A truck that serves comfort food and serves the suburban working masses of Montgomery County is A-OK, in my book. When I'm in a rush and don't want to venture out for food then I'm a fan of the salads here. They serve all their $9 salads with a "scoop". This means a scoop of chicken, egg or tuna salad, which negates any of healthy aspects of the salad but they are well prepared and taste home made without a doubt. I want to try the Ramen noodle salad, one of these days. I sampled the five cheese mac n'cheese and would describe it as light and not too heavy in sauce and has a sprinkling of bread crumbs. I like how they used cavatappi (spiral noodles). The menu said it had tomatoes, which would make it awesome but unfortunately as you can see from the picture there were none. The meat offerings: pulled pork and brisket hit the spot. Not something I'd crave, it doesn't have the smoky flavors (it's simply slow cooked meats) and the sauce is mild, but for a lunch where you don't want to fall into a food coma after, it's perfect. My one complaint is though, that the prices are a little hefty when salads that are a moderate portion range at $9 and meals go for $12. Also few if no options for vegetarians or those who are gluten free. But I guess for $12 you can have a brisket or pulled pork meal (served as sliders) with a heaping spoonfuls of their mac n'cheese made with spiral pasta and a drink without much effort, so you pay for convenience here. read more

Linda's Luncheonette - Food Trucks Near Me

Fast friendly service. Good salads. Average comfort food. First visit I was in the mood to eat healthy today so I tried the chop salad with a scoop of chicken salad. The chicken salad tasted like home made. Perfect...it wasn't all fancy with a bunch of crap in it I'd never consider, but tasted like you had leftover thanksgiving turkey, shredded it and mixed it up with a little mayo and S&P. Good stuff. The chopped salad was fine. Wasn't exceptional for the price but wasn't bad. It's tough to amaze me with a salad unless it is huge and loaded with lots of ingredients I wouldn't rustle up at one time on my own. The greek feta dressing was very good. Brownie was ooey gooey as promised. The salad was $11 w/ the scoop of meat which I think is a little high for what I got, but that seems to be the going rate as other food trucks charge the same. It was fresh food made just for me! Second visit I tried the "turkey meatloaf w/ mac&cheese" staple. I guess comfort food is supposed to be warm and familiar and in that sense, this delivered. It came with 1 1/2 slices of very average tasting meatloaf and a larger side of home made style mac & cheese. In that sense, everything was good and the large side of mac made up for the smallish serving of meatloaf. But for $12...Meh, I've had better. read more

Comfort food with healthy twists and proper execution, at food truck markups. Turkey meatloaf was moist with a pretty ketchup glaze, and the cavatappi noodles were just past al dente and lightly cheesy. Portioning was aimed for a moderate lunch appetite. I'd come back to @LLuncheonette and try a wrap. read more

A decent food truck with basic items, but without much innovation (yet the same prices as) the fierce DC food truck market, so I'll have to give this place an average score. I had the BBQ chicken sliders with a side of mac and cheese. The BBQ chicken was tender and nicely tomatoey - but lacked the hearty spiced deep brown I prefer in my BBQ. The buns were generic (I'd prefer something more buttery), and I would have liked a vegetable in the slider to give it some crunch, crisp, or freshness to cut the meat. The mac and cheese was similarly just normal. Tasty enough (especially if mixed in with the chicken) but nothing about it stood out. It could have used more salt, a stronger cheese, or something to add complexity or texture. The other items in the menu are very basic and without a clear guiding force (sliders but then quinoa salads, and then random Asian influences like a crispy ramen noodle salad). Overall, an okay place if you need to grab some food, but not if you want to have a memorable meal or a "fun" food truck experience. read more

Lucky for me food trucks are starting to come to East-West highway! Which I am sure is wonderful for them! We have SO many government employees over here who need to be in and out for lunch and food trucks seem to work the best for our short lunch breaks. Linda's Luncheonette was outside my office today and was the only food truck parked! Good for her! I came down around 11:40am to snag a quick bite before my next meeting and before the line got to long. In front of me was only one other lady who just so happened to block the menu so I wasn't able to view anything until it was my turn *order pressure*. I saw mac&cheese, mini sliders, turkey blt, sodas, and water. To be honest it was a very short menu listing and I can't remember the other things posted which means they aren't typically what I eat. I went along with the Turkey BLT and the moment she took my $9.00 the wrap was already placed in front of me. It was wrapped in aluminum and very cold. Unwrapping it the wrap was a bit hard and the sauce that was placed on it had made part of the wrap soggy. I DO NOT LIKE SOGGY. But I was hungry so I ate around it... $9.00 for rather petit wrap wasn't worth the quality/size ratio for me, therefore, I most likely wouldn't order it again. In the future I would view her menu to see if there was anything else I would venture and try, however, Bethesda Gourmet across the street has SO much more to offer and you get a lot more for your money. read more

Linda's Luncheonette - Turkey bacon BLT in a wrap! $9.00 - Food Trucks Near Me

Linda's Luncheonette is not only a super colorful food truck, but they also do catering! I've been lucky enough to sample both. Here are my thoughts on each- Food Truck: They focus on gourmet comfort food. A seasonal menu is offered with some staples, like turkey meatloaf (topped with the only ketchup I've ever liked - seriously) and baked five-cheese mac-n-cheese. The menu also offers a seasonal soup and salad, items such as a trio of salad (egg, chicken, tuna) sliders, wraps, and double-wide crispy treats. I've tried the meatloaf, mac-n-cheese, chopped salad, ramen salad, tomato soup, and the trio of sliders. Obviously, I've enjoyed each dish or I wouldnt have tried so many of them! :) The prices are standard for a food truck; the portions are large for a truck, so I always feel like I come out on top when I eat at Linda's Luncheonette. I noticed on their website it says that you can request a spot for lunch via email, so they'll come to your place of work. Catering: Linda's Luncheonette allows you to customize your own menu. For my party, I ordered a lemon orzo soup, mac-n-cheese, meatloaf, a ramen salad, and open-faced egg salad sliders. We also had ooey gooey brownies and double-wide crispy treats. The price for this mountain of food was totally reasonable. Everyone was really pleased. They are still talking about it! I'd highly recommend Linda's Luncheonette's catering for a family parties, office events, backyard weddings - pretty much any event that would be complimented by this gourmet comfort food. In short, I've been really pleased with both the catering and the truck service. read more

Linda's appealed to me because it offered a lot of healthy but delicious options for lunch! Of course, I got the least healthy thing on the menu: the Mac & Cheese. A promise that I hand over cash for cheesy gooey covered pasta is a seriously deal. Linda's didn't really hold up their end. I appreciate their use of one of my favorite pastas: cavatappi! But it was a bit dry and not very cheesy. The tomatoes were a nice touch. I believe it's priced right for the portion if it wasn't an "off" day but throw this girl some extra cheese!~ Linda was super nice and I hope they come back to this Farmers Market soon. Next time, I'll try the Caesar salad! read more

Thank you to GovLoop for sponsoring Happy Food Trucks Full of Thanks Day! This was a great way to celebrate the Fiscal New Year. Sadly this event was rain or shine, so I had to trek across the National Mall to stand in the cold wind and drizzle for my choice of either Curly's BBQ or Linda's Luncheonette. Mother Nature made the choice obvious. I could stand out in the rain and wait for BBQ or shelter in place at the Federal Triangle Metro to go up and redeem my free voucher for Linda's. I had to make a difficult choice among Baked Mac & Cheese, a BLT wrap or a GLT wrap, replacing bacon with Guacamole. I chose the GLT, but the guac was spread on the tortilla like mayo. I thought there was way too much lettuce, one tomato, and the turkey appeared to processed. Portion wise, the GLT was just right, not too filling, which is good because I'm not in a food coma. I just wish it had more guacamole on it. Since GovLoop was paying, I'm not going to complain too much and maybe I will give Linda's a second look if I see them in Rockville or Bethesda. read more

Linda's Luncheonette is an okay food truck to stop by for a quick sandwich. It doesn't seem like they have a stove on board and that most items are made beforehand. So it's an okay place to grab something, like a BLT Wrap, but it is not as fun or innovative as many of the food trcuks on the scene. They usually have a pretty limited selection, and the signage can sometimes be confusing such as with their "Trio of Sliders: Chicken, Tuna, Egg Salad." I was disappointed to find that my Chicken Sliders were actually Chicken SALAD sliders. Some may find the sign confusing, but when they also offer Pulled BBQ Chicken Sliders, I think they should makes themselves more clear. The chicken salad was actually tasty enough, and the cranberries were a nice touch. read more

Linda's bright pink truck advertising her wares with pithy phrases like "Nostalgia on a Plate" and "Mobile Comfort Food" pulled up in front of my office building for the first time today on Fishers Lane in Rockville, and her awesome 5-cheese mac and cheese really hit the spot. It was a decent-sized portion for the price. The only suggestion my coworker and I have is maybe include a little bit of that chopped salad on the side, to round out the meal (the tomato-slice topping on the mac was a nice touch, however). Please come back! read more

The mac and cheese was a big disappointment. It was dry and far from creamy. Luckily the rest of the meal was great and keeps this review at four starts. The sloppy joe sliders (which are made with turkey) are fantastic. I also tried the pulled chicken and while that was tasty, the sloppy joe is the way to go! The ooey gooey brownies are huge, but so good you won't want to share (even though they could easily feed four people). The double wide krispie treat is a double thickness than a standard rice krispie treat. It was good as well, but nothing that made it special to Linda's other than it's size. You can hire Linda's to come to you, which is a great option! read more

Ordered a chop salad with ranch, and the mac & cheese.. Big portions of both - too much to finish - ate half for lunch and the rest for dinner. Mobile comfort food. Yep. See you next visit to W. Diamond Ave! read more

Linda's parks in front of my office building once every couple of weeks. They're seriously some of the best food I can get in Silver Spring, besting all the local restaurants too! They serve some tremendously great comfort food. I usually get a combo of turkey sloppy joe sliders with 5-cheese mac & cheese, which is positively AMAZING! Unlike a lot of food trucks I've found, they actually properly package up the food. It's still warm and nothing's leaked out by the time I've made it back to my desk! There's actually been a couple days I had planned to work remotely but I went into the office specifically because I saw Linda's was going to be parked outside that day. They're THAT good! read more

I was eager to try the food from this business because most BLTs are made with pork bacon. But they have a Turkey Bacon BLT!!! It was delicious. With chips and a bottle of water the cost of the meal was $11. The two women in the truck were very happy to serve. They made the whole experience pleasant. I can't wait for them to come back to APL! read more

I was soo excited to find out that food trucks were coming to where I work! Sadly, however, the food didn't live up to my expectations and the prices definitely did not justify the taste. I had a slightly soggy, small, and bland GLT Caesar Wrap (Guacamole/Lettuce/Turkey). The only reason this review isn't 2 stars is because of the G part of the GLT. So thank you, food gods, for blessing us with the beautiful creation that is guacamole. I most likely won't be ordering anything from this place again. read more

Maybe I just don't understand the whole food truck thing, but I can't bring myself to pay restaurant prices (or more) for food from a truck Linda's ramen noodle salad and mac & cheese were good, but did not justify prices of $9 and $8, respectively. The salad was not exactly an entree salad--it was more like an appetizer-sized portion. Ditto for the mac & cheese, which was the size of a side you might get at a restaurant. I would rate Linda's 3 stars on food quality, but when I factor in the cost ($17 for a food truck meal), it's not a value proposition that will bring me back. read more

Was not terribly impressed at the selection during a recent tasting in Garrett Park, MD. The Trio of Sliders tasted like left over deli salads. They were dry and needed something other than a store bought slider roll to make me forget I'm not ordering burgers. Perhaps some dressing, greens or flavored slider roll? The Mac and cheese was the big disappointment. I'm sorry to describe it this way but I could have sworn I was eating Stoffers store bought. Other than the random lone slice of tomato in my box nothing else said fresh and home made. I partly blame the event organizers for selecting just this one food truck to provide on site food for the event but watching disappointed kids at a pool party realize sliders did not equal burgers and the only item worthy enough to be considered kid friendly was the Mac and cheese. This leaves me wondering if its the menu or venue who is at fault? I'm sure this truck would be better suited for a Bethesda festival or some other adult themed event. read more

Obsessed with this food truck. They come to my work a few times a month and serve their amazing home cooked comfort food. The owner is the sweetest person, so nice to all of her customers. I once had a creamy tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons. SO GOOD. Also love their turkey meatloaf, mac and cheese and chicken salad sliders. read more

Meatloaf and mac n cheese were AMAZING! Good portions too. Solid guac and tasty brownie too. Highly recommend.

Linda's food is delicious! Had Linda's Luncheonette come to our office party and everyone raved about the food and great service. Nearly 100 people were served in well under an hour! Aside from the great menu, Linda was a pleasure to work with ! Looking forward to the next visit to the truck! read more

Linda's is the best comfort food I've ever had. Can't believe it's from a food truck. The Mac n cheese is incredible!

Love it! I've had it from the truck and from their catering. I would eat there all the time if I had the chance!

While the food is good or maybe I should say not bad, It is not special and in my opinion overpriced. I had the three sliders a week ago in Burtonsville. The eggs salad seemed like egg and mayo, the chicken salad - chicken and mayo and the tuna, which I thought tasted off and threw away, was tuna and vinegar. None of the items tasted as if it had more than the main item and the mayo or vinegar. Very disappointing. read more
