PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not move here. The time that I have spent living here has been a whirlwind of water shut-offs and complaints. There are some contractors here doing repairs right now, and twice, they have just waltzed into my apartment after waiting only two or three seconds for me to open the door. The water has been off for three full days now, and we just got a notice that it would be off for another day. You read that correctly...WE HAVE NOT HAD WATER FOR FOUR DAYS!! I shower at a gym, can't cook, can't clean, can't keep anything under the cabinets where people are working on the pipes, and now, random people with keys are walking into my apartment on their own terms. Seriously, what is the point of renting a place? These apartments are owned by Roscoe Properties, which also have abysmal reviews..so check that out if you need more information. Lastly, I am not writing this just to complain. I am writing this review because I want to stop anybody who is considering signing a year long lease. Link Apartment - Apartments Near Me - Austin, Texas

I have lived at the Link Apartments for 3 years and it has been a great place to live! The property is older, but all of the units have nice wood flooring, solid stone counters, and nice fixtures. The apartments are surprisingly quite, and the property is tucked away on a quieter street. A lot young professionals live there so Summers are great to hang out by the pool, or take advantage of two new gas grills they installed a few months back. The property is a great deal for the price considering the up and coming neighborhood it's in. Super close to great spots like Buzzmill, Jakalope, and the boardwalk! It's a smaller complex so you get a sense of community. At one point I knew every person that lived in my building. The staff at Link is AMAZING! The management changed several months ago and Jessica the office manager is outstanding. She is super nice, helpful, and professional. The maintenance guy Javier is out every morning making sure the property is clean and nicely maintained. He is also quick to address anything that needs to be fixed. Any time I needed something all I had to do was send Jessica a quick email or stop by the office. Javier would usually be their the same day and if not first thing the next day. I really can't say enough great things about the staff! I highly recommend Link! read more

Read the lease carefully-and be aware that they don't cover trash, water, etc etc. If you ask them to spray for bugs there will be a nominal fee. They are remodeled older apartments, so I experienced quite a few maintenance issues and water shutoffs. After their first year it may be better, but that is just conjecture. The floors in the bathrooms are a highly sensitive, porous material. Good luck keeping them from damage. General yelp stuff if you haven't been a regular user: If the author has few "friends" and only one (or two) review, they're probably the company's marketing team, or the reviews were solicited. Likewise, if it's a one star review and similar stats on the author, the author probably didn't think it through much either, and is just angry. That goes for all reviews on yelp. Their filtering system only works so well/quickly. I felt that these apartments were more expensive than they were worth, for the complex and neighborhood. The company feels like it is the norm in riverside. This corner of east riverside is not very neighborhood-y, though the HEB and convenience stores are close and if you are a cyclist or pedestrian primarily, the neighborhood is not ideal due to the busy roads that surround it. There isn't a lot of shade around there. If your idea of "value" is frequent happy hours, sure, I guess this is the place to be, but I'm not what kind of resident they are trying to attract, I suppose. While the property manager was nice to begin with, but in discussing my move-out and the floors which were mysteriously stained, I was accused of being a liar, and viciously attacked for an honest review on yelp. In a career of customer service/dealing with the public I have never considered treating anyone like that on the job. I spoke to her manager, who was willing to speak to me about my move-out statement (Leigh Anne was not) and she was much more polite. Since she never apologized for Leigh Anne's behavior, I can only assume that they condone her behavior. I would recommend moving elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough about how great the staff has been. I've been living here for a little over a year now and we had a change in management a couple of months back. Both managers had/have been amazing and are always so accommodating and understanding. I'm often times quite busy with work during the day, so answering personal emails usually gets pushed to the back burner. When it came time to renew my lease, I continuously pushed it off as I had some work travels and deadlines keeping me busy. Jessica, our property manager, was so great about sending me updates and checking in with a professional and kind manner. This week, a small part of my shower came undone. After a quick e-mail, Jessica had the problem fixed the next day! The maintenance staff is always busy keeping things clean and well maintained, and I always get a friendly smile when passing by. As far as the property, it is an older building but the units have all been redone, and look great. I live in a one-bedroom and love it. It's a nice size, comfortable, and I haven't had any issues with my in-house appliances, etc within the time I've been here. The building is surprisingly quiet for how many young professionals live here. The pool is great, and it's always nice to meet the other friendly residents. Links in an up-and-coming neighborhood with the lake a short walk away and tons of business and coffee shops just a block away. Highly recommend this location! read more

By far the worst place I've lived. Broken railings, took months to fix - did not take issues like this seriously at all. Mold in apartment - no desire to resolve the issues - left entirely up to tenant to deal with. Dishonest regional manager, threats to stay quiet about mold issues, broken verbal promises to my face, surprise NDA documents upon move-out (never sign these ever, they are intimidation tactics, not policies), and a whole bunch of disgusting attitude at the expense of tenants. Literally screamed at over the phone by regional in an attempt to coerce me into signing an NDA - and NDA which was never previously discussed as per our written agreement for move out (thrown in our lap on our way out as a scare tactic), nor are they legally required in any way. You have to choose to give up your rights to sign one - Roscoe does this to try to hide their careless and ignorant behavior and practices. Do not sign these NDA documents. Once Leigh Ann left the property shortly after our move in (she was prop. manager when things were good there // she was amazing, kind, caring for the tenants) we had a constant rotation of incompetent and rude property managers who did not know what they were doing and did not care, showed up late for work, didn't have a clue what was going on around the property. Miserable attitudes across the board. Roscoe properties is notorious for sweeping serious issues under the rug until they have to answer for something from the law, fire dept, city code inspectors, or the like. Multiple complaints on safety and health issues, and the only time during my experience that they chose to address these types of issues was once one of the above departments were called to inspect - I never called fire, police, or an city department, but thankfully I wasn't the only tenant dealing with these issues and lack of professionalism and safety concern. I could always rely on the problems to be widespread enough that someone had already called the appropriate departments to inspect or handle these issues. Then Roscoe would "jump" on the issue as if they cared when they had already been well notified and provided evidence of the safety / health concerns. It was a very dishonest system, run by fragile people who were taking orders and seemingly had no interest in the well being, health, or safety of their tenants. I would never live here again. I would never live in a roscoe property again. They do not seem to care about people. They seem to care about money. And seemingly would throw their own tenants under the bus rather than owning issues and resolving them like responsible property owners/managers. ONE POSITIVE (not the property or company, but one singular employee): Javier is the best. A kind man, honest, always tried to do the right things to help the tenants, until Roscoe continuously tied his hands with overworking him or not allowing him to address ongoing issues. He works hard, is kind, and always positive. He is the only thing we have to say that isn't bad or disgusting about this property or the people who were running it when we lived there. I rarely review anything, and even less, negative reviews. This is the light summary of our experiences with Roscoe. There is plenty more. And there are plenty of places to live in Austin. I could not in good faith keep this information to myself. Hope its helpful for those looking for a safe, healthy, well-managed place to call home. read more

I lived in a bunch of Austin apartments and Link has been by far the best experience I've had. Even factoring in the water problems we had early on, this place is a fantastic value for money and just an all around great place to live! Leigh Anne is the best. Whatever problem you might have, she'll go all out to fix it. She alone makes this Link better than 90% of other Austin complexes. But you can't overlook the location. This is really a fantastic neighborhood. 5 minutes from the lake, a short walk from HEB, and super close to downtown. Yes there were definitely some problems here early on. But those are in the past. I wanted to update my review to accurately portray that in our whole time living here, we have thoroughly enjoyed it. LINK is safe, quiet and affordable (for being so close to downtown). Maintenance issues are resolved really quickly (usually same-day or next-day) and our property manager Jessica is efficient, professional and warm, and goes above and beyond. The Link is by far the best and affordable apartment complex on this section of the city. We started in a 1 bed/1 bathroom and loved it, but had so many friends/family coming over we decided to put on our adult underpants and go for a 2bed/2bath for our renewal. And it is still amazingly affordable for 2! This is such a tiny community that you really get to know your friendly neighbors and management. This apartment complex did incur an unforeseen disaster with it's pipes that they were not previously aware of. Yes, there were inconveniences during the time it took to restore the way...we all made it through. What the previous yelper left out were the measures at which the complex when to to reassure, reimburse, and make right our situation. There was rent reimbursement, plenty of bottled water provided, a partnership set up with a nearby gym gym for showering, money for anyone needing to rent a hotel (etc.), clear and constant communication and even food provided during a community meeting to explain the situation. Yes it was an unfortunate situation but I truly believe that The Link did EVERYTHING they could to rectify the situation. A special thanks to LeighAnne (office manager) for all of her positivity throughout the process. This is a beautiful place to live with kinds folks looking out for you. Apartment buildings are a bit old but each apartment has been gutted and remodeled. Nice enough to look at but there are a few errors. Huge holes where the light fixtures are in the bathroom that look like they sledgehammered the wall and put the fixture over it anyways. Gaps between the baseboards and the hardwood = bugs have open access to crawling about (yep, cockroaches). After the Fall 2015 floods/storms, there was roof damage that leaked into the apartment. Their solution? Paint over it! The leasing office doesn't notify you when you have a package. Went to pick something up one day that FedEx confirmed and received two packages from the desk guy . . . one that had been sitting in their office for 2 WEEKS. The biggest pro to these apartments is the location and proximity to the lake, HEB and the growing East Side on the other side of the lake. However, there are plenty of other apartment buildings to pick from and Roscoe Properties has been by far the worst leasing company I've experienced. THEFT THEFT THEFT - Have a bike? Don't even think about locking it outside. This area is still "up and coming" but definitely has a ways to go. read more

I moved in to my apartment in August 2015 and so far it has been great! The people here are very friendly and are always having a fun time at the pool. I haven't had a single issue thus far and I'm really enjoying my place. My friends enjoy coming over and it's very central. I like how close it is to Downtown and to the Boardwalk Trail for all my runners out there. The complex is kept very clean and management is always trying to make sure all your problems are resolved, if you have any. I highly recommend living here if you're looking to stay close to downtown Austin, but want stay closer to the $1,000 rent range. read more

Just visited Link Apartments for the first time! I really liked the open and spacious interiors. Everything was clean and well kept. Definitely modern and updated, which is always a plus. We moved in here about 2 months ago and love this place! We are a 5 min drive from downtown, and there is an HEB right around the corner. The upgrades are beautiful and the real hardwood floors are awesome. Plus washer and dryers in each unit...my prayers are answered. Still even with all the awesome new appliances and awesome new gym and pool on site the best thing about this place is the property manager Leigh Anne Malcom. I know everyone has a east side rental horror story and its usually because of the onsite staff. Sure they're great while trying to get you into a unit, but once you sign that lease they could care less about you. My last apartment was just around the corner, and it took weeks to get maintence requests fulfilled, phone calls returned or even just acknowledged. At Link, Leigh Anne sends emails daily if the office is closing early or if any small thing may be an inconvenience... I've never had so many informative emails from a property manager, she really keeps you updated on stuff going on with the building and in such a helpful and positive light! My dryer had an issue when we first got here and I sent her an emaiI about it. In response, I had an email and a phone message within hours saying professionals were coming out to fix it the next day... And it was fixed that day. She always has a smile on her face and genuinely cares about the people who live in these units. So if you are having doubts about living here, don't! It's a great place with someone that actually cares about making sure the tenants are happy and remain that way... And that's rare to find on the Eastside. read more

Well, after I wrote my first review, I received a phone call from the apartment manager. She started off asking me questions about my dishwasher, my dryer, other things I had written about in my first review. I thought, "Oh, I appreciate that they are calling to check up on my apartment," and even contemplated changing my review of four stars. Then, about 2 minutes into the call, Leigh Anne started to berate me for what I said about her in the review. She was emotional, unprofessional, immature, and patronizing. She yelled at me for about 8 minutes, and told me that, if I ever had a job, maybe then I would understand what it was like to have "pride" in my work. I tried to tell her that the review wasn't meant to hurt her feelings and that she needn't take it personally, but I could hardly get a word in edgewise. I eventually gave up trying to have a rational conversation with her, and just let her yell. After I got off the phone with her, I realized how completely unprofessional and inappropriate that phone call was. I e-mailed someone from Roscoe Properties to tell them how poorly Leigh Anne has behaved. Unfortunately, I did not find help in a professional, but rather someone who seems to be very close friends with Leigh Anne. Amanda, I think her name was, was professional at first, but she very quickly started to demonstrate as much immaturity as Leigh Anne. At the start of our correspondence, Amanda was understanding and told me that it was okay if my boyfriend came over to my apartment when I wasn't there to let my dogs out, and he could even stop by the office to grab my packages. After a few more e-mails, Amanda changed her whole tone. She told me it was a violation of my lease for my boyfriend to be there when I wasn't home. I mean, there are services that people provide where they come over and walk your dog when you aren't home. Isn't it better that I have my boyfriend, someone I know and trust, come over and do it for me instead of having a complete stranger come onto the property? I eventually had to move out because I couldn't stand living in such a terrible community anymore. Anyway, the whole thing was a complete mess, filled with immature and unhelpful people. It was frustrating and unproductive and put a terrible taste in my mouth. Going forward, I will never trust Roscoe Properties to be professional or even civilized. I tell my store to anyone I know who may be thinking about moving into a Roscoe Property just to warn them about what this company is capable of. read more

I have lived in the Link Apartments since the end of August and I love it here. We did go through some issues with the water and pipes but the complex did everything they could to help out the residents. They provided water, free showers less than 2 minutes away and reimbursed us rent for the days they were working on the pipes. The descale company said it was one of the hardest jobs they ever had to work on. It was in no way the properties fault. It really showed me how much they care about their residents and I feel like a valued resident here and since then have been no issues with anything else. The best part of living at the link would definitely be the Property manager Leigh Anne Malcom. She is so sweet and is always genuinely happy to see you and ask how you are. Throughout the whole descale process she did everything she could for us. Anytime I have any questions or need something fixed she does her best to get it done for us as soon as possible. These apartments are by downtown so you are not far from a million fun things to do and there is an HEB within a few minutes drive. I would recommend the Link to all my friends! read more

The only reason to rent an apartment at the Link or through Roscoe Properties is if your dog is not allowed anywhere else. I rented an apartment from at the Link Apartments because I did not know better. The apartment was loud. You can hear all your neighbors. If they wash their hands, take a shower, or flush the toilet, you will know it. Also, the heating and AC unit is so loud I'd have to adjust the volume on the television anytime it switched on. I also had to sleep with the bedroom door closed because the heating/AC unit woke me up anytime it switched on. On top of this the parking lot floods. They attempted to fix this but they just wasted their money. When my lease ended at the Link, I had the apartment professionally cleaned. At the walk through I was told that there was nothing wrong with the apartment but I would be charged $80 for a standard pet cleaning fee. When I received the bill it was for $120. When I asked what the $120 was for I was told it was for carpet cleaning. I asked for a receipt and I called the company who did the work and they said the carpet was not cleaned, it was replaced. When I confronted Roscoe Properties they went through several excuses for charging me for cleaning a carpet that was pulled out. They finally said it was due to pet smell within the apartment. Because the carpet was damaged before I moved in and I marked it on the move in inspection they could not claim it was due to stains or damage so they used an excuse that cannot be proven. read more
