Sold me a brand new pontoon with a new Yamaha motor that they do not service or have parts for. It would've been nice if they'd told me that they can't service it. They Installed the prop incorrectly so it and the thrust washer came off... got fixed at an authorized dealer in Hayward... do not buy from Link Rec. read more

Totally useless. My boat had damage from shelter falling in it. Asked to get it repaired, guy said to email pictures and he'd give me a quote. I sent 20ish pictures to him, he never responded (waited a week). Called him and he said he can't do it without the hull number (but never asked for that, and never contacted me to tell me he needed that). So he asked for the hull number. I gave him that, and he said he'd call back. Again, never called back. A couple weeks later I called again, he said he didn't have the Serial number either (again, never asked for that), I gave him that and waited once again. He never called back, it's been over a month, I moved on to somewhere else. Total waste of time. read more

Customer service is a bad as they come. First time we had our boat picked up and serviced for winter when we went to pick up they couldn't find it. Took us over an hour and multiple staff to finally locate it. Most recently set up a boat pick up well in advance drove an hour to meet the driver to have him be more than an hour late when we called to question we were spoke to as if it was our fault. The service manager is rude and condescending, We will never do business with them again. read more

Worst customer service I've ever had. I went in to ask a couple questions and buy parts for my boat and I didn't even have four words out of my mouth and the rudest secretary I've ever met breaks in with "did you buy it from us?" When I answered she told me I could bring it in and be charged standard shop rates to fix it. Sooooo.....I'll never set foot in that place again. read more

Unprofessional. Took our boat in to have the intermediate shift cable replaced, they quoted 1.5 hrs of labor and $350. Waited two weeks and didn't hear anything so we called to get an update. Guy in the service department said he'd check and call back, but never did. Called multiple times and same story. Finally said they were working on it and would call us when it was done, but never did. We called again and he said it was done, but took 3hrs of labor and said it was just under $700. Went there, paid and picked it up; they said they had tested it in their water tank and it was good to go. Got it on the water that same afternoon and noticed it was leaking heavily into the engine compartment almost immediately! Called Link and talked to the same service guy who said to bring it back and he was sure the tech would want to look at it first thing. Didn't hear anything back for two weeks. We called and got the same runaround as before, with service guy saying he would check and call back, but never calling back. Still trying to get them to return a call and repair their mistakes. In summary, Link Recreational took a simple job and turned it into a complete nightmare. Very unprofessional place, tech apparently doesn't know what he's doing, can't get a straight answer on anything and they charged double what they said to expect. Take your boat there for repair or buy a new boat from them at your own peril, because our boat is in much worse shape after they worked on it than when we took it to them. Will be filing a report with the BBB as well. read more

I generally don't give negative reviews but my recent experience with Links Recreational in Minong, WI warrants it. I had called Links to ask if they had specifically a 16' scissor pontoon trailer to purchase on a Friday - I was told they did and was given the cost. My daughter and I drove 2 hours the next day only to find they did NOT have a trailer for sale. They claimed they must of sold it the day before however no one seemed to recall a sale. I was extremely disappointed. A woman working there then said they could 'take care of me' - if I paid $85.00 they would come out and remove the pontoon for me and bring it to my property. This sounded ideal with winter approaching to resolve my immediate issue. I was told I needed to meet them at the boat launch at 1:00 the following Thursday. My daughter and I took the day off and drove 2 hours again to the cabin. Two hours before they were to arrive we received a call from Links asking how wide the pontoon was. I called back with the width and was told they couldn't help me!!! I can't understand why a business would wait 2 hours before the service was to be provided to get details that apparently were critical to getting the job done. We expressed our disappointment but was told by the manager that it was our fault for not telling them upfront what the width of the pontoon was!!! Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience to us or take any ownership in their part in not getting all necessary information up front. I understand why this business is not BBB accredited. I am a single woman trying to manage this cabin and all the aspects of it. I thought in this area the business's would be kind and courteous - even go out of their way to help people. Links Recreational has proven their motives are 100% self serving. I will NEVER do business with them again nor would I recommend anyone else to. read more
