We celebrated mom's birthday here after reading all the Google reviews about the view and dining experiences. We made dinner reservations the same day and got them right away.
The restaurant is on the 56th floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, uber-fancy. At the restaurant lobby, we were greeted by the coolest Year of the Horse standing decoration. We were seated quickly and had a middle table that allowed us a good view of the restaurant. There's plenty of tables, seats, rooms, and separate dining areas to accommodate a good number of diners at the same time.
The decor is upscale and whimsical, with lanterns hanging off trees, tealights, terrace seating, and pastel colors on furniture.
Drinks were fabulous! The Nake and Drunk cocktail came with dried pineapple cutely placed in a tiny makeshift papercone with the tiniest clothespin attached to the glass.
Birria Soup Dumplings: Very good, although the texture and flavor may not be to everyone's liking.
Spicy Ahi Tuna with Crispy Rice: One of my favorite dishes of the night, comes with 6 pieces. The crispy rice bottoms were to die for! Haven't had anything like that and I love my crunch.
Grilled Short Rib Kalbi with Lettuce Cups: the Kalbi isn't the LA Style Kalbi we're used to, but they were good enough. The fresh cucumber kimchi were good. The portion was just enough for 3 people to share. The lettuce cups were baby sizes! Good but not great.
Roasted Duck: Pretty good, but again, nothing to write home about. Sauce was excellent, though!
Vegetable Fried Rice: Generous portion. Good. Could be like any other fried rice.
Overall, Ling Ling was an excellent dining experience. Great place to celebrate birthdays. Service is unparalleled, servers are always paying attention and making sure diners don't wait long and have a great experience. For the price of the food, we felt the food could have been a level higher. Still a cool experience to take others to. read more
