT even looking in attic. Attic is fully floored we have no basement. Told us the way we packed items was terrible and if we were in the military we would be fired???? WTH?? Chose to pack our own vs paying 50$!a box. Norm was a very abrasive and lacks customer skills. If the was the ability to put negative stars I certainly would. I cannot stress enough not to use these people. As soon as they picked up our items they were a nightmare to work with. Sales estimator didn't explain what I'd refer to as the "small print" they lost multiple items, but seeing it was packed by us they refuse any liability, our treadmill arrived damaged we were told to submit a claim, unit was too old to get parts for so we replaced it, then they refused the claim, stating that they needed to inspect it at no time during the conversation was that mentioned. They off loaded items that we told them were not ours they didn't care said it had our numbers on it. Advised the office of the items if someone else may be looking for them, they didn't care. Took a check for storage for 6+ months, day of the delivery we're informed cash or money order or no delivery. Hi, I've used Lippincott 3 times. The 3rd time was terrible. We were paying $270/month for climate controlled/professional storage for my dad. His restoration hardware leather sofas came back completely ruined, with mold, water stains and all they offered was $75 in compensation. What a complete joke. If your considering Lippincott, pay for the premium replacement value insurance as it was pretty evident once in storage, they don't pay any attention to the quality of their storage. They LOST our 2.5 year old $3000 couch and offered us "peanuts" for it. Never an apology or verbal acceptance of blame. We had several pieces damaged, including the matching love seat. We filed a damage report, discovered more damage and were basically told "too bad, only ONE report can be filed". We put our belongings in storage with Lippincott Van Lines. While everything went well in the planning stages once we were stored it went down hill. We moved to SC in search for a new home. We had been told by the manager we needed to give 3weeks notice to get our property delivered. I did just that and was told that I "misunderstood ".....she said 6 weeks. We were left in an empty house for 3 weeks and were told in an email that if we weren't happy we could get someone else to deliver. When we did get our property an antique chair was crushed, 3 wardrobe boxes were crushed, a small ottoman had a broken leg, the piano was damaged and our dining room hutch was chipped. We have been sent paperwork to report the damage but we're told it would be months before it would even be reviewed since there are many ahead of us with complaints. The guys who picked up our furniture and the ones who delivered were excellent. The office staff at Lippincott in Winsted Ct were rude and sarcastic. This company has been terrible every step of the way. The day they were supposed to move us the driver didn't show up. No on eleven called us. They late came the next day. Nearly all of our furniture is damaged, they LOST our mattresses so we have had to sleep on air mattresses for weeks. They wrote on the inventory that furniture we only had for one month was already scratched worn and dented just to try to cover themselves. They are the worst. NEVER use this company! read more

Problem: The mover damaged more than $16,000 of household goods, many pieces are new. The mover blamed me because: They say maybe the new furniture was damaged when I bought it, or their warehouse men damaged it, or I did not properly supervise the loading and packing and allowed their employees to improperly handle/pack my property. They did not pack/box several items that were then damaged. They lost parts to a 200 pound marble table and left it upside down in my dining room, said I should submit a written claim to reach resolution on what to do with table. Refused to move it to my storage room. Bill of lading notes indicated damage to every pice of my furniture when picked up, which is a lie. Many pieces were brand new. I would not recommend Lippincott to anyone. My furniture was picked up August 20 and not received until September 9! I should have known this would not be a good experience when they knocked down a wire on my house in the first 10 minutes. Their penalty for late delivery was $300 on a $5,000 bill. We used Lippincott to move us back in 2013. First, I fully understand this is 2017. I am expecting NOTHING in return but to put it out there how terrible this moving company is. We had a $500 deductible on insurance that we took out from them. I had many discussions with not only the sales Rep but the actual movers about a delicate, handmade large and very heavy cabinet. Basically I DID NOT WANT IT DAMAGED. Our belongings were put into the truck and taken to storage for a few days and brought to our home to be unloaded. Again, I reminded them about the importance of being very careful. Guess what, after it was brought into our home, we noticed the next day the top molding was damaged and cracked. I contacted them but knowing that the $150 repair was not going to be covered because of the deductible, we paid for it ourselves but did notify them immediately. Fast forward to today, Nov 15 2017. Two days ago we go downstairs to set up a large treadmill that was also moved. It was folded and has remained, unused in the same place where the movers put it back in 2013. My husband opens it to get it started and noticed that ALL the circuit board wires were hanging, obviously ripped out. It too was damaged and is not usable. I contacted the Customer Service Manager at Lippincott today. Jessica kept trying to put the blame and responsibility back on me. I explained it is virtually impossible to check thousands of items that are moved. This treadmill was almost $900 back a few years ago. Unless it was moved and unfolded, the damage would never have been seen. She kept trying to blame me for not notifying them of the damage and I told her that unless the repairs were for the $500 WE would have had to pay for them anyway. We ended up in a yelling match over the phone. A very unprofessional employee who was so disrespectful. I would NEVER EVER call these guys again, EVER. And Jessica, get some manners and show some professionalism. I did explain I wasn't looking for anything just wanted to complain about how expensive the move was to have items damaged. I can only speak to their work as a transportation service provider for the military. If you are in the military and this company comes up as your TSP, head over to the transportation office and request a change. They subcontract to incompetent packers who fail to follow the most basic packing & loading procedures such as inventorying all items, wrapping furniture, packing fragile items in boxes (not in furniture), and placing dividers between the items of different families. Their subcontractor (EDC Moving) who packed us out brought children to our home, changed the dates on us, and caused us to be late departing because they failed to adequately plan our pack out. Their dispatcher tried to tell us that we were not authorized a wooden crate for a fragile item after the army had already paid for it. To add insult to injury, after the movers damaged our son's crib before leaving our original location, they lost a piece so it could not be reassembled upon delivery. Then, the company they subcontract through to handle claims, National Claims Service, told us that our son's crib was not a priority and he "must be sleeping somewhere." Despite the military's full replacement value policy that protects service members from the unscrupulous actions of some moving companies, this company's subcontractor is insisting on replacing our Kirby vacuum with an older, refurbished model so that all of the attachments that did arrive will now be useless to us. They are also blaming us for EDC packing items into furniture and refusing to take responsibility for lost items. There were a few large pieces of furniture that the movers picked up from a restoration shop, but failed to inventory. We notified the company within 48 hours of them leaving (before we received our items) to say that there was a problem with the inventory. They are still denying responsibility to damage to these items because there is no inventory number. The only positive from this move was the drop-off crew. They were actually pretty good and tried their best to not cause further damage. read more

We picked this company particularly because we grew up in Winsted, CT and wanted to support a home town company that we were familiar with. RUN don't walk away from these movers!! Here are some of the lowlights: * their cost estimate was over 35% under * we showed multiple workers our most expensive items hoping they would take special care of them but instead, they suspiciously failed to inventory said items and SHOCKER those items never arrived - no inventory - no claim - convenient! Despite having an itemized list they claim no knowledge of our items - estimated loss between $2000-3000!!! * they insisted on receipts for lost or damaged items. Do you have a receipt from a precious wedding gift, an item you have had for 40 years or a childhood item? Seriously???!!! * they subcontracted their driver who damaged several items which he said he would fix or compensate for them and never did * when we would complain to Joei about certain employees, she claimed she does not know them *when we complained about lost and damaged items - her responsive was "well, they should not even have packed those items" - well, they did!! *our first complaint letter immediately after moving? - NO RESPONSE Disappointed is an understatement here. They had a chance here to do the right thing and not only did they refuse but they argued and made every interaction difficult!! SHAME! read more

This was the worst moving experience we've ever had... and we've used this company before and we've moved with other companies. The driver made the move the absolute worst. At one point, he told me we needed to lighten our load because his next pickup was bigger than they expected and he needed the room. He also had the audacity to complain about his job to me because "he's not a road dog anymore" and yell at me multiple times and try to treat me as if I worked for him. We're paying thousands of dollars to a company to move our house across country and you're complaining to me about your job? Awesome... I've contacted the front office multiple times, in detail of what he's said and things he's done (such as kick our dogs stairs as he's about to bring them to the truck) and they're siding with the driver with no customer service. We used Lippincott in early May 2013. They also moved the people whose house we bought on a referral from us. During our walk-through, the day of our closing, we noticed two very large and deep scratches on the hardwood floor caused by Lippincott. The previous home owner had alerted us to the scratches and made a claim with Lippincott prior to our closing to document the problem (Lippincott admits liability). Here we are 10 months later with no resolution. Lippincott has washed their hands free of the situation and provided zero customer service. They were great when it came to obtaining our business and collecting our money. They have been totally and completely absent when it comes to satisfying the customer on the back end.
