Food was awful, we ordered the garlic bread which was just Hawaiian rolls wirh a little bir on chopped garlic on top. Ordered glasses of white wine and the pours looked very small for $7 a glass. We asked the manager on the second round we recieced them like this to double check it and the correct por ahould have been almost double what we recieved. We were never compensate for the 4 glasses of under poured wine. The grouper was very overcooked. The fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp was all cream with overcooked inedible shrimp. The risotto that came with the chicken Marsala tasted like yellow rice with American cheese. We spoke to the manager about our complaints but he never did anything to make it right. read more

I am an Italian food snob. Raised in a Sicilian neighborhood in Chicago, and have eaten at many Italian restaurants in New York and Italy. This food was shockingly fantastic. I say that because who would expect that in Cancun. Seafood was cooked perfectly - not the sadly common overcooked. Served hot. Pasta was prepared al dente - again not common enough. The best Italian restaurant in cancun, don't be fooled by the average looking entrance. The inside of this restaurant is amazing, the seating is next to a lagoon and it's truly something else compared to other places. The food was incredible and portions were generous, price was definitely deserved. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and polite, they clearly cared about their customers as they made sure to ask us if the food was right to taste and temperature. Not to mention how quick staff were to help us if we needed anything else. Overall atmosphere was better than anything we could have asked, highly, highly recommend. read more

A friend of mine (who has family in the area) recommended this restaurant and I was very glad that a bunch of us dropped by during our stay in Cancun. Service: The service was top notch! We always had clean utensils or plates in front of us. Our cup was always filled with sangria. And our food was served hot and in a very timely manner. Our server, Pedro, was very attentive and always smiling! Food: They provide complimentary garlic flat bread and it is made fresh to order each time. The spaghetti bolognese (as simple as it is) will blow your mind. It was a generous portion, so make sure you share it! We also ordered the ravioli, chicken Parmesan, chicken Marsala and the seafood linguine. All dishes were of generous portion and tasted very rich in flavour. Unfortunately, we didn't leave room for dessert... But that just means we will have to come back here again ;) Atmosphere: Very romantic. Dim lights, comfortable seats, with beautiful views of the lagoon. You can either choose to sit outdoors or indoors. We opted for indoor as we wanted to enjoy the air conditioning. The restaurant also had a bag holder available by the table to put your stuff on. To top things off, there was a pianist that played great tunes half way through the night!! The only negative comment I have (which explains the 4* rating) is that they try to serve you bottled water without mentioning the charge of ~$7usd. Perhaps it was a slight miscommunication since I don't speak Spanish, but still... Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you want a good change of atmosphere from the resorts that you are staying at in Cancun. It's an easy ten minute walk from la Isla, or a ten minute bus ride from any resort at the top of the seven. read more

I found this gem when I accidentally took the wrong way. From the outside, I didn't see the beautiful inside dining room right on the water. Since it was early, I was the only guest and had a table right at the ceiling. The view is absolutely amazing, especially the closer it gets to dawn. I ordered pasta with sea food and as dessert the chocolate lava cake. It was not the best I've ever had but still pretty good. The staff was super friendly and I felt welcome right away. Special tip: I asked the waiter if the warning signs for crocodiles were real and he said the crocodiles are like pets for them. Everyday between 6-8, they get closer to the ceiling and people that ordered lobster throw the shells in the water for the crocodiles to eat them. Definitely something to see :) read more

I was so excited to try this place out I love Italian food and it was actually my first meal in Cancun I was a little nervous because the place was empty there wasn't one person in the restaurant and it was lunchtime 1 PM The host puts us at the best table in the house literally over the water I felt like we're on a cruise ship I was so excited to eat and enjoy some Italian food until my server walked up then it all went bad I had a bottle of water in my hand and he said I was not allowed to drink it that I had to purchase their water. What a gem in the hotel zone. Every table is wonderful, the food was awesome- best gnocchi I've ever had. The detail in the restaurant is unbelievable. The wood floors, the stained glass windows, the elegant table settings are unmatched. This place would cost you $150 per person in the states and you wouldn't be able to get in. He was a classy server made great suggestions, changed our flatware between each course. Absolutely our favorite restaurant in Cancun! Great setting on the lagoon. Excellent service. Big menu full of many Italian and some seafood options. I had the veal medallions which was served with a side of fettuccine...one of the best veal dishes I've ever had! Super thin and done perfectly! We also had a couple of different salads that were both excellent. The pizza was very good as well. When you walk into a restaurant that's almost empty except for 2-3 groups you raise eyebrows if you've made the right decision.. I was not overly disappointed. The service is impeccable, very attentive waiters and offering suggestions, explanations and advice when indecisive. 10/10 service with two waiters per table too. The food was good. Not great but good. The red sauce was a big flavourless, needed more seasoning or herbs or over cooked maybe taken all the tomato flavour out or watered down too much. Martini's were great, sweet and good selection of drinks. The only sting in my opinion would be the price. I found it quite expensive for what it was, especially being in Mexico and when I converted it back to AUD not cheap. The cheapest bottle of white wine you could get is $500. Overall great time I wouldn't go again purely because I've seen it now I'll try elsewhere. read more

We found this place looking for a reservation on Open Table. What a fabulous choice and a reservation was a good choice as well. Our table was perfect overlooking the lagoon. Our waiter, Gerardo, was very attentive and helpful with our choices. My husband and I shared the house bread, which was similar to Naan. Fresh and flavorful. Our appetizer was their Pear Spek which was DELICIOUS. Next we shared the Pasta E Fagioli which they were kind enough to serve in separate bowls. For dinner I enjoyed Penne Bolognese and my husband had Fettucini Alfredo (to which he added shrimp and pancetta). The host and Gerardo offered suggestions on wine, of which we ended up with 2 bottles thanks to Taxis in the Hotel Zone! Most importantly the locals were very envious when we told the bellman, the taxi driver, etc where we were going. It is a a local favorite as well. We were too full to consider dessert, but they looked wonderful as well. Price was reasonable as our dinner with the 2 bottles of wine was $137. Incredible and well worth a visit. Awesome restaurant that I would highly recommend. The view is unreal and almost makes you feel like you're in Venice with the open-style seating and lights. We even saw an alligator that came swimming by! (Not a danger at all as it was lower than the restaurant) The service was also outstanding - a server saw someone at our table scratching a mosquito bite and came over immediately with a bottle of bug repellant without anyone asking. They were always attentive and courteous. The food was also great. The portions could be a little bit small but the taste was top notch.
