I ordered the roast beef sandwich and shared the garlic fries with my family. The garlic fries had a lot of garlic on it. It was seasoned well and mostly crispy. My son enjoyed it. As for the roast beef sandwich, the roast beef needed more seasoning and salt. The mustard did help overcome this. I also enjoyed the 3 different types of pickles.

You can order to go but buyer beware there is $4 sharing fee if you eat inside and order one thing. I think that's questionable but hey, I'm from the West Coast? Nothing fancy inside, a little cramped, and the restroom as one daughter describes was "smaller than the closet under the stairs from Harry Potter". Our server was nice enough though super busy taking orders, delivering food, and cleaning tables. My daughter and I got the hot pastrami sandwich. Duh. The meat was very good but that plain white bread was dry to me. Maybe I'm too used to fuffy sandwiches? Used a lot of mustard and ate a lot of pickles to bring some moisture into the meal. I took coleslaw from my other daughter's plate as well. My other daughter got the roast beef sandwich (served rare) and she was good. Hers came with coleslaw and the roll bread was better. My wife didn't want a sandwich but ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup which actually doesn't have chicken meat in it so kinda weird to me. Good broth. Large bowl. Garlic fries. Surprisingly these fries were really good as they were loaded with generous scoop of crushed fried garlic. I thought it was going to be like garlic salt so I was impressed. Added some of the garlic into my sandwich every few bites. Worked with the mustard and coleslaw. Visit once? Yes. Twice? Maybe? Large menu for sure.

There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day.

The staff is super nice and eager to help. It feels like a special neighborhood gem and you can really feel the family owned vibe. 1. Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. All were amazing and is a must try when visiting. absolutely rec when you're on the east side!

Walking into the store from the corner entrance, directly in center there's a beverage station with coffee and tea dispensers. About half the store is dedicated to prepared foods--on the left are chilled and packaged desserts, on the right are warm and cold mains, salads, cheese and charcuterie, sides, sushi, convenient packaged foods (crackers, breads, candies, snacks). Toward the middle of the store are a few aisles of jarred, canned, dried goods, teas and coffee sachets, condiments and spices. Towards the south side of the store is a butcher counter, more prepared chilled foods, salads, wraps, chilled bottled drinks, followed by the fresh produce area. At the front of the store are a few registers you check out. They keep the store very clean and tidy, the shelves are well-stocked. Staff are friendly and on point. The food selections are good quality and you also pay a premium since it's UES after all.

For a high-end specialty market, I've never understood why they only offer pre-made cold sandwiches and won't make sandwiches fresh to order. If I'm paying premium prices, I'd rather have a fresh sandwich than one that's been sitting in a refrigerator. I also find it odd that they've expanded to two locations while still offering a very limited selection of baked goods and freshly prepared foods. The market was at its best when the Greek chef worked there. Back then, the food was excellent and worth the price.
