The Lions Centennial Park is without a doubt one of the jewels of this small community. The town does a fabulous job of maintaining the area and there are tons of garbage cans around that must help with the reduction of littering as it was very rare that I ever saw any trash while walking the path around the water. You are within walking distance of several fast food locations so it's very easy to grab some food and bring it over for a picnic. There was not an abundance of tables that I noticed but ample green space to lay down a blanket. The town also added a splash park which was great to see as I know they spent a long time locally fundraising to be able to put that together. If your commuting through Ponoka and need to stop to stretch your legs this is a great place to do so and enjoy the peace that comes from a beautiful outdoor environment. read more
