Andrea let Lola take separate space and kept her and the other dogs apart while Lola adjusted to being there. During my 9 days of vacation, I was sent updates, multiple times during the day and pictures. Leaving Lola was very hard but Harvey's Pet Care made it easier. The pooches actually felt like they were at home whether playing in the backyard or sitting next to one of the owners on the floor while doing video conferencing for work. They felt just like home. I always am concerned about health and safety of the dogs when they're away but they came home just as happy and well balanced as when I drop them off. They use Facebook quite a bit which I'm not a Facebook person but they posted regular pictures so we could see what they were doing at any time of day. Their business is monitored by security cameras so I felt pretty safe that they could see what was going on in and around the property. If I can describe it in one word it's kind of like a home away from home. I would recommend.

I was one of the lucky people that was able to adopt one of the "Lucky 13" dogs that were saved…read morethrough Hometown Foundation. These dogs were seriously abused and mistreated. The dogs were sent to Tolland Tails as they needed the best! I adopted my dog and took him home a week after he was saved. After one month my dog would not let anyone in my home, constantly barking I realized I should not have insisted on taking him home so quickly as we were unable to correct these behaviors. Alyssa did advise us to leave the dogs with her as she did not have time to assess them fully. I should have listened! I had a trainer come into my home once a week and after 5 weeks I was told my dog was a liability and I should get rid of him! I immediately called Alyssa at Tolland Tails who got into her car and within hours was at my home to assess the situation. She took my dog with her and within three hours called to tell me that my dog could definitely be trained! I decided to leave my dog at Tolland Tails for 4 to 6 weeks of training. One day each week I made the drive and II was also trained! Fast foward to today...I have the best dog ever! Does he still require work, yes, but I was sent home with a manual as to what to do. I call Alyssa with any questions and she gets back to me each and every time! Even if its as simple as to what training treats are safe! Did It cost me a little money yes, but it was worth every penny and in comparison to other trainers she is so reasonable. I would highly recommend Tolland Tails!

Finn tends to be a nervous dog, but she made him feel right at home. She even sent picture updates throughout the day, which gave me peace of mind that Finn was enjoying his stay. Maria has a wonderful fenced in yard and Finn enjoyed lots of toys and treats and came home very happy! When we dropped him off the next day, he was so excited to be back! Maria even accommodated another friend who brought her dog for the tournament and they both got to play all day together. Our first incident here was when our dog slipped out of her collar when a staff member was handling her outside of the building. Our dog ran into the busy road and narrowly survived. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake. Last week when we picked our dog up at the end of the day we were informed that she had a gash on her leg and had been limping in the morning. We took our dog to a veterinary urgent care facility and, five hours and 1500 dollars later, we were informed by the vet that she had most likely been bitten due to the nature of the wound and the level of pocketing. Our dog now has stitches, a drain, has to take medication, and has to be monitored in a cone for 10-14 days. The following day I spoke with the owners. I asked why they hadn't called us when our dog was limping in the morning, and why they again failed to inform us that they found a bleeding wound on my dog in the afternoon. The male owner spent the conversation downplaying the event and arguing with me, claiming they had only seen a "little red dot" and that "these things happen when dogs play". He also came up with excuses like, "it's hard to see wounds sometimes because of fur," yet our dog has short white fur. No matter what, the owners/staff should have called us when they noticed that our dog was injured. They refused to help with the vet bill, but did refund our daycare package.
