Dr. Lin was my QME Doctor for Workers Comp. He is a compassionate doctor that actually listens to the patients' problems. I have gone to a few workers comp doctors and a nerve test specialist here in Tracy, and none of them gave me relief. Sad to say the nerve test specialist that I went to in Tracy gave me an excruciating pain during the test in a way I thought I was going to die. The same test that Dr. Lin did for me was almost painless. He even told me that he tests it on himself before he does it to the patients and that he uses the finest needle out there so that the patient feels the least pain. If you're actually selecting a practitioner, odds are you're going elsewhere. My wife was assigned Dr. Lin as a pain management specialist from a workers comp case. Apparently, that is the main focus of Dr. Lin's practice, at least out of this office (he also has a Fremont office). The initial consult was very positive, he actually listened to the description of pain and mapped out a plan of treatment. While it wasn't overly successful, I'd chalk it up to the nature of treatment and not any shortcomings on Dr. Lin as a practitioner specifically. The only area of complaint would be the cortisone injection may not have been quite where it needed to be (as it offered no change in pain levels, but a second one done by a consulting specialist did). Tragically, however, the business side of things. The office in its old location -- just moved this week -- had 11 chairs in the waiting room, and more often than not, they were all filled, with a few folks standing in the hallway outside. If this were a big office, that'd be understandable, but it's not.... it's a one doctor show. The new waiting room is even larger, ugh. Sadly, it seems that even for the monthly or so check-in (how's it going, how's the meds, here's a new note for your employer) is a 30-90 minute wait. One of his four assistants told us this is normal for the office. What!?! Thinking we'd hedge our bets, we tried an appointment right after their lunch break... nope, there were four other appointments at the same time. How's about first in the morning? Strike two; with a few other appointments at 8:30, 8:45 and 9am, the good doctor didn't arrive until 8:53am. Why are appointments set earlier than his arrival? (To be fair, some of the appointments are acupuncture, but still... with appointments every 15 minutes, there's only so many people you can see in that time.) Sadly, there's no apology for the delay, which would soften the blow of far too many afternoons wasted waiting for a somewhat sympathetic nod and a note for work. As no progress has become the norm, Dr. Lin has drifted from his concern about the medical side and repeatedly cautioned on how this or that will affect any settlement payments or if the temporary disability funds will be demanded back by work. (While that may be a valid concern, it's not medically-related, and one the attorney involved has repeatedly assured is not a concern. Fortunately, the attorney doesn't try to practice medicine, just wishing Dr. Lin would focus only on it.) read more

Very over-crowded waiting room! The chairs are arranged so it looks like a movie theatre. Maybe it's to distract patients so they won't notice that you will have to wait over an hour to see Dr. Lin. The staff have a serious "I don't give a sh!t" attitude. I'm a workmans comp patient. Had one acupuncture treatment for my shoulder & I felt worse after I left. Today I'm waiting in his office for over an hour with steam coming out of my ears! All I needed is a doctor's note to return to work. This could have been electronically over the computer. I went to Dr. Lin's office and I was very impressed. He has a brand new office and a large waiting room. His staff were attentive and helped me with my back. Dr. Lin is also knowledgable in eastern medicine, acupuncture, and pain management. He combines the best of eastern and western medicine. The only negative is he is really busy, and sometimes you have to wait for the appointment. But he is really detailed, and he spends a lot of times with his patients and discusses all the treatment options. I would strongly recommend him. read more

Dr. Lin is simply amazing. I've been seeing him for many years do the injury I received at work. He suggested different treatment options which at first I was hesitant to take because I didn't think they would help. However, after receiving acupuncture and massage together it helped resolve one problem I had for many years. I have a repetitive work injury that is never going to go away unless I change job fields. He has made it so that I can make it through each day with the stretches, acupuncture and other suggestions that he gives me. read more

He only spends about 5 minutes with each patient. He talks to me, and VERY QUICKLY asks me where I have pain, and then in 3 minutes he puts in all the needles. When it's done, the nurse comes in and pull out the needles and off you go. For 4-5 other acupuncturists that I've been to, they take the time to carefully adjust the needles, sometimes add low volts, carefully set up the infrared lamps, and when it's done, it's the doctor who would come in to pull the needles out. And then ALL the other acupuncturists would finalize their session with 10-15 minutes of acupressure/massage over the needled or other related areas. - This missing massage my biggest complaint because this is the part that REALLY helps after acupuncture. On the other hand, he charged my first visit double (in ONE single visit) - 1 price for 5 minutes of consultation, and 1 price for the acupuncture treatment. Again, in all the other acupuncture offices that I've been to, if they charge me for consultation, these consultation usually last 15-20 minutes - a full, detailed, complete, thorough understanding of the problem. On my 5th visit, which I had scheduled for "acupuncture treatment", without my knowledge, he changed it to an "office consultation". This second consultation was about 15 -20 minutes, so at least it's a little more thorough, but it offers me no relief and not much boost in confidence in him either. My recommend: Find another acupuncturist out there. There are a lot better ones. Absolute waste of time and money. read more

The management side of things make the experience unbearable. The office is a chaos, appointments are way overbooked, the staff have way too much going on, insurance/referrals are messed up, the wait time is way too long (more than 30 mins to 90 mins, YES 90 mins!), Dr Lin himself seems stressed, runs around the clinic, and cares about getting paid and getting more patients then treatments. He hardly spends time and listens. Acupuncture itself is a wonderful treatment and provides great benefits. It's extremely sad and unfortunate that this office's mismanagement turns something that great into such disaster. I do not recommend. There are much better options elsewhere. read more

No comment on the doctor's expertise, but the manner in which the office is run is deplorable. It is common to wait for 2 hours to see him. During my first visit he was 2 hours late. My next visit was set for 11:00 ... It is now 12:30 as I continue to wait. I had to cancel an appointment I had with a client later in the afternoon due to the delay in seeing me. I spoke to Dr. Lin about the inconvenience and he explained that he has many patients with severe issues and that he likes to spend an appropriate amount of time with each one. He then kindly referred me to another clinic. He seems to gear his business to those who are not currently working so their time is apparently not as valuable as those of us who are gainfully employed. He's a nice enough man though. read more

I would never recommend this acupuncture office to anyone. Dr Lin himself is a very nice person however his staff is rude, very unprofessional. The women who answer the phone there are rude as well. They are not helpful at all and have a terrible attitude. The staff is responsible to remove the needles after the accuputure session, they normally will come 10-20 minutes after the timer goes off. Because of the STAFF I decided to go to Dr Shen at Eastern Medical Center in Pleasanton. The staff there is really friendly, Dr Shen is great, she really takes her time with the patients. If you would like to deal with an abrasive receptionist with zero customer service skills while she acts like she's doing you a huge favor by making an appointment for you, this is the place for you! I was forced to consider using this place for acupuncture due to Dr. Lin being in the worker's comp "network". However, after attempting to make an appointment - I cannot trust the judgment of a doctor that would employ a receptionist that is nothing but an enormous headache. My suggestion - use Eastern Medical Center in Pleasanton. They have helped my pain go away and the receptionist is lovely. Unfortunately, they are not in the worker's comp network. read more

This doctor is awful!! he should get his license revoked he's so bad!!! He is very much about money and pushes his references on his patience. The wait can be anywhere from an hour to 2 hours and the staff takes no responsibility. They clearly do not care about their patience, all they care about is pushing patients through so that they can make more money. I agree, it is essentially the McDonald for patience. Please turn around and find a better doctor out there. Our bodies are important and do not let this doctor attempt to cure you. I am really frustrated with this whole experience. Staff are rude, do not care about patient care. They look at you as if you come from a different planet. After waiting AGAIN for an 1hr 30 min today for an appt, I walked out. First impressions are the front desk personnel, and they make this place trash. The only person in this medical office who is respectful and seems that he cares about the patients is Salvador, the translator. This place either hires new employees or trains them in how to provide at least AVERAGE patient care, and learn how to schedule patients so they wont have to wait 1 hr 30 min. read more

He has me enrolled in a Functional Restoration Program at Oasis Pain & Wellness Center upstairs from his office. The FRP program helps to manage and cope with pain. They have a variety of activities. Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation, exercise therapy, art therapy, nutrition, psychological counseling. The FRP staff helps each patient with their individual needs. They are kind and caring. I took my mother-in-law to Dr. Lin for post-shingles pain. Wait was two hours! Yes 2 hours. She is in a wheelchair and on oxygen. I was starting to worry that the oxygen cylinder might not last long enough to get through the appointment and back home. Once we got into the examination room, Dr. Lin went through the obvious motions and agreed to prescribe Lidocaine patches for her (30 day, non-refillable). When it came time to refill, his office wanted us to schedule another appointment. After a lot of begging and pleading, we were able to get one refill. What a joke. In looking and listening to the 15 other people sitting around the waiting room, I think Dr. Lin makes his $$$$$$ off of work-related injuries and lots of return visits. read more

Severe pain at the base of my neck, through my left shoulder, and down my left arm. MRI ordered by my orthopedic surgeon, prior to seeing Dr. Lin. Diagnosis by Dr. Lin, "tight trapezius muscle" pinching the nerve in my back. he says further the muscle is spasming. he recommends acupuncture twice a week for 6-8 treatments, then evaluate for trigger point injection. (my pain level is 7+ at my first visit) i asked Dr. Lin if muscle relaxers would help and he says "yes." I further asked him if he would prescribe this RX for me, and he says to have my orthopedic surgeon prescribe them...... of course when I called my orthopedic surgeon, he said the muscle relaxer RX must come from Dr. Lin, since Dr. Lin diagnosed me. After four sessions of acupuncture, with Dr. Lin, and no relief, I went to a neck/back specialist that my orthopedic surgeon recommended. The MRI was reviewed ( which Dr. Lin never looked at ) and I was told, the nerves C2-3 through C6-7 are being touched/aggravated, and that is the reason for my pain NOT a tight trapezius muscle. I was prescribed neurontin, which took my pain from a 7-9 to a 2-4. An epidural was recommended also, which I had done, with successful results! I am glad I went with my gut, cancelling further appointments with Dr. Lin. read more

The office help is rude and at my last appointment was told they ran out of receipts for my co-pay - how hard is it to have receipts. the wait time time is on average 2 hours - if you have any other options take them. I've been to a few pain specialists but not one of them and I mean not one one of them compares to Dr. Eduardo Lin. As a result of the few appointments with him, my faith in the Doctor's word has increased. Dr. Lin has made me a believer that not all doctors are just out there for your money.
