I love Lincoln Park! It has parking! It has trails! It has ball fields! It has tennis courts! It has children play areas! It has a heated outdoor, salt water pool! It has picnic areas! It has amazing views of the sound! It has just about anything you could want in a park! I love coming here and walking through the trees when it's sprinkling out, everything is so fresh and clean and smells like nature. I love coming here on a sunny day and walking through the shade of the trees to cool off. I love coming here in the fall after the leaves change the colors are amazing. I love coming here to walk along the water and enjoy the wonderfulness that is Lincoln Park. I love coming here to watch Shakespeare in the Park, but only the afternoon show not the evening one or else I get eaten alive by the bugs. I love coming to watch friends play baseball/softball at the fields! I love coming here for picnics with friends and enjoying the good times that are had. One of my favorite parks to visit when I am in the area! It's a large park with waterfront- you can see the ferries coming and going through the day. There's some areas for kids and a great walking trail. It can get really windy and cold so dress accordingly. There is a swimming pool that's open in the summers by the water and that's something I would like to re-visit in the summer! Deserves a 4.5 star rating. Great location, not far from down town Seattle. The shoreline is covered in weathered driftwood and pebbles. It has a wilderness feel to it. I guess you can sometimes see seals and orcas, which would be cool. Ive seen a sea otter here, and a bald eagle. There are trails, picnic shelters, restrooms and many BBQ spots, a baseball/soccer field, and even a pool. This park is large. Plenty of space for sports and recreation. The evergreen canopy shade the trails on hot summer days. Lovely. * if you dislike hills or steep paths, sorry. That's how the shoreline is accessed. Maybe it's the fact that you have an amazing view no matter where you sit or maybe it's the fact that I associate this park with my favorite band..whatever it is, Lincoln Park hits all the right notes. This beats the heavy foot and vehicle traffic in Alki. The distance from the main roads make all the difference. Lincoln Park is a little bit of a walk (a very green and peaceful one) from the parking lot to the waterfront which is awesome because you're surrounded purely by nature by the time you get to the water. With trees and shrubs separating you from the rest of the world, you can soak in the sea breeze without worrying about car pollution filling your lungs or a volleyball hitting your face. A recommended place for people who love jogging or walking. read more

I become a kid every time I come here! Perfect way to spend my first summer weekend in Seattle. Whoo hoo! No rain finally! Beautiful hike, beautiful beach, great little ferry, large parking space, excellent spaces for BBQ, large playground for kids (and adults ahaha), excellent neighborhood, good food nearby, just plain perfect! Well..ok..so it's not Hawaii but it's a pretty darn good beach in WA that's just fantastic for LARGE parties. I've attended several large picnic events here with over 100+ party size. This place is so huge, it's suitable for everyone! There's great trails for walking your dog, large grass lawn to do whatever you wish, and picnic tables all around. The kids will never get bored and neither will you! Don't forget to stop by California Street for yummy food! read more

I just moved to the Seattle area and have been going to various places to explore and sight seeing...and out of all Places I've seen I must say this is my favorite! Love all the trees and the trails that lead down to a rock beach that runs along a paved walk way! With Plenty of benches to sit and listen to the waves crash, watch the ferries pass and if you're lucky you can see seals swimming along!! I have been going to this park since I was in a stroller. Lots of things to do here. My favorite thing to do when I go is wonder around in the unmarked trails. Or if I am feeling ambitious its fun to start at the main part of the park ("up top" if you will), and take the trail down to the water. There are tennis courts, a baseball field, swings, a play area for kids, picnic shelters, a wading pool, and Coleman pool (saltwater pool). Lots of fun for the whole family, including the furry friends! p.s. But if you bring your doggies please obey the leash laws and scoop your poop - it just makes the park more enjoyable for everyone. Granted, as pull up bars go, they are surely (mostly) functional. Lincoln Park (at time of press a deserved 4 1/2 average from fellow Yelpers) deserves better. Functionality. They are sturdy, composed of solidly-anchored wood and galvanized steel. However, the three bar heights are oddly chosen. I am a rather tall fellow and had to bend my knees to use the very tallest bar, and my Vietnamese friend Minh needed a boost to reach the shortest bar. Surely, these bars were constructed before West Seattle was the lovely cornucopia of cultures that it is today. Beauty. The triangular structure lends itself to - uhh - I really have no idea what they were thinking here. It looks like NOTHING else in Lincoln Park, and if the bars weren't stuck on a back trail, hidden amongst trees, they would be an eyesore. I would lobby to have them replaced with structures of beauty, designed and crafted by local Native Americans -- that is, if I weren't consumed with finding acceptable pull up bars on which to work out. read more

This is my fav park in the West Seattle area because it has practically everything you'd want in a park. Beautiful mostly paved walk and rocky beach along Puget Sound, very large forested area on the bluff overlooking Puget Sound and the beach belie, the closest thing you'll find to an old growth forest with lots of intertwining paved and I paved paths throughout, impressive mix of evergreen and deciduous trees, incredible views of Puget Sound, ferries, shipping tankers, etc. And if you're lucky you'll see bald eagles and/or sea lions or harbor seals. Also plenty of covered and open picnic and outdoor cooking areas, both in the upper forest area and along the beach paths. Great place to walk your dogs or just hike on your own. read more

Am new to WA and finally visited this park today. Loved the path right along the water as well as the many sitting options. Today the weather was perfect, but I imagine that even on a cloudy day this would be a great place for a walk. It also has many different and shaded paths to take. read more

Domesticated squirrels that eat from your hand. Random exercise equipment along the walking trails. A paved path to run along the sound and a dirt path along the top of the ridge. Lots of smaller paths, covered in vegetation to explore. Watch kids play ball, or just enjoy all the dogs running around happy to make a new friend. What's not to like about a trail that loops Pugent Sound? It's a well paved trail along the beach with multiple bench tables and places to relax. There are also bathrooms spread out along the trail with water spouts for the dog to grab a drink. There is a pool at the tip of the beach but I have yet to go...it opens on Memorial Day. There are amazing views of the Olympics and makes it the perfect place for a sunset. There are also some trails through the woods if you're looking for something more secluded or looking to trail run. read more

Lincoln Park is a great place for runs, biking, barbecuing, walks and simply just sitting around to admire the view. It is great to just sit there and listen to the water splash against the rocks and enjoy a beautiful sunset. It is not as crowded as Alki Beach. My favorite Seattle Park! When the sky is clear, you can see the huge range of the Olympic Mountains as you walk the long, wide beach path along a large expanse of Puget Sound. This is my favorite part of the park, but its other aspects only add to the experience. Plenty of large trees - deciduous and evergreen with well-kept lawns and grounds. A higher path lets you look through those trees to the beach and the mountains. You can watch the Vashon ferry tootling to and from the Fauntleroy dock to Vashon Island. Occasionally you will see a massive merchant ship traveling to or from the Port of Tacoma. Plenty of benches and tables and spaces for a picnic blanket. I've never been in the Coleman Pool, but I stop by the door which sometimes posts news of whale sighting. read more

Blame it on the weather. The outdoors are on my brain! Lincoln Park is a short-distance runner's paradise. A dog walker's paradise. A Gangster's Paradise. How to get here? Just hop on the West Seattle bridge (BTW City of Seattle, you changing the name from "Freeway" to "Bridge" doesn't make me drive any slower) - follow Fauntleroy down, down until you see the park signs on the right. It doesn't get any easier to find than that. There's 2 parking lots that I know of and have found parking in both pretty easily. I'm a trail runner; cement running does the job, but I swear I run faster when I'm on mixed trails, and feel better as I run. I ran a race here a few months ago and there were lovely soft trails, water-view flat paths and clean, forested air, with generous gulps of salt-water air. But what goes down, must come up. You run DOWN to the water and getting back is a test of your agility and your endurance. Awkward-spaced switchback-stairs at a 40% incline. So steep they hurt my feelings. The other day, I ran with my dog and roommate, and we had a great time! We ended right at the 3 mile mark. Of course you could run it another loop or 3, but we were pretty tanked from that hill. A freaking gem of a park if there ever was one. I took my special charge Sofa for a sunset walk here. We were treated to a magnificent time- complete with scenic vistas, roomy trails, and the prettiest stretch of coast I've seen in city. That night, as the crimson sun slipped behind the Olympics, casting it's pink glow across the horizon and reflecting opalescence on the water I decided to try and convince my husband to move to West Seattle, just to be closer to this place. Plus, those stairs back up from the beach are a f**king ass kicker. read more

West Seattle is so lucky! They have everything here so if you lived here you would rarely need to leave! They have a Bakery Nouveau, Proletariat Pizza close by and they have this lovely park... It's not fair. Lincoln Park is beautiful. It's situated along the beach but there are trails and playing fields too. They have plenty of picnic tables, places to lay around and even a pool at the far end of park (Colman Pool). Definitely family and canine friendly too. It's a great place to spend a nice sunny day. I love how serene it is along the water, you can even go fishing. I also love how clean the beach and park is in general, they do a great job maintaining it. Parking can be a bit overwhelming on the weekends as it does get very busy. There are two parking lots and people are constantly coming and going so the wait for a spot isn't too bad, there is also ample street parking too. Lincoln Park is definitely one of my favorite parks in Seattle if not one the best IMO, I highly recommend it if you've never been! read more

It's HUGE! HUGE, I say! I live far away from Lincoln Park but find reasons to go there. There are many examples of why this park is fantastic. Here are a couple: ** Parking seems difficult to some, but compared to downtown Seattle, it's easy breezy. Park in a lot or on the street; no problems unless there is a big event. ** Good location for the wading pool. A close walk to a picnic shelter, the street, or bathrooms. It's also a bit under the trees, which gives a bit of shade, depending on the time of day. ** Trees, grass, and other related greenery. Such a beautiful setting to walk from end to end. ** Playground structures are available throughout the park. I like one best because I get a good view of the water from there. There's also a nice zipline for children and maybe smallish, lighter adults to play on (emphasis on "lighter" adults). ** Easy to reserve areas such as tables, shelters, and such, provided you get on it pretty early. With all the parks, some dates are super busy and others are not. If you have a really important date, get on it. See the Parks website or call for more info. I've always had a good time here and I'm sad that I don't live closer. I haven't even mentioned walking down to the beach but that should definitely be on your list. Personally, I rather stay about and take scenic pictures of the water. I'm not much of a Northwest "beach" fan. read more

This is a nice urban park... neigbhoring the Vashon Ferry terminal so you can see the ferry going back and forth if you decide to walk down towards the beach. Short beach, but beautiful and scenic. Lots of rental space with BBQ area and covered seating. You can make reservations with the city and/or toss the dice and hope it's not reserved that day. I think this may also be one of the few, if not only saltwater swimming pool in the area. Maybe I'm wrong, but the saltwater pool part is accurate. This park is used for many different events including youth soccer, there's light hiking trails, and play grounds for the kiddies. I actually came here for a Shakespeare in the Park event. King Lear! It was fun. Plenty of parking unless it's super nice and it's peak time... whatever that means. I suppose that would mean any major event that's going on or a beautiful sunny day. read more

A nice park located on the west side of West Seattle. There are paths leading down to the beach were spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains can be seen beyond the Puget Sound. A paved roadway separate the greenery from the beach and is frequented and utilized by the park goers. A salt water pool, playground, trails and parking are on the park as well. read more

What an amazing place! I love this park because it's easy to get to and close to where I live. It's got a flat mile-long running/walking trail and it beautiful at all times of the year. Highlights from this park: I've seen harbor seals, river otters, and people fishing for (and catching) salmon. This park is great for a quick barbeque right after work with plenty of picnic tables (both reservable and non-reservable) for a memorable dinner watching the sun set over the Olympics in the summer time. What does Lincoln Park NOT have? It's one of the best parks in Seattle. I bring the kids for swimming in the summer, picnics, playing, softball, playing on the playground equipment, beach walks...etc. It's the best! Lincoln Park has 2 playground areas. The south playground is nice and has a great swing for the kids to swing down a hill. I get a little nervous at the south playground with the little kids because the playground equipment is a little higher off the ground. The north playground is better for the smaller kids because the playground equipment is a little lower to the ground and you don't have to worry about your kids falling. read more

As a community organizer, parent or regular hooligan you have to love the space here. You can reserve your own picnic space that is covered with tables. You can let your kiddos climb to their hearts' content and you can run around in the woods while running in to locals. The sunset is amazing down by the wading pool. It doesn't scorch your eyes, but you can see it make the trees' leaves aglow and the water glimmer. It's wonderful for an afternoon game of tag or a cookout get together. read more

This is one of the few Seattle parks that has plenty of parking!!! Combine the parking lot with the additional street parking and you have a winner! Even during the warm summer months here in the Pacific Northwest there is plenty of room for everyone. I find something new to enjoy each and every time we come to this park. From beach walks to a paved walk loop around the park this is one of the fine crown jewels in West Seattle. The ballfields are clean and well kept and the playground equipment, while it's nothing too fancy, serves the kiddos well. The best kept secret is being able to rent the covered picnic areas from the Park's Department. For a nominal fee you can reserve the area and host your family gatherings here! Gather up the kids, pack a lunch and get out and enjoy the rays! read more

My favorite beach front park. If you go there early in the morning there I lots of parking spaces available and two parking lots. I love it because on one side you have rock but short walking distance you have a sand beach. It's full of shells and crabs and when you're lucky you can see dolphins jumping from the water or seals. When I lived in West Seattle I read and heard about several incidents of gang violence in Lincoln Park, including a shooting. It seems that this is a very real and growing problem in the area. Now that I don't live on the West Side I choose to go to other parks when I'm in the Seattle and this is largely due to safety concerns with Lincoln Park. That said, the times my family spent at Lincoln Park were enjoyable. We loved walking down the steps to the shore, heading South, past Colman Pool and back up to the central playground, near the Little League Field. The upper edge of the park trail has beautiful lookouts of the Sound. It's a shame such a nice park has become a frequented destination of a disturbing set of individuals. read more

Lincoln Park - Up Above - Parks Near Me - Seattle, Washington

What an enormous park! It's hard to know what to do there first. We've wandered by this park on several occasions on the way to the ferry. It always seemed like a nice place to stop. We didn't quite know what to do, so we just started walking down one of the many trails and ended up at a great wooded playground. Filled with kids and it even had a nice zip line for the older kids. Cool. We followed the path down to the water and got to take in the fabulous view and finally stood on the beach that we always saw from the ferry. The paved path seemed like a great place to bike or blade but was so crowded I doubt that would ever be a possibility. My biggest problem with this park was the beach actually. While it was a breath-taking view and had great pavilions, the beach was treacherous to walk on. Slippery rocks with barnacles everywhere. So don't expect a lovely walk on the beach. And the cleared off area is apparently private. Sigh. I'm sure I'll be back at some point to explore the trails. read more

Wonderful wooded green pathways filled with all sorts of different plants and wildlife is you look closely. Thee are many paths to take, and lots of ground to cover at this park. It would be best to wear your walking shoes. The trees are phenomenal and the cover the entire park. The North Beach at Lincoln Park is the beach area that you can way down to if you want to. The North Beach is a rounded lake like area that is nestled with thick evergreen trees. The park stretches North for miles and has beautiful Scenic views of the water. A great place to visit the beach & hunt for crabs with the kids, take your pet, go for a jog, walk or bike ride, catch up with a friend or just enjoy the views & nature surrounding you. read more

A daily retreat after work during the spring and summer months and at least once a week during the colder months. Miles of trails to wander on, minor hiking (for us not so in shape folks), beach walks, a swimming pool down on the lower north side, a wading pool in the upper north side, coupled with jungle gyms, swings, baseball AND tennis courts, not to mention the extremely friendly squirrels who are all too happy to chase you down for that little bag of cheez-its.. be warned - I had one climbing up my leg to get at some stinkin chow mein - I think I'm traumatized for life now. You can reserve the shelters and numbered tables for picnics - any unnumbered table is first come first served. read more

Nice park with many different activities to choose from. Lots of people here walking dogs. There is a playground and lots of picnic areas with charcoal grills available. There are paths down to the beach. You can walk, bike, picnic, fish or just chill. There is also a public pool too. There are a couple small parking lots but lots of parking on the street near the park. You shouldn't have too much of a problem finding free parking. Unfortunately the bathrooms are hideous. It's really sad that they are in such a bad state. Does anyone maintain these during open hours? Besides the bathrooms it a nice park. read more

Finally came here on a Sunday morning with my girlfriend. We packed breakfast sandwiches, fruit and some crunchies and drove about 5-10 minutes to the park. Upon arrival at 10am, there was ample parking in the lot and we took a short walk through the trees and made it to the waterfront. We parked in the larger lot, that was more north, but if you drive further south on Fauntleroy there is another lot that gives you more direct access without having to walk further if you have those who don't/can't walk as far. There is a small swing set for kids, and plenty of park benches and logs to sit on with a fantastic view of the water and the ferry to Vashon coming in and out. read more

One of the first things people said when I wanted to relocate to Seattle from CA was I would miss the beach and ocean trips. After my first venture to Lincoln Park I think I will be just fine. I stayed in West Seattle temporarily and one day while getting cabin fever I stumbled across this park and instantly fell in love even in the light rain. It's dog friendly (even has free dog bags), nice walk along the lake, plenty of seating, and even bathrooms. You get excellent views of the incoming ferries as well as the islands. I'm sure during the summer this place must get packed but when we came there were just a few runners which made for a nice quiet walk. Overall, I still miss certain ocean spots I used to frequent however the more and more I get out to visit parks or different areas close to the lakes the more I realize this area has amazing water views and parks that even a West Coast guy like me can appreciate and love. read more

This is a great hidden jem on the Western side of West Seattle. The park starts up on the hill by Fauntelroy and then winds down all the way to Puget Sound. The path from the upper part of the park to the lower part is a good walk but well kept. The water front sports the Coleman Pool which is a saltwater pool for you swim enthusiasts. There is also a path by the water which is nice to ride your bike or rollerblade. Also picinic benches and places to have a bbq. There is no beach per se, just a rocky shore lined with large driftwood. Its nice to sit out by the water though. read more

I really really love Lincoln Park....and I havent even been to Coleman Pool yet! Can you imagine how I will feel when I have?!
