Artistic Stone - New countertop and sink

Artistic Stone

Ok bottom line - call them. Period end of discussion. Even if you are in NYC like we are!…read more Roger and his team are the only people I will recommend without reservation from our renovation. There work was careful, extraordinary, fast and beyond reasonably priced. They not only made us a great counter and backsplash they installed it with ease. The difficulty of our space is there isn't a flat or straight wall in our 1929 apartment. These guys cut a piece of stone perfectly for us. From initial conversation to measurements to two installs within one week (first counter then the backsplash) these guys were easy to deal with. Roger is great, his office staff quick to respond and clearly one of the best decisions of this whole process to use him! Good? Call him - NOW!

We had a deeply disappointing experience with Artistic Stone and, based on that experience, cannot…read morerecommend them. We hired Artistic Stone to replace our kitchen countertops and fireplace hearth with quartz and chose to extend the quartz up the kitchen walls for a seamless backsplash. To prepare, we removed our existing white subway tile. Although our installation was already delayed due to an "installer emergency," the situation worsened on installation day. Three of the four pieces arrived cut incorrectly, leaving large, noticeable gaps around the fireplace and along the kitchen walls. The installers attempted to persuade us to accept the pieces as they were, which was unacceptable given the cost of the project. After they contacted their team, they attributed the mistakes to their templating software and accepted no responsibility. That same day--for the very first time--we were informed that our cabinet trim would have to be removed for the quartz backsplash to be installed, as they were unwilling to cut around it. This had not been mentioned at any point during six weeks of communication or even during the in‑home templating appointment just a week and a half earlier. Because removing the trim risked damaging our cabinets (which were glued and screwed together), we had no choice but to abandon the quartz backsplash plan entirely and reinstall subway tile--bringing us back to our original setup at roughly twice the cost, which we had to arrange ourselves. When we attempted to speak to the owner about these issues, we were told he was "off the grid." When he eventually called from a blocked number, he did not provide his name. When we requested compensation for the incorrect cuts, delays, and added expenses, we were told they were already "eating the cost" of recutting the pieces--even though the mistakes were theirs alone. After several days of back‑and‑forth, the only concession offered was a minimal discount of a few hundred dollars, despite our paying nearly $13,000. We were initially told the process from templating to installation would take 4-6 business days. Instead, it extended beyond two weeks, and we were forced to move into our new home with no backsplash, no sink, and no functioning cooktop. In our opinion, Artistic Stone was disorganized, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for their errors. Communication was poor, the mistakes were substantial, and the resolution offered was inadequate. We do not take leaving a negative review lightly, but given the significant investment of time, money, and stress involved, we feel it is necessary to share our experience.

I needed a general contractor to convert one of my windows into a patio door. After getting several quotes from different companies, Rino from Alameda Construction stood out immediately. He offered fair pricing while still providing the same high‑quality details and transparency as the higher‑priced competitors. He was also extremely punctual and easy to reach for any questions. On the very day I contacted him, he arrived right on time to provide an estimate. A few days after I purchased my patio door, he prepared a clear, detailed agreement outlining exactly how the installation would be done and the expected timeline. When installation day came, Rino, Nick, and T completed the entire project in just one day. They demolished the existing structure, reframed and widened the opening, relocated an electrical outlet, and even added an outdoor light. By the end of the day, they had created the beautiful gateway from our living room to our backyard that we had always wanted. To Alameda Construction--thank you for the excellent work. We will absolutely continue hiring you for our future home projects, your work ethic and quality are 10 out of 10 on our book----Glenn and Angel.

He was extremely helpful after I shared photos of the project, offering thoughtful ideas and arriving well‑prepared on the day of the job. Rino provided several creative suggestions and truly valued collaboration when discussing the project's direction. He was friendly and professional throughout, even making a trip to the local hardware store to purchase needed supplies and providing receipts. His service was efficient, and he kept me informed with frequent progress updates which added great value to the project. I would absolutely recommend Alameda Construction--especially Rino--for future projects or even one‑off day jobs.

Suburban Marble & Granite - Beautiful Granite Kitchen countertops with backsplash.

Suburban Marble & Granite has a Showroom with so many Slabs of Marble & Granite, in so many natural colors and patterns, it will blow your mind! Take a pen & tablet with you, so you can jot down those that you love or you will be retracing your steps, over & over again! Since Marble & Granite is from the earth and hundreds of years old, no 2 slabs will be alike. I chose Red Marinace Granite for my Kitchen and a deep black sink that could bathe a 10 year old. The Granite has these colored, oval shaped stones all through it, like Dinosaur eggs. Pinks, whites, blacks, trust me, it's awesome! I chose the Green Marinace for my 9' by 6 ' Family Room Bar. Once you buy the slabs and you only pay for what you use, they reserve the rest of the slab for you, in case you want to use more of it, at a later time. Like I did, when I added on to my kitchen. Have a rough measurement when you arrive, to know if the slabs they have will cover your job. Patterns are matched, so there is some waste. Before they start any job, they do come to your home to draw a rough draft and to take measurements. The best part about Granite & Marble, is that it will last longer than my house will! I did choose the Granite, because I was warned Marble will hold liquid stains. I love the polished cold surfaces and the durability of the Granites that I chose. The Cold Stone is great for rolling out dough and the Dinosaur eggs make me and my Cocoa Krispies happy!

Went in this place because it's near our home and we were met by the front desk lady on her phone…read more She had an attitude like we were bothering her and was very unwelcoming. She insisted I needed the paperwork from my cabinets with the dimensions even though I told her I built them. She said ok do a drawing. I said I can tell you the square footage and yet she still wanted drawings. Makes no sense because someone will come and take measurements anyways and I was already giving her the dimensions and total square footage. Anyways we finally convinced her to walk us around but she wouldn't tell us the prices of anything back to I need the drawings. We went to Istanbul Granite and they gladly told us everything and had the sale the same day. Seems poor business practice that you know people walking in the door are potential customers if you're willing to help but instead you have an attitude and lose sales because of it. People generally aren't coming to just browse they actually want new countertops.

Their employees are very professional, polite, and they worked with us when we told them the ideas we had, and the look we were trying to achieve. They came up with other ideas that might make our small space more efficient, without needing to completely overhaul the plumbing on that side of the house. Michael was very helpful when it came time to selecting the vanity, faucet, and the countertop. Because my bathroom is an odd size, Michael had to special order the quartz piece, but it came out beautiful and fit right the first time! The installers also were very professional, on time, very neat and clean. The work was done quickly, and my husband and I are completely in love with our new bathroom! We will definitely reach out to Diamond Kitchen and Bath again when it is time to remodel our main bathroom and our powder room. Jayme R.

We would love to THANK THE TEAM AT Diamond Kitchen and Bath for making both experiences a absolute pleasure.
