Trust me, if you click on Google Maps to see the reviews of HU LIN ORTHODONTICS but you don't personally visit Dr. Hu Lin, you will miss one of the greatest orthodontic dentists in New York or even in China. He, with extensive clinical experience, not only has a great command of orthodontic treatment, but also has been equipped with deep knowledge of orthognathic surgery. What surprised me most is that some of the unfriendly reviews had nothing to talk about the dental service and I seriously doubt that they were made up by those who are not patients of Dr. Hu at all. I am a REAL patient who has been through orthodontic treatment for one year and a half at Dr. Hu. I hope to share my experience of the rare and successful TRANSNATIONAL orthodontic - orthognathic surgical treatment. I am a Chinese student pursuing a Master's Degree at Columbia University. I am very fortunate to get the orthodontic treatment at Dr. Hu and have the orthognathic surgery at West China College of Stomatology Sichuan University, the TOP ONE dental school and public hospital in China. It is the rare case even in the history of West China College of Stomatology. I still remember the first time I visited Dr. Hu and read through his experience in the waiting area. I learned that He is now currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Hu Lin has published numerous articles in orthodontic literature and has actively engaged in the clinical research and cooperation with world-renowned maxillofacial surgeons in the United States. Therefore, whether you want to get orthodontic-orthognathic surgical treatment in the United States or in China, I highly recommend him as your orthodontic dentist. When it comes to my orthodontic diagnosis and treatment, Dr. Hu has applied his knowledge and experience in orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery to play a key role. My diagnosis has involved four preoperative assessments. 1. First of all, when I paid the first visit to Dr. Hu, he looked at my teeth structure and found that I had an orthodontic treatment before. He asked me where I did it. I told him that when I was a child, I went to a small clinic for orthodontics but I was so annoyed that teeth have rebounded to their original positions. 2. Further, he explained that in my case, the fundamental problem is the jaw problem rather than teeth problem. The teeth problem is only one of the jaw problems. Therefore, pure orthodontics can't help. 3. Next, he evaluated two treatment options - the use of bone nails versus orthognathic surgery, and concluded that orthognathic surgery is the best option to solve my problems of gummy smile and mouth breathing, and will achieve the perfect combination of beauty, function and health. I am very grateful that he has given me a variety of treatment options, which was totally ignored by the dentist in the small clinic. Such irresponsible decision made by that kind of dentist has greatly delayed the treatment of my jaw problem. . 4. As for the final preoperative treatment evaluation, Dr. Hu used the computer to simulate whether my teeth can be optimally placed and stay in great position with jaw bones after surgery, and whether the perfect combination of aesthetics and the occlusion function can be achieved. Only with all those conditions being achieved can the specific surgical design be further analyzed. I have had orthognathic surgery in West China College on Jan. 2019 and returned to New York to continue my postoperative orthodontic treatment. I am entering into my third orthodontic experience with Dr. Lin Hu. I definitely think Dr. Hu is the best orthodontist in the area. I had a severe open bite that can be very difficult to correct in adults. I was diagnosed as severe jaw problem that needs jaw surgery in a very prestige University Hospital in Shanghai, China. And I was not advised to get any of the surgical orthodontic procedure at that time because of my TMJ problems. About two years ago when I came to the U.S. to study, I saw my orthodontist and jaw specialist at one of the reputable University orthodontic center in Chicago. Due to the complicate problems, orthodontic treatment was given that limited to my top teeth only and the progress was less than satisfy. After I came to New York, I decided to see Dr. Lin Hu, a former orthodontic professor back in Huaxi University, China, trained both in orthodontics and jaw surgery. Dr. Hu also has long time orthodontic experience both in academic and treating patient in the U.S. After carefully reviewed the materials from the University Orthodontic Center in Chicago and thorough exam of my teeth and jaw, Dr. Hu applied a newer treatment that is being used instead of jaw surgery in some cases. I am simply so lucky that I could have found Dr. Hu. He is the most talented, educated Orthodontist I have met. His skill, his knowledge, his confidence, his patience, his perfectionism, his personality makes every visit to him such a wonderful experience. Dr Hu did braces for my daughter who is 16 and myself. I would have never thought I could have my teeth alignment at age of 45. I've had a terrific experience with Dr. Hu and his staff. I am extremely satisfied and quite happy with the results. My treatment started three years ago. That may sound long but I did not have an ordinary case. I consulted with some of the highest ranked doctor in New York, and finally, I had my consultation with Dr. Hu. While Dr. Hu admittedly told me routinely remove four teeth would relieve my crowding and improve aesthetics, however, there were some potential risks in my specific situation! Ultimately, I now have perfect teeth without the four teeth removal! So what others called impossible was reality at Dr. Hu's office. Dr. Hu is hands down the best at what he does. You can tell immediately when you meet him in person. He was always listening, then found an answer and resolved it The atmosphere of all three offices is great. I had my interview come in the next day. The day before I had my braces off. You don't know how happy I was! I have been in braces for 15 months. I went to Dr. Hu because there are lots of spaces between my teeth. First, I would say Dr. Hu is very professional. He checked all my teeth, told me that my space problem caused by several factors. Dr. Hu explained to me that what the braces could do and what could not. I understood braces along might not be able to meet esthetic satisfaction. Second, Dr. Hu is very meticulous. This is an unfinished review. I will write my final review when my treatement is finally over. I've been with Dr. Hu's Orthodontics since March 2015 to fix my abnormal bite. I should have removed 4 teeth, but I did not choose to. I am now on my 2 year of treatment. Due to the nature of my problems, without removing teeth, Dr. Hu had to work very hard for that in order to keep my teeth intact while correcting my bite. I had my invisalign in other orthodontist office but I did not like it. When I smile, I showed a lot of gum. I could even see my roots underneath the gum. I went to Dr Hu's office . He said I had Jaw problem underneath my teeth. Invisalign could not resolve this problem. He also gave me a very good advice how to prevent the damages.
