    Chicken tacos

Wow I can't say enough good things. I drive the I80 corridor often and I'm sad it's taken me this long to find this gem! My plain chicken tacos were (literally) dripping with flavor, soo good! The drive thru was quick and the lady was so friendly. I'll be stopping here every time I drive through!! Low quality picture that I remembered to take after the first delicious bite, but take my word for it!!

I hope this does well! This was a good middle of the road authentic Mexican food experience. It's solid especially for this area of the country. I'm a little disappointed that they don't include rice and beans in the burrito but otherwise it was good. When I don't feel like driving to Lexington for authentic Mexican food this will do just fine.

Best taco's in town. I love the carne asada with a bottle coca-cola. Try the green sauce. #RicoRico

Legit the best Mexican food in town! Everything is very authentic and made to order. The Adobada meat is phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Driving cross country recently, I was made to pitstop in Kearney due to a snowstorm & interstate…read moreclosures. It was already after 9 pm and few food options were available. Searching the web via smartphone, Burgos Queen popped up as an option open late. I'm thankful that this suggestion was recommended over fast food. Driving the roadways, fast food is the most convenient and available option. However, not as tummy friendly as most other foods. Kearney has many options in the FF category and many were still open despite the weather conditions. (By the following morning and with snow, many of the same locations did not open for the day.) While viewing food photos of Burgos on the web, I made a gut choice to try them out based on one specific photo. Their preparation of al pastor (pork) is what caught my eyes. Traditional Mexican street food style on the "trompo." For Americans, this means that the pork is piled onto a "spit" grill. Marinated with a heavy hand and a rind of pineapple sits atop. The sweetness of the fruit blends into the marinade and when meat is sliced, so with it are bits of fruit. Unfortunately due to Covid however, many taquerias (taco joints) have opted to removing the spit/grill and frying the mixture on the grill top. When doing this they often remove the pineapple too. (bah!) Another surprising discovery was their offering of birria! Attention locals.. you are lucky to have a taco joint in town that offers birria. Birria is commonly made from lamb or goat but in the US it is often made with beef, because, Americans..smh. Locals, get you some! Foodies that know about birria are reluctant to find it between our coasts. It was first offered in Chicago but didn't grow in popularity till it hit the food trucks of LA and then NYC. Queen doesn't do the all out preparation/presentation including fried tortillas with cheese, but their consomme that's placed into the taco has an enticing smell followed by flavorful explosion in mouth. It was near closing and I placed a phone order for two birria and two al pastor tacos. Had hoped to try their lengua or shrimp too but they were out or unavailable. For four tacos and a mandarin Jarritos soda, I think I paid about $11 dollars and change before tip. Food was plated onto a styrofoam, rectangular plate and covered with aluminum foil. Once back at the hotel I placed the plate down on the table and got to my wind down routine. Before I could sit down to enjoy my eats, my family had ripped into the carryout. One birria and al pastor was already devoured and red salsa nearly gone! Our room filled with pleasant smells and everyone was asking what, where, why didn't I bring more. I scratched my head about it also.. I cannot believe I found such a tasty taqueria in the middle of Nebraska.. Seriously, stop going to fast food joints and get some tasty tacos! By the next morning we were ready to leave but still wanting a repeat of the tacos so I placed a call to see what time they would open. Unfortunately due to the weather Burgos Queen was closed. However, the nice lady from the night before was there. I complimented them on the delicious food we enjoyed and shared my disappointment not being able to order food for the day. She went on to say, had she more time to prepare, she may have created a carryout for us. If they are still around the next time I'm in these parts, I'm definitely grabbing a bag of tacos! *Details. Despite not having pineapple in the al pastor, the flavors were present and tacos tasty. Many taquerias are careless to overcook pork which in my opinion kills the meat. People are still fearful of undercooking pork. I think they could prepare it low and slow and still turn out a tasty product. If you enjoy beef, the birria is a must. Trying this version first and then having the real deal elsewhere will only expand your enjoyment.

Location is posted For Rent and not open today. Apparently is either shut down or moving. No…read moreactivity and inside appears emptied and already moved out to hopefully new location.
