I worked with Dr. Lipman back in December 2022 as I was dealing with an eczema/psorasis skin condition that my regular physician failed to treat. After sitting down for a consultation with Dr. Lipman for an hour with his nutritionist staff, I was given a recommended elimination diet that would isolate the allergens/food sensitivities that may have been affecting my health at the time. My diet consisted of grain-free, dairy-free, low sugar, whole food meals with lots of water and 18 hours of fasting each day. I also took the recommended omega-3, collagen, and vitamin D/k-2 supplements for 2 months and before I submitted blood work 4 weeks after my initial consultation. After 8 weeks I checked in with a follow up Zoom call to get my blood work results collected from the month prior. My skin cleared up dramatically and I never experienced the dry patches of eczema again. With the daily fasting and improved diet, my blood glucose levels lowered and it was easy to stay within 12% body fat for most of the winter. 3 years later I've relaxed my diet to include the foods that I enjoy from time to time and I still have great results. Dr. Lipman will evaluate your condition and give you recommendations that will get to the root cause and avoid any allopathic medications that standard physicians will offer you. Naturopathic modalities are the best for healing and I will continue to use his advice to maintain my health. He gave me his book New Rules on How to Age Well after our initial consultation. I learned how to stay active more throughout the day with consistent daily walking and how to avoid added processed sugars/additives from snacks or drinks. Walking barefoot and grounding was new to me as well and I picked it up as a part of my lifestyle routines, along with daily meditation and breath work. You should definitely take a look at his book beforehand if you're considering a consultation with him at his clinic. read more

Dr. Lipman changed my life 17 years ago. It was the best I ever looked or felt. I moved home for a few years to help care for a sick relative. I wasn't taking care of myself and gained over 100 lbs. my knees were always in pain, I was tired, depressed, I wasn't living anymore, just existing. I could not break the cycle of eating poorly and feeling bad. I tried everything else but I knew deep down that I had to get back to Dr. Lipman, which I finally did almost a month ago. Since I started the cleanse, my energy is back, 3 days into the cleanse, my knee pain disappeared. Anyone that is sick and tired of being sick and tired, Dr. Lipman is my recommendation for finding your best, healthy self. read more

It's basically a diet clinic. For $1000,- he sees you for an hour, to listen to you what your symptoms are. Then he prescribes you his very basic cleanse and promises you that he will get to the bottom of whatever it is that's bothering you. He then sends you next door to see his nutritionists, who basically take over. Never followed up. At least not with me. After being on his diet, my symptoms got worse and I called to get advice. He came back to me via email, saying I have a vitamin D deficiency. I was puzzled by that, since he had my blood work and I knew from my doctor that my vitamins D levels have always been sufficient. When I emailed this back to him, he said it might have to do with my thyroid and told me to take another supplement. Very disappointing experience. read more

After going through the overwhelming 'lifestyle/diet' in the book '10 Reasons you feel Old and get Fat', all I can say is that this Doctor must think only wealthy people have the right to be healthy, considering the 'diet' recommendations consist of foods that no average person can purchase on a regular basis, and whose lifestyles would probably not be able to follow any of the time consuming 'health plans' he espouses. read more

Heard from a podcast he is taking virtual appointments. The experience of even booking an appointment was so unprofessional I am unsure if it's a con-site! Someone named 'Vicky' sent me another patients HIPAA forms which I believe is a violation of that patients privacy rights. When I called to speak to an office manager and to make sure it was a real business, Vicky answered ;I could barely understand her. I hung up and that was that! This is supposed to be a top functional medicine doc but at $600 a visit I have no faith in this practice. Very poor first impression. read more

I brought my daughter to see Dr Lipman this past week. She had been seeing another doctor, and had extensive blood work done but no diagnosis or conclusion could be found for her illness. Exasperated and frustrated, we found Dr Lipman from a friend's referral. Dr Lipman sat and listened to her symptoms and history, and then concluded the cause of her issues. He then immediately called the office of a specialist in the illness he suspected, and helped us make an appointment right away. It turned out Dr Lipman was 100% right in his diagnosis, with the confirmation of tests from the specialist. We are so grateful for Dr Lipman's observation and professional advice. He was not only helpful, kind and reassuring, but also very thoughtful in helping us with the appointment with specialist. He even asked us to come back for a follow up after the confirmation without extra charge. I would highly recommend Dr Lipman and his nutritionist Dawn. He does not just look at the symptoms, but at the whole body and mind which is exactly what you should expect from a MD with empathy and professionalism. Thank you Dr Lipman, we are really grateful for your help. read more

Lipman is the closest thing to a quack Dr I have ever seen in the Functional Medicine world. I spent $500 on an office visit with 2 followups and he had absolutely nothing to say regarding any diagnosis. In fact, the only tests he ordered was a basic blood test. He never responded to my emails and when I did finally speak with him he suggested I see an associate in his office for food allergies. He never followed up with those findings but was more than happy to push his products on me which had nothing to do with my condition. He has a newsletter which is maybe the only beneficial part of his practice. Just because he has some famous friends who might or might not be his real patients doesn't make him an effective Dr. of any kind. Don't waste your money!! read more

Dr Lipman is a nice guy, but he's really more of a 'celebrity' doctor than a real one- a look at the testimonials on his website confirm that he enjoys promoting himself as health guru to the stars. His approach is formulaic. I went to him because I was dealing with ME/CFS and was advised by friends that functional medicine could help. First appointment, he sat down with me with a nutritionist, and tsk tsk'ed as I told him about my diet. He never conducted a physical exam. I changed my diet, bought and used his protein powders, and did some of the exercise he suggested, all to no effect. In fact the exercise only triggered post exertional malaise. He had me come in for acupuncture one time, then shrugged when I told him that I didn't feel any differently afterwards. He had blood tests done, and concluded that I must have had Lyme disease. At that point he had me work with a pharmacist who prescribed antibiotics. After no improvement in (and in fact a worsening of) my symptoms after a month on antibiotics he told me to just work with the pharmacist and I never met with him again. The pharmacist is an awfully nice guy, but was of no help. He basically gave up. Never suggested that perhaps the antibiotics may have screwed up my microbiome. If you want to mingle with models in the waiting area and need to lift your mood or clean up your diet, and don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on his shakes and supplements, then Lipman's your man. If you have a serious medical condition that requires a well thought out plan of treatment, run away as fast as you can. Lipman will not help you. read more

What a really horrible experience I had with Dr. Lipman today. He used to be a great doctor. Since he's written his books and has different people working in his office, he is just running a factory/business now. I arrived 5 minutes late, was pushed into a room and told to lie down. I wanted to talk with him about my terrible back pain and he would just not give me the time. He pressed my back in a few places, stuck 5-6 needles in and then added a few to the side of my leg. He told me a should have gotten deep tissue work. Why am i seeing a doctor for acupuncture and he's telling me i should get deep tissue work. What a ridiculous thing to say! He came back after twenty minute and then told me i should see his physical therapist in his office. Why am i spending $250 to see him and now i should pay him and see his P/E. We didn't even have a chance to talk or discuss anything when he ran out of the room, leaving two needles in my leg. I had to scream for him to come back and he ran out again. I couldn't even get off the table and was practically in tears as i made my way to the front desk. The receptionist who is very sweet saw i was upset and i told her what had happened. Lipman came over and said there's the physical therapist (who was on her phone). What an unprofessional introduction...i wish i had all this on video tape because it is just so hard to believe. I told him how i upset i was and he said, "well you were 10 minutes late for your appointment"! At that point i really thought i was in a bad dream. So i was 10 minutes late and i'm treated with no respect and no time. Shame on your Dr. Lipman. What has happened to you as a doctor and how can you treat anyone so poorly. I will never refer friends again nor will i ever go back to his office. I did get my money back after speaking to friends they said i was crazy to pay! read more
