The park at dusk is so beautiful

A beautiful, free art experience near the water. I walk through the Olympic Sculpture Park often. Plenty of areas to sit and have a picnic or read, draw, or journal. It's well-maintained and very clean. I think it's kind of an underrated attraction. Highly recommend for a quiet moment on a sunny day.

Very cool place with interesting artworks. There is a building with rest rooms. Interactive golf with different themes.

Park in downtown with great accessibility. It is between the waterfront and the centennial trail. There are plenty of areas to sit and gaze out to the sound. The park also features plenty of art sculptures and hosts free events in summer

This was a nice place to relax on a Sunday afternoon in May. The weather was dry and sunny.

Whenever I'm in this part of Seattle I always enjoy visiting the sculpture park. Excellent views of the Sound, and the Space Needle, depending on which direction you look. On this visit I noticed a security guard walking around. Which actually made me feel better as a female alone in a public place. I'm not scared to be in Seattle alone but it is nice to know security guards walk around. Always interesting sculptures and great views! SYOY!

+ Fascinating sculptures to relax and unwind with friends and family while overlooking Puget Sound. + It's a large park. Nice place for a refreshing jog as you take a break from dt Seattle. + Restrooms and water in the clean Paccar Pavilion (Western Ave & Broad St intersection). + Free. + Safe, pleasant ambience. - I started sneezing a lot here. Pack your antihistamines.

I was inspired to review the Father and Son fountain sculpture by Louise Bourgeois at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle. This sculpture was commissioned by the Seattle Art Museum with funds from the estate of local philanthropist Stu Smailes, who left $1 million to the city with a stipulation that the money be used for a fountain featuring a nude male figure. It was interesting to learn about Stu Smailes and how the city eventually fulfilled his legacy through a commissioned sculpture - Father and Son by Louise Bourgeois.

This was unexpectedly one of my favorite tourist destinations around Seattle! It was quiet and peaceful on a Friday afternoon and the sculpture art was striking. It doesn't take more than 30 minutes to walk through with pausing to look at everything, so it's definitely worth checking out even if you don't have much time.

Olympic Sculpture Park is less a park, and more a waterfront trail with art sculptures along the path. By far the most captivating has to be the fountain, which switches heights, revealing another sculpture beneath the water. Sadly most of the other sculptures are a tad on the boring side, a bit too modern to evoke anything more than passing curiousity. With a bit more care to the plants or art style this park could be really gorgeous, but as it is, it's not too bad of a walk along the waterfront, and makes for a nice afternoon stroll.

The Olympic Sculpture Park is a great park to check out. The saddest thing is that you'll have to pay for parking if you want to get off a little closer. There is plenty of seating all around if you're tired and need to take a break, or if you want to have a picnic with friends and family. There aren't too many sculptures, but it is a nice walk.

Very nice park right by the water and it has some cultural activity center also. Lots of grass. Only issue nowhere to find any bathroom

Beautiful scenery along the shoreline of the puget sound. Full of life and laughter it's a great spot. The sculptures are unique and spread out over a large span of walking path. We walked the path and lime scootered back it's the best way to take in the scenery IMO. If you visit Seattle stop by you'll see some amazing sunsets and meet some wonderful people.

Seattle, oh how you surprised me! Every major city I can think of has a landmark I have seen on a…read moreshow or a movie. Ok so Grey Sloan memorial may be in my head and not a real place but second to none is the space needle. No way could I have come to Seattle and not go to the Space Needle. I live in Los Angeles, so high rises and observation decks I am not a stranger to. I don't want to discourage anyone from going but most observation decks are almost a dime a dozen once you have done a handful. But no matter what the standout special that is sharing the courtyard of the space needle is this lovely glass garden. I have no idea why no one from Grey Sloan has made their way over there (Yeah, yeah, I know it's really filmed mostly in Los Angeles) When people talk about the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden should be mentioned right along with it. It was such a beautiful and refreshing place to visit. The only thing I could ask would be for maybe 3 more exhibits. The glass blowing demonstration was so cool, well it was hot, and visually cool. So when you buy the tickets to the Space Needle and it asks you if you want the combination ticket for Chihuly Garden, you should absolutely click that option. The ticket as an addon or solo is a bit pricey in my opinion for the size of the exhibit, but so is everything else in the world now. I took some cool pics, but I am going to keep them to myself. I don't want to ruin it for you. Really go check it out, it's worth the visit for sure.

The artistic displays and the works themselves are an incredible blend of styles and colors. A lot of these works reminds me of visuals from an active sea floor full of life. You can almost see the still life works as if they are in motion. The fluidity and organization make this a must see event that is definitely worth the cost of admission.

I believe each year the address for the market can change. This past year (2018) the address was at El Corazon. The Mourning Market is composed of dark themed... or Gothic styled merchandise that independent vendors and artists make and sell. This can include a variety of things from dolls, clothes, paintings, candy, cards, jewelry boxes, incense burners, necklaces and so much more! Many of the vendors do accept credit or debit cards but if there were any that did not there was an ATM at El Corazon where you could get cash. There is an entry fee to go to the market and the time we went it was only $2 which was very manageable. We bought several things here that we really enjoy! We got homemade chocolates from a vendor with a brilliant and refreshing mint flavor to it. I also got a bullet necklace where the bullet shell was carved in beautiful and elaborate designs. Steve got a David Bowie magnet which was awesome! The merchandise here is one of a kind and if it isn't then if there are duplicates of an item then it is very exclusive to that vendor or the market. In other words the likelihood of finding these items somewhere else are unlikely. Almost all of the vendors have their own business cards and I imagine you could place some orders for what they sell after the Mourning Market is held. The Mourning Market has about two dates out of the year as to when it is held. As I said location is bound to change year to year but it's definitely worth keeping track of. Their website is very straightforward and if you have the interest in becoming a vendor at the market there is even a link for that too at the website. The Mourning Market is a great way to support your local artists in the area!

This viewing location is easily walkable from most downtown hotels (our walk was approximately 12 minutes) and has felt safe each year to us with just two recommendations.
