Beautiful. Peaceful. Free to use and open all day. Swimming allowed in specific areas. Bathrooms accessible and picnic areas available first come first served. Bring your lunch or dinner and enjoy a beautiful scenic view!

Pretty cool community park that overlooks Lake Washington. There's a large grass area where people gather playing music and doing picnics. There's also a paved walkway that is right up against the shoreline (no harsh inclines/declines so it's great for a light refreshing walk). I visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few open spots in the parking lot. Easy bus access as there's a bus stop at the corner of the park.

Breathtaking views of Lake Washington and the Eastside. Madrona Park is a beach park, accessible by foot to the Madona and Leschi neighborhoods. We've been here a few times, and each time, I'm always mesmerized by the waterfront views, as is everyone else who visits Madrona Park. If you get here early enough, you can easily claim a spot in one of the parking lots. It's actually nice that they have parking lots for visitors here, steps away from the park. You can rent space for a BBQ, as they have an area for grilling that's covered, which is a popular amenity during the summertime. There's a dock where you can jump off of, plenty of green space for a picnic and lounging, and they also have bathrooms. For a nice trail that leads to the Madrona neighborhood, there's one very close to the park that leads you uphill to where the business centre of Madona is. But walking along the main drag is nice for those looking for a relaxing, long stroll. I always enjoy visiting Madrona Park on those clear, sunny days. Get here early for a parking space and to claim a spot on the grass area. And those views will remind you the Pacific Northwest is the best place to live in!

Seattle Treasure on lake Washingtin boulevard. Public park with amazing views of cascade mountains, mt rainier, Bellevue, bridges with a beach to swim

Rainy day but large mature trees along the lake shore are beautiful

Lovely park along southwest Seattle shore of Lake Washington. Home of Spectrum Dance studio. Swim beach, mature trees along shoreline, large lawn, barbeque areas, great views of and across the lake, and long walking paths ( beloved by dog walkers), restrooms and a great food concession stand on the south side of brick bldg w restrooms..but at north end of park ...so it's not visible from the long parking lot on south end of park ( blocked by swim Bathhouse/ Spectrum Dance). Check out their impressive selection of fancy hotdog creations ( including vegan, turkey, and gluten free options). .pictures to follow...ice creams, hot & cold beverages, Lotus plant based energy drinks, tasty organic lemonades, pastries , snacks, and more.

The place was alright. You do get to see pretty city and ocean view but while walking on the side road there are lots of poop.

Phenomenal views to wake up to in our RV: Lake Washington, the floating bridges, the marina, flowers, berries and bees hard at work . The park has plenty of parking, shade, walkway and access to facilities .

    Breathtaking view.

A short walk from my pad. Great for a rowdy BBQ or a quiet evening walk. Breathtaking views of the lake + good parking.

A short walk after parking the car we were welcomed by this beautiful view

Came to this park for the first time early July for a party of 20-ish people. It was the perfect place for a summer BBQ as we could reserve a table (not sure how to do this though, because someone else in the group made the reservation). The parking lot was pretty big so parking was easy. Big plus! There's also a small drop off/pick up area for cars as well which is convenient to drop off food instead of carrying it from the parking lot (short walk away). There is a small beach area with sand and people were laying out there getting some sunshine. Kids were swimming in the water and there are two docks that seemed fun to play on. The views form the park were GORGEOUS and there are plenty of trees for those who want to sit in the shade. Definitely coming back for a swim/picnic!

This park is cute! They have a decent spread of land right on Washington Lake. It overlooks Bellevue and Mt. Rainier on a clear day. We went for a walk from our rental house and found this place. The kids clearly like the waves splashing on them and Uncle Andy likes watching them! At the beach location they have diving platforms and lifeguards to watch over your kids. We arrived here too late to go swimming. They closed it at 6pm. We did notice a few people picnicking here and fishing too! I'm not sure they caught anything as we were a bit down from them. They even have bikers on the small road along the park. We will return for more hiking.

    Beautiful parking lot view

I'm a sucker for a nice water view. Madrona Park is soooo beautiful on a nice, sunny day. A friend introduced me to this park about 3 years ago and I have been bringing people here ever since. The drive down the boulevard is gorgeous as well when it is sunny. There are several parking lots down the boulevard as well. There are a few parks, sandy spots and docks. It's nice to walk along one of the docks and be surrounded by water, you can even see little Bellevue in the distance. One perfect thing is that there is a certain parking lot that faces the water pretty closely, so you can find people eating lunch in their cars or just relaxing and enjoying the calming view. The only downside of the drive down WA Lake Boulevard is the bikers. The road gets pretty narrow and there are spots where you can't see if there is oncoming traffic so expect to find yourself stuck behind a couple bikers at some point.

A Seattle Gem with Breathtaking Views!…read more Discovery Park is hands down one of the most beautiful spots in Seattle. My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! It's the largest park in the city, so there is plenty of space to enjoy nature. Whether you want a serious hike or just a peaceful stroll to see the water, this is the place to go. Don't forget your camera--the scenery is post-card perfect!

From an urban park perspective, the only other experience that comes close for me is when I moved to the Old Town Manchester neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, and had Belle Isle in my backyard, which offers access to hiking, large flat rocks for sunbathing, and whitewater rafting on Class II, III, and IV rapids on the James River right in the middle of downtown. Okay, back to Discovery Park. I spent an entire day exploring the park. I started by ordering a carryout lunch at Damoori Kitchen, which is now closed according to Yelp. I then walked to Discovery Park and hiked the 4.4-mile Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop. A map for that trail can be accessed using a trail app. The loop trail took me through several ecosystems such as coastal meadows, tidal beaches, forest groves, sand dunes, and vast stretches of thickets with wild berries. Once I finished hiking the loop, I walked back to Damoori Kitchen and caught a rideshare back to downtown Seattle. Highlights from my Discovery Park adventure included eating lunch at the tidal beach, exploring sea cliffs, seeing jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier, hiking past the West Point Lighthouse, and experiencing the sights, sounds, flora, and fauna of the park's majestic landscape.
