We lived within this community for almost 4 years. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 story townhome style apartment. I remember the first time we toured this place we fell in love with how cozy it was. It felt like a real home and an upgrade to the place we were previously staying. 1 car garage with additional driveway & street parking, in unit washer/dryer, backyard for gardening, upstairs balcony...plenty of space! I could go on about all the good qualities! They all outweigh bad. We had a couple issues with neighbor smoking in the backyard, dribbling basketballs past quiet hours, finding parking after a certain hour but I feel those issues are common things in all apartment complexes. These issues were addressed. Overall, we enjoyed our time. Safety is a priority and we did not encounter a bad experience with theft or break-ins inside the community. (Sometimes we would forget to close our garage over night and everything stayed in place the next morning hehe). Can't forget to mention how close this place is to Safeway. Super convenient. Also a good distance to lake Elizabeth as well. Last but not least, Kathy (manager) and Jason (maintenance) are truly the best people for this job. They are genuine and friendly people who really cares for their community. Quick to respond and addressed concerns promptly. We will miss living within this community. I have been living here for the last 22 years. Kathy and Jason are some of the best people one could ever ask for for Property Management (Kathy) and Maintenance (Jason). They are efficient, friendly, and have supported my wife and I for all those years. My wife passed early this year and they have been supportive in my efforts to downsize and re-organize. I am staying with the property, just teaming up with another tenant (who I had shared one of the units with before). Our unit was a 2 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath townhouse. It has a spacious living room (which I turned into a 'hospital care' space when my wife became ill), with 2 bedrooms upstairs. The full bath is upstairs, the half bath is downstairs. When we had any requests, like the reasonable accommodation request for a handicap ramp for the front stairs, they got it done. read more

Wow. This is a great spot in Fremont, CA. We looked at the reviews for Roberts Lane when debating to move here; and folks' feedback was promising. We gave it a chance and I'm so glad we did! First and foremost, Kathy is the absolute best. She is on top of her work. She responds quickly. She is the friendly and sincere. She made moving in, living here, and moving out a dream. I have never experienced such great management of a rental property in my entire life of renting (and we have lived in many places)! If you are trying to find a place that is headache and hassle free, this is it. She will get things fixed for you immediately if you have any concerns or issues. She will respond to your messages! She truly goes above and beyond to make sure residents have a seamless experience living here. The townhomes are a great size. The closet space is wonderful! They have attached garages and a courtyard (backyard) that you can do whatever you want with. I ended up having more storage space than I thought I would have. It is centrally located; convenient to hop on the freeway for work. Quiet though, you do not hear freeway traffic. The grounds are kept up and clean. The community is respectful. They really helped make our moving experience into a brand new area measurably easier. From working through the paperwork and financial requirements, to letting us know about the bike trails leading to Lake Elizabeth Park that they used with their families, they knocked it out of the park. Service calls for minor issues that inevitably arose during our 4+ years stay were always taken care of promptly while maintaining excellent communications. The team really shines when it comes to the holidays. Decorations at the office area are always the pride of the community. Whether it's for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, it is apparent they constantly go the extra mile to instill a sense of community that truly makes this an exceptional team and an joyous place to live. read more

I've been living here for almost half a decade now, and this is probably one of the nicest places I've ever lived. First, the townhomes themselves. Smart, spacious floor plans, thick walls, well insulated. Appliances leave a little something to be desired but are functional. In-wall air conditioner in the living room is crazy powerful, keeps the whole downstairs cold during the summer. Oh, and did I mention that AT&T gigabit fiber is available here, as is gigabit from Comcast? And it's affordable? My only major complaints have to do with: I can't get ceiling fans in my unit (mine's from before they did renovations) and you can't mount a window A/C anywhere upstairs, and it does get hot. Portable air conditioners work, but are pretty far from ideal and not especially efficient. Also, policy prevents me from putting curtains in any front facing window, and these blinds kind of suck. Also, we're near train tracks, so be aware. You'll get used to it, though. The surrounding neighborhood looks sketchier than it actually is; I've taken late night walks around here more times than I can count, and there's a lot of good stuff in walking distance. As for the management, Kathy is probably the most responsible, personable property manager I've dealt with in my entire life. I had a problem with my neighbor smoking, she took care of it. The kids in the complex ride their bikes unsupervised in the street, risking accidents? Kathy takes care of it. Maintenance issues? Kathy and the staff take care of them. And my rent has never gone up the entire time I've been here, which is downright unheard of in California. Easily, easily recommend. read more

I would definitely recommend living in Roberts Lane Townhouses. We lived there for three years and now moved out of state. This place deserves another great review, so here it goes: This is a quiet community, conveniently located near 680 and 880- easy commute to out of town. There is a Safeway store a walking distance away and it's open 24/7. The community has a pool (a bit small but nice) and a event room. The townhouses are very spacious with a lot of built-in storage, relatively large patio (we had a herb/veggie garden in there. And a garage (we used ours as a home gym). But the best part are the team that runs this place. Kathy, the office manager is the sweetest person you've ever met, very caring and helping. And Wayne is the ultimate handyman who knows all about those houses and always happy to help with issues. If you are looking for a quiet, family oriented place, where kids play ball outside and trick or treat on Halloween - that's the place for you. Kathy - thank you so much for everything! We lived in Roberts lane townhouses for 5 years. Just loved it. Such a cozy house, cheerful community. It has a swimming pool as well. We have Safeway, Walmart, Kaiser, CVS, Lake Elizabeth all within few miles. A very safe community. Whenever we had issues with appliances etc. Kathy and team were always super quick to respond and fix it. It's a good school district and has many good daycare facilities nearby as well. The location is very good. Rooms are spacious. We have very fond memories with Roberts lane townhouses. Will recommend it to anyone. read more

After relocating to the Bay Area for a new job, my family and I were lucky to find this community during a weekend search. The townhouses are spacious for the price and while they are a little bit older, they are well maintained and the maintenance staff will quickly resolve any issues that happen to arise. The apartment manager, Kathy, is extremely friendly, helpful, and responsive. It is a cozy, quiet neighborhood with a lot families and conveniently located near multiple restaurants, grocery stores (Safeway is a 3-5 minute walk away), shopping centers, schools, and churches. A Sunday farmer's market is also within walking distance. Transportation is also very convenient with quick access to the 680 and Mission as well as a new BART station is being built nearby. 4.8 out of 5 stars so I will round up. read more

I lived here for only one year and moved out with my family after we were able to purchase a property nearby. Before Robert's Lane Townhome, I've had experiences with 2 other rental properties in San Jose and Santa Clara. Robert's Lane Townhome is the only place so far that is honest and does not try to scam us. For instance, the previous luxury apartment I lived at near Rivermark Plaza managed to deduct every single penny from our deposit after we moved out. They had wonderful reviews on Yelp and is part of a reputable rental company. Note that we only lived there for one year, and we hired a professional cleaning service after we moved out to clean that place spotless. That place must be hurting bad from people moving out during pandemic and they tried to scam every single thing from their residents. We didn't bother to fight the charge because it was not worth the energy, but shame on them. The other luxury apartment I lived at near north SJ kept adding fees to our lease. We had to pay a trash fee to begin with, and then they were not happy with how people were disposing their trash (aka bring their trash to the trash room), they added extra to the lease such that somebody would come to the door to collect trash every night. When the elevator broke on a weekly basis, they charged extra so that elevator could be fixed! Meanwhile, at Robert's Lane, the manager Kathy is responsive and frankly just HONEST. She sent out emails to remind residents of safety in the community. She and her team made my family feel very safe during the pandemic. Very few things needed repairs while I lived there, and when little things needed some extra attention, she was always attentive and kept us posted with the progress. When we moved out, we decided not to clean ourselves as much and asked the office to do the cleaning for us and we would just pay the fee. We have 2 cats and it's unavoidable that cats would do some damage to the screen door because they are so obsessed with bugs and birds outside in the yard. I was fully prepared to pay for the repair/replacement of the screen door based on my past experiences with rental properties, but Kathy said that they don't do such things here. I was quite shocked at her words because it's the opposite of my expectation. We were able to get most of our deposit back and that was such a refreshing experience! How about just the townhome itself? We had plenty of space. The yard is spacious. We had a garage where we could store a ton of stuff. The appliances were brand-new after the remodeling. The AC is more than functioning during the summer heat wave of 2020. We had ceiling fan that helped immensely upstairs. Plenty of storage place. The townhomes are amazingly sound-proof, I could not hear a beep from our neighbors. Location-wise, it's within walking distance to Safeway and a bunch of wonderful restaurants. We took daily walk with our infant son on a nearby walking trail directly leading to Lake Elizabeth. It really is a wonderful community and we were very happy there. My family loved living at Roberts Lane Townhouses. Great neighbors and kid friendly- I have two young boys and I felt safe letting them play outside with all the other kids either in the playground on in the pool area. There were always parents watching over all the kids to ensure they are safe and the col-du-sac layout makes that the kids don't have easy access to the main road.The staff is polite, professional and there was always timely response with inquiries and if repairs were needed. If you're looking for a spacious, well maintained townhome with a great community; look no further. We lived here for five years with little to no complaints. The location is very central to various amenities and the neighborhood is relatively safe. The complex has a decent sized pool and event room. Residents have the option to park in their driveway and they are allocated an additional spot inside the complex (a first come, first serve basis). Even though there are several families with children living in the complex, noise is not an issue with the sound proof windows. The driveways are well maintained and there is also a mini play area at the back of the complex with monkey bars, a slide and swing set. Safeway is a 5 minute walk away and there are numerous restaurants, fast food places, gas stations and medical facilities within the area. The BART station isn't too far and the Irvington Community park is also easily accessible. Kathy, the leasing manager is a sweetheart and always very helpful. She will troubleshoot any issue that arises and always informs the residents of any changes, upgrades or maintenance being done well ahead of time. She is a gem ! I would also like to give a shout out to the maintenance team, who are very professional and courteous. The townhome we moved into had older units but it was well taken care of. It IS in the process of being upgraded. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a "family friendly" environment or are still in the process of looking for a home. I miss it ! read more

We lived in Roberts Lane Townhouse complex for seven years. We have three kids (9,7 and 4 y.o.). We moved to Sunnyvale after our work place (and kids private school of choice) changed to that location. We highly recommend this place. It is quiet, despite the train tracks (we lived right next to it and could hardly hear anything behind the separating wall). As you can see from other reviews, Kathy, who sits at the office and is the prominent driving force in managing the complex, along with other management members are very nice and helpful. Kathy most definitely exceeded our expectations on any issue we needed help with. The maintenance team is very responsive. I couldn't have asked for a more inviting, safe, and family oriented environment as this place. Growing up in Fremont has allowed me to see the economic and social changes throughout the years, and with these changes there has been a lot of positives and a few negatives. The reason I have stayed in Fremont and raised my children at Roberts Lane Townhouses because the environment is very diverse and safe. As a resident I enjoy the safety of my children being able to play outside for hours due to the active community involvement. The units are large, well managed, the grounds are maintained, and I love the festive decorations during holidays not only done by the residents but management aswell. The work order request system is easily accessible for residents and the time it takes for work to be completed by "Jason" is fast. Jason is very personable with the residents and is willing to ensure a job is completed correctly. Jason goes beyond his job requirements to engage in conversations with residents so they feel comfortable, while staying completely professional. Property manager Kathy Skillern is remarkable at her job, she is very professional and caring towards the residents. Kathy understands the needs of the property, and addresses any issues by ensuring the residents are aware of activities or events that will be taking place on the property. The townhouse had larger rooms than others that I found at the same or higher cost and the location was convenient to shopping and transportation. The manager, Kathy Skillern was very helpful in providing services, handling trash or deliveries when I was away, and was very accommodating in the arrangements when I had to relocate. This is the first place we lived in after we moved back to CA when my husband decided to leave the military. We lived in a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath town home. The rooms were very nicely laid out and spacious. It is true that the buildings were built quite a while back but the property management company had kept up the place pretty well. Whenever I had an issue with anything wrong in my home, Kathy and Wayne were always quick and professional to fix what was broken. Right before I left, they were beginning to renovate several units within the complex. The location is also very nice. You can literally walk to Safeway if you needed something in a pinch. On Sunday morning to early afternoons, you can also walk 3 minutes to the farmer's market right in the Irvington little downtown area. It was definitely convenient. If you have kids, the Irvington schools are also highly rated. Over all, I would recommend anyone to stay here. We eventually had to move away due to budget issues, but we have nothing but good things to say about this place! read more

This is a great place to live and the rent is relatively low compared with other places in the market. Kathy is a wonderful property manager, very nice and easy to work with. The maintenance of this community is very good, both inside and outside the house. Whenever there is something goes wrong, you can always get help quickly and resolve the problem. Our neighbors are friendly, and my son enjoyed playing with all the other kids there. Also, not like a lot of other places they charge you significant amount when you move out, we got our full deposit refunded. We lived at Roberts Lane from Nov 2011 to Feb 2015 and we had a great experience. Property Manager Kathy and maintenance technician Wayne are super nice and professional. I still remember the time we were looking for a place to live when we first arrived at California in 2011. We looked a lot of rentals and was quite down since we did not like any of those. We were thrilled when we arrived at Roberts Lane and decided to live there when Kathy showed us around. It turned out that we made the right choice. Whenever there is something that needs to be fixed, even if you call in the late afternoon, it will still be fixed the same day. There is never an overnight problem. We moved out of Roberts Lane since we decided to move back to east coast. If you are looking for an place to live, go take a tour and you will be wowed. read more

I have nothing but best things to say about this property and it's management. We lived there for little over a year and recently moved out of state. The place is very well kept, the unit we lived in was updated, clean and spacious. They have a nice pool which my kids very much enjoyed. 1 car garage and a space to park another car in front of the garage or in common area if you find a space. They also allow pets. The property manager Kathy is extremely nice and helpful. I'm not sure you will find anyone so kind as her. If there was ever a problem she took care of it. Maintenance guy Wayne is always there to help, always smiling and will always greet you. Property is walking distance from the grocery store, coffee shop and great farmers market. Schools in the area are highly rated. Neighborhood is quiet and safe. Lot's of kids and it is a great family place to live at. Beware! Huge stray cats problem!! Cat dropping/poop all over the property that stink up the whole place. If you have kids then really be careful with this property. Cats have been littering our back and front yards for several months and has made it difficult for my kids to play in the yard. I have informed and attempted to work with the Property Manager for several months but she has been unwilling to resolve the problem thus far. read more
