Our daughter is non-verbal and barring the times where her consciousness is significantly lessened, the paramedics always speak to her directly (as well as to us, of course) and treat her like an individual. Patient care is always top notch & we know she's in the most capable of hands. Additionally--and this is always something worth noting--the response time is consistently excellent. If you've ever had to call 911, you know that feeling of wishing for a teleporter. That's never been the case when we've called OFFD. Even in the middle of the night, they seem to arrive in the blink of an eye. Probably the easiest five stars I've ever given. I hope you never need their services, but if you do? Call with confidence. OFFD is the best of the best.

Thanks to Heidi B., we've been on 2 tours of this firehouse over the past year. This past time there were close to 20 kids and 6 or 7 moms and caregivers. Kids ranged from about 1-6yrs old(I think). So it was a big group with lots of very active kids. They were each absolutely captivated by the tour, safety talk, watching a fireman put on ALL his gear, and the chance to sit in a real fire truck all in a real working firehouse! The firemen were so generous with their time and patiently answered all our questions and let us take lots of pictures. At the end each child got a plastic fireman helmet and a badge sticker. Major swag to the little ones! Our tour was such a thrill for all of us.

These guys are absolutely wonderful and so Naperville Fire Department and car 47 is one of the greatest assets that Naperville has to offer. I want people to know that!!!!!! I understand there are much bigger and worse emergencies out there and that just makes me more confident that these guys come with so much drive and ambition to help and assist from the lower level like I called them even though it's a big deal to me because I don't feel like being stuck on the floor for a day, but I know they will handle a catastrophe with the highest form of professionalism I've seen it from my own perspective and I'm so blessed to have a resource to rely on and call when I need like the Naperville Fire Department car 47!! Gladly I was staying with my folks in south Naperville when I had a mid-night medical emergency. They called 911 and the crew from the fire department down the block was there within 5 minutes. (My only regret is that I was unconscious with 6 firemen in my bedroom, haha!) It doesn't get much faster than that, and I'm very grateful for their speedy response time and professional care.

All I can say is next time please knock on the doors of houses nearby as I never heard the sirens. I just heard loud voices. Fire truck ladder hanging over the roof of that house, a fireman inside with the hose, fireman on the roof cutting through to let smoke out. You think too bad when you see it passing by BUT when it is right next door those men went in like bulls to tackle that fire and put it out in about 25 minutes. My heart racing watching flames peek out by the gutters of that home and the fire men hosing our house down. Winds pushed east blowing all the smoke away from nearby homes. My dogs new that was not a good smell and started pacing inside. You wonder will it be ok? Should I get my dogs and run? These fireman ROCK and put their lives at risk and I am ever grateful. They stayed for about 4 hours after to ensure it would not rekindle. God bless you all for saving our homes nearby!!!!!!!! Brick is a good risk - it does not burn and I am ever thankful we were spared.

Jose was very kind in helping me out in my visit and assisted me in purchasing there amazing T-shirt's for my family. These were the 3 shirts that I bought to support that fire station wish they had more of the these shirts cause they are a hit in my opinion especially the River North style and my personal was Wile E Coyote I'm willing to purchase them again even if I'm already back home in Los Angeles. It was like an army in their full "gear" descending on the lobby and into the building. They were prepared and had it been worse, we would all have been saved! I also dealt with 4 paramedics (not sure if from this station particularly)- 2 treated me in lobby, 2 took me in an ambulance to local hospital. All were not only fast, quick workers and efficient but so kind and caring and helpful. I am so grateful. Count on this team for sure!

This is a unique fire house, and a pretty adorable one at that. Established in 1902, it's…read moreoriginally was home to Hose Company 2, and when Engine Company 98 was created that company took over. It was designed by C.F. Hermann and is amongst the oldest in the city. Built to look like a medieval fortress, it retains some of those old-timey touches one associates with a firehouse, like using a brass pole (there are two!); yet, it has been modernized to turn the prior stable into the kitchen, and what once was a hayloft is now a workout room. Made of limestone,and is the only fire station in the city with landmark status. It's a highly visible house given its location on Chicago Avenue just east of Michigan Avenue, behind the Water Tower. By many accounts it's a friendly house, perhaps in part because not only do the neighbors have a good rapport with the firefighters but it attracts a lot of tourists. If you're a visitor or a local wandering near Seneca Park or the Water Tower, you might be greeted warmly by these heroes.
