I remember the first time we toured this place we fell in love with how cozy it was. It felt like a real home and an upgrade to the place we were previously staying. 1 car garage with additional driveway & street parking, in unit washer/dryer, backyard for gardening, upstairs balcony...plenty of space! I could go on about all the good qualities! They all outweigh bad. We had a couple issues with neighbor smoking in the backyard, dribbling basketballs past quiet hours, finding parking after a certain hour but I feel those issues are common things in all apartment complexes. These issues were addressed. Overall, we enjoyed our time. Safety is a priority and we did not encounter a bad experience with theft or break-ins inside the community. (Sometimes we would forget to close our garage over night and everything stayed in place the next morning hehe). Can't forget to mention how close this place is to Safeway. Super convenient. Also a good distance to lake Elizabeth as well. Last but not least, Kathy (manager) and Jason (maintenance) are truly the best people for this job. They are genuine and friendly people who really cares for their community. Quick to respond and addressed concerns promptly. We will miss living within this community. If you're looking for a spot, I highly recommend living here and calling this place home!

They are efficient, friendly, and have supported my wife and I for all those years. My wife passed early this year and they have been supportive in my efforts to downsize and re-organize. I am staying with the property, just teaming up with another tenant (who I had shared one of the units with before). Our unit was a 2 bedroom, 1 & 1/2 bath townhouse. It has a spacious living room (which I turned into a 'hospital care' space when my wife became ill), with 2 bedrooms upstairs. The full bath is upstairs, the half bath is downstairs. When we had any requests, like the reasonable accommodation request for a handicap ramp for the front stairs, they got it done.

My workplace is…read moreclose-by, and sometimes after lunch we walk through the outside ring parking to reach Middlefield and return to the office. Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!

I must say the team is WONDERFUL!! maintenance team is very responsive and gets the work done efficiently. the main office, Mariah and Derek has helped me a handful of times Their response to emails are so quick! The complex itself is nice and well clean. We go tot he gym pretty often and it always mostly clean. The pool area as well is nice except we did have a hard time with one of the grills and i think the grills should be deep cleaned. Another minor complaint is there are times where the trash area gets way too full and filthy, trash overload and sometimes laying out on the floor, which makes this complex look dirty. In my building, we have kids playing soccer near the garage area which we have received multiple emails NOT to play in that area. It would also be nice if someone maintained the leaves area and blow them away or something. when we first moved in i've only seen it once where they did that never saw it happen again. Overall, great place to live. i'd renew our lease!

People frequently do not bother to pick up after their dogs. Every complex I've lived at has dog waste bins and bags conveniently thru the entire property. Avalon has 2? And only near the front. It's crazy to me that with th amount of dogs here they wouldn't want to encourage people to pick up dogs poop and throw it away. Even just one near the mailboxes would be helpful.

WARNING on this property: shady practices; outrageous charges; potentially taking advantage of…read moreelders with language barriers. I signed a lease with Artist Walk Apartments. During our inspection of the apartment on the day of moving in, we found the apartment to be extremely noisy. The noise comes from the bathroom fans that are on 24/7 (you cannot turn it off). We measure the noise to be around 70 dB at highest, 55 dB at lowest. The Fremont noise regulation requires a continuous noise of less than 45 dB at night. Because the apartment does not meet government noise regulation, and we were legit getting severe headches from the noise of the apartment, we immediately requested to cancel the lease. Problem begins: My parents don't speak English well. They arrived at the leasing office first, and were asked to sign the apartment inspection document BEFORE they were allowed to inspect the apartment. They were told that if they don't sign, they aren't abe to get keys. As a result, they were conned into signing the inspection document before we found out that the apartment does not meet government noise regulation. Because we signed the inspection document, the apartment now insists that we have "Moved In", and not only do they refuse to refund our 600 USD deposit, they also requested us to pay two months of rent totalling almost 8000 USD for us to cancel our lease. Please note that we NEVER moved into the apartment, and we requested to cancel the lease WELL within the 24 hours of our apartment inspection. We have reported all of our noise findings to various government agencies, and we are fighting all of the charges through all legal means available to us. Please note that they have initially agreed to "Cancel" our lease, but now threatened us with TWO months rent for "breaking" our lease. They said they would replace the fans, but repeatedly made it clear that it may not solve the issue. Since they cannot promise the issue to be resolved, we insisted on cancelling our lease. So now we have to seek legal means. They have now demanded a payment of well over 8000 USD because we've touched the apartment keys. They refused to admit that their apartment violates the government noise regulation and unethically made my parents sign the inspection document BEFORE they were allowed to inspect the apartment. We requested to cancel the lease PURELY because the apartment noise violates government regulation. Even their own measurements showed a clear violation. In the end, it is the unethical practices from these people that are truly shocking. They clearly think us civilians do not have the means to fight back. The apartment itself shoudn't be allowed on the rental market until all issues are fixed; but in the end there is no easy fix to subpar morals, discrimination, lack of ethics, penchant for manipulation, and a complete disregard of rules, regulation, and human decency. July 11th, 2025: For legal purposes I am writing this update to respond to "Maggie". I have plenty of communication evidence, and formal evidence that I've tried to resolve this issue "informally" with your team. I am no longer interested in circling back and forth with your team. So far, your team have done nothing but gaslight me, provide conflicting accusations that shouldn't make any sense even to yourself. Here is a summary of what you have done so far: 1. I received an application credit of 50 USD. You now said you will be charging me for that because I DID NOT move in, and the credit only applies when I've moved in. 2. You requested that I pay two months rent to "break the lease" because I DID MOVE IN. Note, in previous bullet point your reason for charging me was I DID NOT move in. So which one is it? At this point, it is clear you are just making up things as you go so you can charge me. 3. With all of the above stated charges, you still refuse to refund my 600 USD deposit, for what reason? 4. On July 7th, when we inspected the apartment, we immediately asked for the fans to be replaced. They refused. We asked to cancel the lease. They said we can cancel, but it has to be done immediately. We complied and canceled immediately. 5. A day later, after THEIR OWN measurements showed THEIR OWN noise violation, they tried to glaslight us saying the apartment is fine. They can try to update the fan for us, but it most likely won't change anything. Because they made zero promise to resolve the issue, we insisted on our cancelation. 6. 3 days later, they threatened us saying we broke the lease, and they will be charging us two months rent for breaking the lease; 600 USD for the deposit we already paid; AND they are going to charge me for the application credit of 50 USD I received (see first two points). This experience has been completely insane. I feel like rules are being made up along the way to charge me as much money as possible; these rules came out of no where and were in NO WAY disclosed beforehand.
