I came to this bowling alley with my partner to have a good time, but all we found was frustration and disappointment. Let me explain what happened during our visit to Rand's Bowling Lanes & Lounge. When we walked in, the dim lighting barely concealed how dirty the place was. I went to the counter to pick a lane and rent some bowling shoes. There were four open lanes: 7, 8, 9, and 10. The woman at the counter asked which lane I wanted, and I politely said, "Lane 10." She refused, saying they were saving it for a large group she thought might come in. The lanes weren't even pre-scheduled--she was saving them for no clear reason. I then asked for lanes 9 and 8, but I got the same response. Finally, I requested lane 7, and she said, "Oh, well, I don't know. We might use it, not sure." That made no sense. I'm a paying customer, and I wanted to rent the lane, but she saved it for absolutely no one. My only option was lane 4, which was right next to a loud birthday party filled with kids. I decided not to make a fuss and went with lane 4. Then it was time to pay. She told me the price was $4.50. To confirm, I asked, "Four dollars and fifty cents, right?" She said, "No." Confused, I asked, "What do you mean? Is it $450?" What else could she have meant? She laughed at me like I was stupid and said, "No," still laughing. I pressed her again, and she finally confirmed it was $4.50, which is what I thought all along. I have no idea why she said no the first time or why she laughed--it was rude and unnecessary. Next, she told us we didn't have to pay for the shoes, which seemed like a nice gesture. But as I walked away, she added, "But you can't wear your regular shoes." So now I'm thinking, "What the heck? Why say one thing and then immediately contradict it?" We ended up paying for the shoes after all. When we finally started bowling, the experience was just okay. The bowling balls were greasy, and it was obvious they don't clean them properly. It was gross. Once we finished, we left, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Do not go to this place. This was one of the most terrible experiences I've ever had. The woman at the front counter was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. She shouldn't be working there, and frankly, this place should be shut down.

I realize it was reserved in the next 20 minutes but it is frustrating that I called to check on availability and no one answered! How hard is it to answer the phone? To at least give people a heads up that they're full for the evening. So we drove 30 minutes to not be able to play. I'd really like to support your business as we are a big golfing family but we have keep having bad experiences. I'm super disappointed!

When I complained to the lead server (possibly manager/owner) she thanked us for letting us know but never offered to discount any of the food items. This is the same place where the server brought out cocktail sauce instead of salsa and didn't understand why my friend didn't want it on her quesadilla. And the same server dropped the food from the wrong side and walked away (don't worry...we sorted it out). Maybe she was interested in some training? Or maybe she was looking for someone who knew how to connect with the joint's "free internet?" That was another mystery. The fettuccine alfredo was a sloppy plate of noodles swimming in white sauce and butter. (See photo) And yes, that's rock hard bread, not a giant hot dog! The sole positive during our dinner was another personable very server (this is her 2nd job...also works for the State?) who spotted the lack of our server's training, skills or ability to communicate. Maybe she can get a manager to spend some time with a staff who spews profanity around guests or has no idea how to wait on tables (or where the salsa is hiding). Nobody else seems to be paying attention. I always prefer patronizing independently owned/operated restaurants but this one was an obvious failure on this occasion. Stay clear unless you're bowling.
