The best Canoe trip I have had in Edmonton. It was Hastle free and fun. After sending a Twitter…read moremessage I got a link the send an email. The booking was fast and friendly. My son and I meet Canoeheads at The Sir Wilfrid Laurier Boat launch at 8 am. We road in comfort to Devon. Once in Devon. The prep of the Canoes and other boats was fast. A briefing on water safety and what sites to watch for was informative. We were on the North Saskatchewan river before 9 am ready for an active day. Once on the river I was impressed by the quality of the canoeing equipment. The padding was easy; with nice lifejackets and paddles. The canoes were great and I always felt safe. Canoeing is an activity that I enjoy but getting out is the hard part - Canoeheads made a day out on the water easy. We saw Moose, some deer, a Bald Eagle. A Muskrat and many ducks & geese were in the water that day too. It was a great trip. Along the way we tried to take the narrow passage whenever there was an island. As we canoed past the islands that is where we saw most of the wildlife BTW. Getting out at Laurier park was easy! Canoeheads met us there and we never lifted a boat all day. We cannot stress enough how easy it was to canoe in the Edmonton River valley with these guys. It was fast to book. No Hastle to get out-of-town. No cars to shuttle or pick up after spending an enjoyable day floating down the river. Honestly were were home before dinner and really enjoyed the day. Canoeheads made the trip a wonderful experience. A real top ten things to do in Edmonton. I plsn to make this a tradition and will look forward to doing a day out activity again soon. A big THANK YOU to Jason and his team. From pick up to drop off this was a summer highlight. Oh yeah, bring a camera ( in a ziplock ) and sunscreen. ...

Jason and his crew are on time, he loads the kayaks for us and is friendly. He is very knowledgable about the river and it's conditions. Takes time to answer any questions. I appreciate this since the river conditions can change in hours. His rates are extremely fair. We will continue to use this service.

Since we were a party of 2, we could sit in the front seats which usually requires an additional charge to guarantee those seats. The flight was super smooth and we loved being the co-pilot and see the glaciers from high above. Unfortunately there was a good amount of smoke coming from wildfires up north which led to somewhat poor visibility but we would highly recommend this to anyone. We'll definitely be back to a longer ride the next time we're in the rockies!

Naturally, we put her in the co-pilot's seat. Mom is my co-pilot. And she absolutely loved it. We all did! There were some tummy flipping dips as we rode the currents between mountains, but we were in very capable hands with our pilots. I wouldn't say I'm a religious person, but I now understand what they mean by "God's country". Flying around the sun drenched peaks of the Canadian Rockies will make anyone believe in heaven. We saw azure blue mountain lakes, sprawling rivers and miles of blue peaked mountains. It was awe inspiring. After about 20 minutes of flying, our pilots gently touched down next to a mountain stream and led us upstream on a little hike to a beautiful waterfall. Then, just when things couldn't get better, they whipped out the CHAMPAGNE. In real GLASS glasses, which is waaaay better than the plastic ones I take to picnics. We explored the area and chatted with our very interesting and friendly pilots for over an hour. And of course, after several glasses of champs, my sis and I needed to hike to the top of the falls for topless Little Mermaid pix. To say everyone was happy would be an under(wear)statement. All of it was just glorious and I would highly recommend this to anyone! My mom is 80+ and had no problem with the ride or the hike. Just FYI, they do weigh everyone before flight. Our groups were both "a little" over the weight limit. Everything's bigger in Texas! But the pilots oked us to fly. I helpfully suggested if we needed to lighten our load, we should throw out my nephew before we lose the champagne. A girl's gotta have priorities!

The tent was a regular old tent no stove or anything for heat. Cots were provided. No drinks are provided the water is from an untested stream not too far from where you are suppose to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is a squatters lou. Main meals are provided but very small and repeated meals. Snacks are not provided and dietary restrictions are not their concern so you must voice those on your own. They have some 60 litre water proof bags for your things. There is no place to swim none. Fishing is in the pond at the bottom of the bathroom creek. Or a small rocky river. Do not expect good service, you must tell the guides constantly what you want to do and when you are hungry. Multiple Rides are not without work, again you must ask. The wranglers keep to themselves and do as they please while you sit around camp, bring cards and a book. Do not expect any conversing with the staff they pretty much ignore you. Do not expect them to be happy when you ask to go for a ride and interrupt their fishing or visiting amongst themselves. Do not expect anyone to ask you if you enjoyed the trip as the end or ask you to come back. Do expect to be rushed off the property. Do expect them to bring their dogs around the horses whom clearly do not like the dogs around them. As a group of 2 both our horses were startles by the dogs and reared up more than once. Be prepared as a rider this outfit is not ment for unskilled riders for the pack trips, stick to day rides for beginners or kids. Do pack tall boots if you want to walk around camp or to the river their are alot of rough bushes to hack through. Do expect the horses to Wander back home and leave you horseless for hours while you wait for them to get wrangled back. Do expect if you are the last pack trip of the season for them to leave you sitting around camp for hours while they pack up camp completely for the year. Do not expect to have much of a say as your opinion will not matter. We did speak to the owner and got a bit of a deal. But the bad taste is still there.
