I remember the first time we toured this place we fell in love with how cozy it was. It felt like a real home and an upgrade to the place we were previously staying. 1 car garage with additional driveway & street parking, in unit washer/dryer, backyard for gardening, upstairs balcony...plenty of space! I could go on about all the good qualities! They all outweigh bad. We had a couple issues with neighbor smoking in the backyard, dribbling basketballs past quiet hours, finding parking after a certain hour but I feel those issues are common things in all apartment complexes. These issues were addressed. Overall, we enjoyed our time. Safety is a priority and we did not encounter a bad experience with theft or break-ins inside the community. (Sometimes we would forget to close our garage over night and everything stayed in place the next morning hehe). Can't forget to mention how close this place is to Safeway. Super convenient. Also a good distance to lake Elizabeth as well. Last but not least, Kathy (manager) and Jason (maintenance) are truly the best people for this job. They are genuine and friendly people who really cares for their community. Quick to respond and addressed concerns promptly. We will miss living within this community. On August 10, we sent an email to the leasing office letting them know that our car was towed. We let them know that we have been parking in the spot assigned by Reliant and the spot that is listed on the lease. A staff member responded quickly, and copied the manager into the email right away. However, the manager did not respond at all. We made several attempts to contact the manager and even went in person to speak to her, but she was never around. Finally on October 2, nearly two months after our initial email, my husband went to go pick up a package. Then one of the more helpful staff members informed my husband that the manager was in office and available to speak to my husband. Not only did she not have any idea what my husband was referring to when he explained the situation, she couldn't even find the emails. She had to look at my husband's phone at the emails she has been copied in since the beginning. She took less than 5 minutes to review the email and concluded that The Asher is not responsible. I also find it very interesting that she responded to a public Yelp review, but did not respond to my email. So I'll just attach a copy of my email here directly, since Yelp reviews are far more important to respond to than actual emails. Additionally, the last email we received was on October 7th from Reliant, who also claims to not be responsible for the towing incident, but is "looking into it." The manager at The Asher has gone unresponsive, and the interim manager has not reached out either. Therefore, this issue remains unresolved after over two months. So you should think twice before moving here.

What made The Meadows so great was the combination of the people, the property, and the location. The management and maintenance teams were wonderful throughout my time here, the community was friendly, and the grounds were always exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained. There's a ton of greenery throughout the property, and it always felt like the people taking care of the community genuinely cared about making it a nice place to live. That experience started before I even moved in. The leasing staff took the time to understand what I was looking for and helped me find a unit that fit my preferences. They were even gracious enough to work with me on getting a better deal. Looking back, that first interaction was a pretty good indication of how I'd be treated over the next three years. I also really appreciated how reasonable management was when it came to renewals. Even with the rent-control limits on annual increases, my rent generally went up by less than what they could have charged. I never felt like management was trying to squeeze as much as possible out of existing residents, which unfortunately isn't something I can say about every apartment community in the Bay Area. Maintenance was excellent too, although, honestly, the fact that I only had a single maintenance request in more than three years probably says something on its own. When I did need help, everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The Meadows is also easily one of the cleanest apartment communities I've ever seen. When I moved in, it was obvious that they had put real care into preparing and cleaning the unit. As someone who is pretty particular about keeping my own home clean, I appreciated that. I noticed the same attention to detail when I moved out and saw the cleaning checklist they use to prepare apartments for the next resident. It was surprisingly close to the kind of checklist I'd make myself. My apartment had wonderful natural light and became an incredibly cozy home for me. I faced the expressway, and while there was a small amount of road noise, it was never enough to really bother me. More than anything, I loved coming home every day. That may be the simplest and most important compliment I can give a place where I spent more than three years. The location was great as well. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby, plenty of good routes for running and walking, and it's incredibly easy to get onto highways. The property itself also has great amenities, and I particularly appreciated how well the gym was maintained. Despite being so conveniently located, the community always felt comfortable and safe. I never felt uneasy living or walking around here. There were also community events throughout the year that brought residents together. I certainly didn't go to every one, but I appreciated that they existed and that management put real effort into making The Meadows feel like a community rather than just a collection of apartments. Even moving out was surprisingly easy. Everything was handled professionally and straightforwardly, without unnecessary stress or surprises. It was nice that my last experience with the management team was just as positive as my first. The only reason I moved was because I wanted to live in a different part of the Bay Area. It had nothing to do with The Meadows itself. Over the years I visited plenty of other apartment communities where friends and coworkers lived, and I honestly never came away wishing I had chosen somewhere else. It's rare to leave an apartment feeling genuinely sad to go, but The Meadows really became home for me. I looked forward to coming home every day, and I'm incredibly happy I stayed as long as I did. (ps. videos are from the day I moved out; the place looks even better after they take a pass before the next tenant's move in)
