I am sad to say we cannot recommend this local, independently owned pharmacy. We switched our…read morefamily's prescriptions over to JDX after Rite Aid closed in our town. We wanted to support a local business. I recently required several prescriptions postop for a knee replacement. There was some drama in that, whatever system JDX is using to process insurance claims was showing me as having no insurance (we called and confirmed with our prescription coverage that I do indeed have insurance). Even with that, we were willing to continue using JDX as cash payment customers. Last week, my surgeon called in a refill of my pain medication. They received the prescription on Tuesday, by the following Monday when I had not received notification that it had been filled, I called inquiring if they had received it. I was then told that the pharmacist needed to speak with my doctor. The girl on the phone stated they needed some more information since I was not an established customer (they had just filled four of my prescriptions five weeks earlier). About 20 minutes later I received a phone call from the pharmacist, grilling me about why I needed this medication (mind you, this was the exact same prescription they had given me five weeks earlier, with no questions asked ). Understanding that it is a narcotic and a controlled substance, I was happy to answer all of his questions. Then he wanted more detail on a known allergy to a similar pain medication that I used several decades ago. Then he wanted to know if I use another pharmacy... I explained that we have an online pharmacy that I use for maintenance medications in which I received a 90 day supply. Our intention has always been to use JDX for those incidental, short term prescriptions that we need from our doctors (we have used this same set-up with other pharmacies, with no issue). He asked why I did not have this prescription for my pain mediation filled online, I explained that I did not need a 90 day supply, and we wanted to fill it locally. The pharmacist then informed me that I needed to either switch all of my medications over to JDX, including the online prescriptions, or not use JDX at all. We opted to discontinue using JDX and will be transferring all of our prescriptions to another local pharmacy. This has been a very disappointing experience.

The lady at the front desk has no respect for people, when my dad found out that the mask that they sold him was not the right one (did not fit for his CPAP) and was not supposed to be for sell we asked for a refund. They acted careless and refused to refund all his money. The price of the mask was $100 and after Michelle (yelling at us) said that they had a non return policy on any of their products, they ended up refunding only $75. This is not right.. Don't ever go to this place

She is petite. Rather than wait until the end of February when her appoinment is, I decided to rent a wheel chair for her. I called Wallace Home Medical Supplies and spoke to Natalie. She told me that they did rent wheelchairs so I drove over to see what they had. She greeted me at the door and asked me a lot of good questions that I didn't think about. She ended up with two recommendations and then she went and retireved them. I immediately went with the smaller one. Renting it monthly was of great value as my wife can't get the referall for the chair for another six weeks! Very courteous, polite, knowledgable and professional.

But...this but is a new approach to my evaluation of Wallace Medical Supplys, because Brian, is not the only one working there. I am having a bad experience with billing. I needed an adjustment in size for a bipap mask. Had an appointment in in Paso. I went down sizes and to take an adequate mask home I had to pay in site and out of pocket. I did! Until now, all is fine! LolNot fine: I have been receiving letters charging me for it, first the 30 dollars now 30 plus 15 of late fee ( 45 dollars). I called and talked to someone and I still am getting bills. I think they should pay the 15 dollars to me as interest of a long done payment and as a consequence for being disorganized and telling me that I had to pay it to take it home and then bill me several times after payment. It never resolves, I already called and told them to review records ( also they told me that it was policy, I could not take it home without paying out of pocket at that time). I have to take my personal time to address this issue and I am offended and stressed.

And Vons, with rather rude people as well, and an insistence on child lock, childproof caps on everything. And they won't change it because, they want everybody to have the same caps. So with bigger cap that's convertible, I can't fit them into my normal storage areas. Anyway not a big deal but the overwork that they suffer, the fact that there are long lines at the CVS store in Marsh and the fact that the Vons people can sometimes be rather rude as well as failing to fill some desperately needed pain medications on time, means I had to find somebody else. Luckily I found Best Care pharmacy. They have always been courteous, helpful, patient, and the place is never crowded, you never have to wait in a long line. As a matter of fact out of the five times I've been there I have only had to wait once for one person in front of me. They are very well staffed. According to the manager, the pharmacy and its medical equipment store has a total of 20 employees. The only thing they lack is what we used to call a fountain back in the '50s and '60s. That's where you could get a soda, a root rear float, a banana split, or a real milkshake. Not a foam shake like you get from McDonald's or in and out burger. But a real milkshake. Anyway my mind is wandering. They're a great place for prescriptions and medical equipment. Try them. You will like them.

Anytime my doctor calls in a prescription, they never bother calling me in order to get the payment so it can be filled. So I have to go out of my way to call the pharmacy to make sure they received the called in prescription, and to pay. Every time I call they have trouble finding the prescription and claim my doctor never called it in even though my doctor has every time and has it on file. I recently just called and was put on hold for 10 minutes only for the person to hang up on me and when I called again I had to listen to more music for the next 5 minutes only to hang up. Absolutely ridiculous and worst customer service, get your shit together Hometown Pharmacy because you are making our hometown look pretty bad for compound prescriptions.
