I forgot to book for breakfast, but the lady in the pub was extremely understanding and we had a cooked breakfast within a few minutes. (The Craster kipper was to die for!) All of the staff were friendly and extremely welcoming. Overall, it was excellent value. It was one of the most pleasant stays I've had in a pub and I will definitely be back. Beautiful situation at the west end of Beadnell village. The food is OK and not hugely overpriced. Local fish dishes are on offer as well as local beers. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Well suited to large and family parties. For many years the place was owned by a family, but a recent change of ownership may have contributed to a slight drop in standards. Food portions are not always generous and meals are not always as hot as one might wish for.

On arrival we were given tea or coffee while we filled in our registration and a bucket and brush to clean our hiking boots (which remain strictly in the foyer, not the hotel.) Acerbic wit with a smile was the standard and it suited us to the ground. Sean's well practiced spiels are a comedy routine in themselves so pay attention and don't miss a word. He was very helpful on tide and bus and taxi information. Our room was nicely proportioned and the bathroom spacious. I visited in another room upstairs which was equally nice. Furniture is simple, stout, workable and unpretentious. All rooms have only showers. Our towels were rough but this is probably local hard water, They were new and thick and clean. Breakfast was excellent and if you are not awake on reaching the breakfast room, I assure you that you soon will be. There is lovely art around and some of it is for sale by Sean's son. Tea service in the rooms was generously stocked with a wee biscuit or two. Check the website to see other options like renting the entire place or having a wheelchair accessible room. Fabulous choice for staying on Lindisfarne. I would most certainly return here.

It is a hotel and the reception is inside the pub so it is open all day which is unusual for many of the village pubs in this area. They serve food from noon till 3pm and 6pm till 9pm but we didn't dine so I can't comment on the quality of the food. There were three or four local beers on including Secret Kingdom and Coast to Coast from Hadrian's Border Brewery as well as the usual lagers etc. There is a pool table, and we enjoy a game, but on each occasion that we were in it was totally monopolised by the landlord and staff. I'm sure we could have put our 50p on the table but I don't think we'd have been too popular! :-) The pub is dog friendly and has a beer garden to the rear which would be a nice place to while away an hour on a sunny day. Reasonable little pub really, I'd have given it four stars if we'd been able to play pool! :-)

However, we were back in the area and decided to give it another chance (it does have great views!) and we had a completely different experience. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming and the place had a buzzing vibrant atmosphere. We subsequently visited it several times during our weeks holiday and had the same service on each visit. I'd now happily recommend it to anyone and we'll certainly return when we are next in the area.

The interior is immaculate: beautiful modern decor that isn't flashy, nor does it detract from the architecture of the building. Excellent service: Leo is an attentive and friendly host who goes to great lengths to look after the comfort of his guests. Good food: Breakfast is generous and hearty Whenever friends come to town, I recommend that they stay here rather than with me. I've got the room, but they'll be more comfortable and better looked after!

The location is faultless, right on the beach road with stunning views of the sea and the Farne Islands. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome here. The onsite bar and restaurant were excellent and we were so grateful to have these options available. The room was quite small but well equipped and very comfortable. French doors opened to a small shared garden that were able to let some lovely fresh air into the room. Curtains were drawn for privacy when we needed it. Breakfast each day was wonderful. Full English cooked to order, with pastries, juice, tea, coffee all available. The dining room was clean and not too cramped, and had the most incredible view of the ocean. Starting the day with that never got old. The bar was excellent, with the barman able to rustle up a long list of cocktails. He was a really friendly guy and we chatted quite a bit both nights. A real boon to a small hotel off the beaten tracks a bit. We walked up to town one evening, a really pleasant stroll along the path, with view of Bamburgh Castle in the distance. The small town has a few interesting little places to look at. Parking is a little tight, but manageable. At least it is on-site and off the street. All in all a really enjoyable stay and wouldn't have changed anything. Its a short drive to Bamburgh, conveniently remote and peaceful, with tranquil relaxation.
