Hell yes. Not only is this the best cheese shop in Queens, it's surpassed my old favorite cheese…read moreshop in the city, the sorely missed Bedford Cheese Shop. The cheesemongers here know their stuff and are extremely adept at matching you with a cheese you'll love. Admittedly I love all cheese, so it's not hard to please me but sometimes you're looking for something VERY specific. You can come here, describe what you want fairly poorly and without any cheese lingo, and I'm willing to bet money that they will find you a basically perfect cheese for you to come home with on the first try. That's rare. I have had so many times where I've been looking for a cheese, kinda sorta describe it to the best of my ability at the counter and then get a sample of whatever the person brings me and just say "good enough" even if it's not quite the right thing. That's never happened to me here. The selection is huge, the array of snacks and little gourmet bites on the lefthand side of the store is really impressive and I heard they just introduced cheesecake. Also, this place introduced me to Chabichou so I practically owe them my life.

It's one of those cheese shops where you'll smell the cheese before you see it- that wafting smell is indeed incredible haha. There is a very generous selection of cheeses here & I'm sure anyone can find a cheese that they like (& if you don't like cheese, whyyyy)! The employee & I believe owner Abraham was amazing & super attentive & patient with my indecisiveness. I chose a variety of cheeses to take home with my favorite easily being the 3 year aged comté. All in all, albeit this cheese shop is a bit secluded it's worth the visit!

Great cheese accompaniments, nuts, crackers, and delicious Belgian chocolate covered nuts. Many other goodies from fine olive oils, to coffee, to fine baguettes and croissants--and many other temptations. Very well laid out and an extremely nice staff. I really hope they stay and thrive for a very long time, with cheeses far better than any to be found in an area where some really know the difference.

Like, we-think-you-don't-have-a-day-job kind of late. Noon-ish. On a Tuesday. I don't know who their target demographic is, but it's not anyone with a functioning calendar. When you do manage to show up during their elusive open hours, you're greeted by... well, "greeted" is generous. The staff makes you feel like you interrupted their private cheese cult meeting. Don't expect warm conversation -- unless you're the cheddar. There are free samples, which I respect. If you're feeling broke and brave, you could turn it into a little snack crawl. And the cheese? It's fine. Not bad. Not transcendent. Just... cheese. Maybe you'll find something aged and interesting, or maybe you'll walk out wondering if Trader Joe's would've hit the same for less. First: THE BEST FRESH MOZZ I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Not exaggerating, it is amazing! The owner told me he makes it fresh there hourly. I believe him. Melt in your mouth goodness. The sandwiches I ordered were fresh & delicious. Some really interesting sandwich combos on the menu. He makes all kind of yummy-looking Italian stalwarts like lasagna, chicken cutlets, hand-formed hamburger patties and the like. Everyone who was working there today were super nice too! This place going into my "Collections." We'll be back, soon & you should go & treat yourself!

It's a specialty food store (cash only) serving up incredible sandwiches, Italian salads, freshly made mozzarella and more. I've been coming in here since I've lived in Astoria (that's almost 15 years) and every time I visit I find something new to try. Their heroes are delicious - the Italian sub has everything you could want on it, the eggplant parm hero is big enough to feed a small army. Service is friendly even when it's packed. Everyone here is happy to help you. Good food, good vibes.

It was an amazing sandwich--the mozzarella was so fresh and all the flavors melded well together. Great crunch of the ciabatta crust and the bread was fluffy inside. From the moment we walked in, it was all that I wanted- reminiscent of the Italian shops and delis my parents would take me to when I was a kid. The ambiance told me right away that the sandwich I sought (the 'Casa') was going to be good....as did the two guys in line ahead of me, one who went so far as to say it would be life changing. Service was great- super helpful and patient as we perused the counter. Wanting to be thorough () we ordered two Casa's....one on Ciabatta, and one on a hero. First off....both bread vehicles were incredible. The hero was crunchy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, while the ciabatta was perfectly thin (allowing you to fully enjoy all of the fresh, delicious ingredients), with a golden crust. Just perfect. Oh yeah- the ingredients.... The Casa is filled with perfectly sliced prosciutto, house made mozzarella, sun dried peppers, and balsamic glaze. The balsamic tied everything together beautifully and was a wonderful touch to the sandwich, while the mozz....well...I'll say this... If you ask 10 people on Arthur Ave who makes the best Mozzarella around, and a good number of people are going to tell you it's Casa Della. And I'm here to tell you that their Mozzarella is the truth. It's delicious, creamy, flavorful...it's the kind of stuff that will have you standing in front of the establishment, Casa in hand (and mouth) without a care in the world, or whether or not people are staring at you while you scarf or down. It's that good. Also- prices are extremely reasonable, and you receive a ton of value for your dollar. Casa Della Mozzarella is not just the Casa. They are a fully loaded market and deli, loaded with everything you need, whether for a quick lunch on the go, or to supply dinner or your fridge at home. Definitely a can't miss, must check out spot.

There was a time where most things were right around $1. It's as if a 99 cent discount store had a baby with a bodega, resulting in the mini-supermarket feel that it is now. While prices have risen, it is still considered affordable for the area. Expect produce prices to be between $2-5 depending on the item. There's also more than just produce, there is meat as well as seafood. Prepackaged goods are also available and there's a number of an imported items. If one is lucky, the store bodega cat might make an appearance. Service is not going to be that helpful and the quality of a lot of things are probably not going to be optimal. The store is also not the cleanest or the most organized. However, if one can spend $20 walk out with a fish, snacks, and a decent selection of fruit, that's a deal anywhere, but especially NYC.
