Yep. Yep. Yep. It ticks all the boxes. Amazing views. Great food and wine. And the location is…read morePerfect. We have decided to get s houseboat and moor it here soon. We found this place by accident while my husband was paddling the Murray. It's a gorgeous green winery right on the river. You can do wine tastings, eat their wood fired pizzas, local platters, or sip on one of their signature sangrias which I loved. True grit is also here in May. It's a secret I didn't want to let out

What a cool concept! Caudo Vineyard is located on the Waikerie side of Cadell, along the Murray…read moreRiver. Accessible via road or river, it's the perfect place to visit whilst spending your holidays along the Murray. Caudo's signature drop is their premade Sangria, you may recognise the sugar skull logo. They have both red and white on offer. We ordered a jug of the red ($18), and to be honest it kind of tasted like a spicy moscato. Not an insult, but not necessarily traditional. It's certainly sweet, and you can taste the orange notes... although that may be the hunk of orange they put with the ice in the jug. I do wish they would fill the glasses with ice and diced fruit. I think it would really bring out the flavours. You can buy 4 packs, cartons and large bottles of the Sangria to take away. A 4 pack will set you back $20. We got a pack to play with when we get home. There are other wines on offer too, as well as Barossa Valley cider and Caudo's Hogwash Bend Lager. Which was quite a refreshing crowd-pleasing lager. Very good for a hot day. Finally, there is quite a tasty little menu on offer. The local antipasto platter sounds like a delightful pairing with sangria on a summer day. The self cook BBQ plate looked amazing too! Annnndd pizza. All the deliciousness!! Overall, I highly recommend people pop into Caudo if they're in the region. I'll definitely head back next holidays... I'm keen to try a sangria cocktail!!

My friend saw this place a few weeks ago and wanted to stop in when I came to visit. Boy am I glad…read morewe did! This winery is only about 15 minutes from my friend's house and the view was splendid. We drove up to a packed parking lot and were hoping we'd find a seat. It's a boutique winery only open on the weekends. After heading straight to the open lawn and taking in the scenery, we headed inside to see if they had tastings available. They place all the bottles on the counter that they are available to taste so sometimes the items on the tasting menu they have in front of you isn't the same. The man who started our tasting for us wasn't the kindest and that's unfortunate because it cost the place a star. He was short and got us started for our tasting but then started serving other customers that came in. Another staff member continued and served us a few other options but a smile and a little more attentiveness to your customers would go along way. I loved the 2013 Sparkling Frontignac. OMG! It was very me. It's fresh, crispy, bubbly, and has touches of peach! I love peaches and the sip from start to finish was great! I really wish that I had purchased a bottle now. The food coming from the kitchen smelled wonderful! They had cheese platters, brushetta, and pizzas available. I wish we could come a little later so we could have had lunch but we started our tour here and ended up having coffees or a glass of sparkling in my case! Great place where I saw families with kids, big groups, a 50th birthday celebration, and couples. It's a place for everyone!

Nice set up and view, a bit congested but if it's a good day the seats outside are nice. Some easy…read moredrinking well priced gimmicky wines (which the girls liked) including a good red wine are available to accompany the food. For such a long drive you would expect a lunch with fresh local produce but all they offer is set pre made pizza or bruschetta and that's it. The pizza was your standard Pizza Hut type deep pan pizza and no beer is available. They can't make 'flat whites' well. If on a budget and you just want a big slice of pizza and a glass of wine then this place is perfect but the winery lunch has moved so far from this place in recent years. Even with the pizzas after getting used to gourmet wood fired thin pizzas now available in so many places it was a bit hard going back to these old style thick greasy cheesey salty Pizzas. The bruschetta was good though but after that you don't feel like more of the same on a pizza. I suspect they cater mostly to locals and they do what they do well. With their set system they can serve a large number of people quickly so unlike other winery restaurants that try to get too complex you won't have to wait long. Great lawn area for kids and a great place for a big group on a budget. The service was prompt and everything was hot.
