Best TarTar Best Carpaccio best coconut shrimp best shrimp taco BEST Chamorro I've ever had. Ok I admit it was my first time and it was amazing. My family & friends enjoyed the environment with good AC (it's a humid night) & with a stunning view of the lagoon. At night this place transforms itself into a tree house atmosphere with the mangrove growing up through the patio lit up with sparkling lights! It's magical! It's in the hotel zone very hard to find (next to budget & xoxo) so worth the find! Owned by a wonderful family it's a wonderful secluded experience not to be missed! Dress is a nice casual & comfortable both inside and out! Looking to get engaged or have a romantic dinner this might be just the right choice. Check it out if you're in town! read more

Agua Santo is a restaurant on the lagoon side with views of a small yacht area and the water. There's not really any signage for this place visible from the street... it is just on the end, with stairs to descend into the restaurant. My waiter was pretty good, pretty attentive, but it really wasn't busy at the time I went. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with tartufo, at the time I didn't realize it was mushroom, I thought it was something else, but it turned out to be OK. The sauce is not thick at all.... it's just kind of a buttery half-and-half sauce... so the sauce does not adhere to the noodles. I got one small piece of bread on the side, which actually turned out to be OK since it was pretty warm. The service was good, so it went up to 3, but the pasta dish was not really worth it. read more

We accidentally found this restaurant one afternoon last summer (June 2017) when we walked across the street from our resort (Royal Sands) to the XOXO market. This restaurant is difficult to spot because it is located downstairs on the waterfront (lagoon side) and not up at street level. We came back that night for dinner and learned from the owners that they had just recently opened up. This is why we were not surprised by the amazing service we received that night as well as the great food and exceptionally reasonable pricing (1 steaks, 2 fish, 1 bottle of wine and after dinner drinks for 3 for under $100 USD). We were seated on the patio with a front row view of an amazing sunset. We returned this year (June 2018) and were delighted to find: (1) they were still there; (2) the owners were still greeting every guest and welcoming them to their establishment; (3) our waiter, Jose, (who happened to be the same one we had from the prior year), was still offering amazing service; (4) the food was even better than the year before with an original and tantalizing twist added to every dish (be sure to order the bruschetta as an appetizer); (5) the recommended wine as well as the original after dinner drinks were spot on; (6) the pricing was more than reasonable Although we had wonderful weather for most of our stay, it started raining (more like a torrential downpour) that morning. The owners therefore notified the concierges at the various surrounding resorts that they would be happy to come and pick guests up and drop them back off after dinner so they did not need to hail a cab or try to walk over in the rain. To some, this may sound like a desperate measure, but I assure you this is just one of those establishments that goes way above and beyond to cater to its patrons' every need. Of course, with the advent of the great and almighty "all inclusive," many resort guests feel compelled to stay on their property to get every dime out of the daily rate. This, of course, is wreaking havoc on these amazing little, family-owned establishments. Do yourself a favor--if you must justify the amount your daily allowance, do it on breakfast, lunch and possibly drinks at your resort then wander over to this wonderful little gem. I promise you will be sold just like I am on this being a "must do" when visiting Cancun. read more

We all ready made another reservation for our last night here! First of all we were sent here based on a recommendation from the jw hotel where we are staying and we all agreed it is the best place we have been here in Cancun! Yasmin - our concierge recommended the mango margaritas and the pear pizza and both were phenomenal and exactly what we were looking for. The tuna tar tar and the bruschetta were equally amazing. Beyond the food, what made this place our favorite was the sunset view and the staff. The owner Jacqueline and our waiter Jose Luis were just so delightful and genuinely enjoyed being there and make an effort to talk to us. This is not a tourist trap but more of a hidden gem! Walking to the restaurant, we didn't even realize it was there. It is hidden in a corner with an unbelievable deck and view. The prices are more then reasonable for everything you get here and I cannot recommend it more. We all ready can't wait to go back Tuesday night! read more

This place is definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant in Cancún. The prices are very affordable and the ambiance is absolutely amazing - especially at sunset. I came here twice with my family on consecutive evenings and thoroughly enjoyed each experience. The owner and family was even kind enough to set up a special table for my birthday on the second evening! The food is awesome, and I love the new food that they are developing for he menu. I've been coming to Cancún annually for more than fifteen years now, and Agua Santa definitely helped make my birthday this year super special. I love this place !!! The view and location is amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing and supercool. The food is fresh and delicious!! It's a must visit place when in Cancun ! The sunsets are the best I've ever seen. My husband fell in love with the Chamorro ( pork shank) it fell of the bone and so very tasty , the pear pizza is devine, the rib eye tacos were the tastiest tacos I've ever had and lastly the passion fruit pie was heavenly!! Tuesday evening in July Setting is great. We had the outside dock to ourselves. Food and service were ok. Ordered the surf & turf, later to be told they had no turf. So I ordered the sea bass catch of the day. My wife the penne. Both were fine, good for the price. The service was friendly, but at times too friendly and chatty. My husband and I absolutely LOVE Agua Santa! We went when the restaurant first opened early this year and each time we come back to vacation in Cancun we go back. The food and drinks are so delicious, as well as reasonably priced and the service cannot be topped. Everyone is so friendly, personable, accommodating and professional. The employees as well as the atmosphere makes it extremely enjoyable. I cannot get over how beautiful the deck and view is. It's so modern and comfortable and cozy. It's definitely lots of fun, yet very relaxing and zen as well. Unfortunately we are leaving Cancun in a few days, but we will definitely be back a few more times before then to enjoy some amazing food, drinks and beautiful scenery! This is a brand new (16 days as of this review) Italian restaurant located in the Hotel District of Cancun. The have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is on the water next to a marina. My wife and I "stumbled" onto the place when the restaurant we were heading to was closed for a private party. Lucky for us that it was! We started with the tuna trataré which was divine! Marinated in citrus and topped with sesame seeds. The food presentation was very professional and the serving sizes are appropriate. The servers are very attentive and eager to please. Only two recommendations: a pepper mill would be a welcome offering when the salads are served and linen napkins. We went last year when they first opened - twice, we liked it so much, The staff was great! Since then we have seen sketchy reviews and were not going to go back, but decided to anyway. They had all the doors and windows open and it was stiffling! At some point they realized they needed to turn on the AC. There was a smoke detector that obviously needed a battery - right over our heads - incessently chipping. When we pointed it out to the manager, he just shrugged. We were so disspaointed with the experience - the food is still very good - the pear pizza is divine - but they need help with making their guests feel special. There were three other tables inside and all looked uncomfortable. Hopefully just a bad night fo them as it is charming. read more

The electricity was out on what seemed like most of the hotel zone but because they cook mostly with gas, they remained open. The staff and owners were Incredible, especially out server, Jose. They gave us free drink coupons when we left and couldn't have been nicer. The food was also very good, and after eating Mexican for 5 days straight, welcomed change. Wow! The food is incredible, we have tried 7 dishes here already and every one is excellent. The service is 5 star, the quality of food is 5 star, and the energy in the place is 5 star. The pear pizza is my favorite and is one of the best pizzas I have ever had in my life. If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Wonderful view, great food and reasonable! It's a bit hidden but it's right on the bay.

This restaurant is a solid option in the hotel zone. The meal was fantastic. Started with the carpaccio with truffle oil. It was delicious. We had the lobster which had an amazing garlic, ginger sauce. The sea bass was cooked correctly and was also delicious. The other dinner had a salad that he enjoyed. This place was awesome. We sat on the deck, and had an amazing view of the sunset while we had dinner. My seared tuna was incredible. The caesar salad was good, but the dessert - it was a cabernet ice cream special - was flipping incredible. Really. It far surpassed almost everything I've ever had for dessert. Only con is that the menu is a little odd and limited, but literally everything else (service, food, location) was impeccable. Highly recommend! read more

This restaurant checked all the boxes: delicious food, great, fast service, nice ambiance, and very reasonable prices. It's on the lagoon, so great sunset view. I think one of the things I liked the most is that you can see right into the kitchen and see about 6 people spring into action and watch them prepare your food. We meet the chef and owner. Sorry no photos but went there tonight, staying at the Ritz and was looking for something different. I had the Agua Santa salad to start, very tasty and quick and efficient service. I then had the catch of the day, which was some kind of flat fish, in garlic sauce and it was also excellent! The service was good, there was a hostess that spoke excellent English which really helped. The price was very reasonable. The only knock I would have is there no no bread offered either before or during the meal, the accompanying vegetables were scarce and the napkins were paper and very small. The sunset was amazing and could be viewed from almost everywhere in the restaurant. All in... well worth it! read more

This is a remarkable hole in wall across the street from the Ritz Carlton in Cancun. Sits on the shore of the lagoon with excellent views, great service, quality Italian food, fair prices, and a wonderful staff. We've been at the Ritz for a week and have another week to go. We wish we had found Agua Santa sooner! This was our first pizza down here....excellent thin crust dish! Will certainly be back again before leaving. Highly recommended!! read more

I don't know what the problem was at Agua Santa tonight but there was definitely a problem. We are there one day last week and all was very good, tonight you would have thought we were at a different restaurant. The service was absolutely awful. I don't know if they were short staffed or it was just too busy but I can't even begin to describe how bad the service was. We waited forever to order, waited for bread and rolls and our beverages. A few of us were only drinking water and getting a refill was like pulling teeth. I ordered the salmon which to me was not good at all. It was very fishy tasting and very salty. I do not like salty food do I only ate my vegetables. I guess I'm more annoyed because no one bothered to ask how my food was. You'd think when I gave the waiter who was clearing the table a full entree to discard he'd think to ask. The food is not cheap there do this annoyed me but I wasn't going to argue. One of the folks in my party ordered food which came a full 15 minutes after everyone else. The owner came over and this mans wife spoke up so she said she'd come his meal but really never bothered to as anyone else how their meal was. I figured I'd just get dessert and be done with it. My friends wanted caramel crepes ,which are supposed to be very good there. The owners wife told us they had caramel crepes but the kitchen was so busy trying to get out other food she didn't even want to ask them to make that and we could wait 20 minutes or so and they could make them. We had a lovely table outside but she told us to go inside, watch the game (game 7 of World Series) and she'd get them for us and come the dessert. For me it was warm inside and the game was on in Spanish. I was already very annoyed with my dining experience and wanted to get back to the resort and watch the game do I asked for my check ( yes I paid for it all even though I only ate the vegetables) and left so I could get back and at least be able to enjoy the game. I was very disappointed in this evening. In almost 2 weeks in Cancun this was the worst dining experience I had. I can't say I'll go back there based on this evening. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the other night I had s good meal. read more

We are always happy to try new restaurants, and this one in the hotel zone is a winner! We were welcomed by Stephanie who greeted us with a big smile and escorted us to a lagoon side table. Our server, Manuel, was friendly, fun and efficient. Our drinks, cold tequila and a tamarind martini, were very good. Stephanie, we learned, is one of the family who owns this business and gave us her suggestions and specials. We shared a caesar salad that was very good and was served on two plates. My husband and I both had tuna. It was a very good portion of thick tuna cooked as ordered with an amazing crust. So flavorful that it tasted a little like steak. I couldn't finish mine and took it home for a yummy lunch. We were served warm rolls with our meal and the accompanying vegetables were cooked perfectly. My husband remarked on how good the mashed potatoes were. Coffee at the end of the meal was very good (and he's an expert on good coffee), but we were blown away by the "corn pie" that came warm and tasted like custard. Fabulous. Fortunately, we are here for a while and will have time to return several more times with friends. Good show! read more
