The beef empanada was really good, though I think the ají sauce could use a little more flavor. I originally came craving their pollo a la brasa, but unfortunately it's not available at this location, so that craving will have to wait. I ended up ordering the whole fried fish instead, and it was good. The ambiance was great, the service was friendly, and overall I had a nice experience. I'd definitely come back to try other dishes.

This location of this chain is my favorite one. Easy parking available nearby. The food is always delicious. The Peruvian cocktail, Pisco Sour, made to perfection. Never disappoints. Lots of options to choose from in each category.

The hype around this place was insane, so I'll admit my expectations were probably a little too high going in. The food is clearly great quality, the interior is beautiful, and the service was excellent. That said, my dish ended up being a bit too salty for my taste, which took away from the overall experience. Drinks were solid though. Definitely a good spot, just didn't quite live up to the buzz for me. I'd come back for drinks and apps! I wonder if they do Happy Hour.

This place is a party the minute you walk in. So if you're in the mood for music that has you gyrating in your seat or getting in the mood to dance, Limon never disappoints. With that said, it's a great place to celebrate! I've already been to this location a couple times and was delighted we were getting a Limon in the Redwood City area. The seafood is always delicious and fresh. The empanada sampler is a great appetizer- very simple with no more than the chicken, beef, cheese or mixed veggies in each. I have never seen scallops on the shell anywhere around here and last enjoyed them abroad. Those are prepared nicely with some latin flavors to enhance. The pisco sours are what I always go for. They're also known for their chicken which is delicious rotisserie. Apparently, it's no longer being served?? I hope they bring it back. I loved their chicken! If you have a spicy tongue, you have to ask for their hot sauces also. The red one is nice but the green one is the best and has a sharpness to it. Service is always excellent whether at the bar or on the floor. Everyone no matter who is serving you is solicitious and attentive if your server or bartender is not present and something is needed. Limon has always been a favorite of mine whether in SF, peninsula or Mt. View. You bet I'll be sauntering into Limon again sometime soon!

First time to Limon and had an amazing experiences. Got their signature dish, calamari with yuca fries, and cauliflower. Everything is amazing. Flavorful, fresh, well presentation. The servers are very friendly. Food came out efficiently despite being a busy Saturday dinner. Will for sure come back, maybe next time for birthday celebration. They offer special birthday dessert celebration with a small firework. There were multiple tables here for celebration when I was there!

Absolutely delicious! This restaurant is a little on the pricey side but it's a good spot to splurge at. Every single thing I tasted had such great flavor. The arroz mariscos is probably the biggest serving. So if you're really hungry I would recommend that one! It has mussels, shrimp, and fish. We were celebrating a birthday and right before coming to our table to sing they turned up the music in the whole restaurant and really made the birthday feel special. Service was also spot on. Refills came quickly. Plates were cleared as soon as we were finished. We had a party of 6 and gratuity was included in our bill. Will definitely recommend this spot to friends and family. It's a great spot for a date night.

My husband and I have always loved going to Limon in Burlingame and we especially love the Redwood City location. The atmosphere and overall decor inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. We love the service we receive every time- the staff are always so attentive and friendly. The food also is so good- we recently tried some of the sushi rolls specifically at the Redwood City location ontop of other classics like Lomo Saltado, yuca and platanos fritos. Might I also add- their drinks are phenomenal!

Ceviche Camarones with Yuca chips maybe?

For my visit, the hospitality was top notch and the food, very delicious. Came in for lunch with two friends. We ordered: Camarones Crocantes $20: yummmm, saucy, crispy. I could order a plate to eat as a meal. Bruselas $12: Also yum! I didn't expect much, but it was pleasantly tasting veggie dish. Great to order and snack on. Ceviche Limón w/ taro chips $30+: you request the taro chips, but I don't remember seeing it on the menu or where my friend saw it. She just asked for it and they brought it out. Really good choice, the chips were perfect with the ceviche. Lomo Saltado $34: friend said it was salty, which I'm not surprised with the name haha, but it came with seasoned rice that I thought could cut through the saltiness well. Half Chicken $24: the chicken was bomb. Good seasoning and still very moist and tender. The skinny fries were okay, but forgettable, and it came with a nice salad to cut through the savory dish. My favorite part was the aji amarillo sauce. No idea what's in it, but I loved it. I would have preferred thicker fries for this dish. It's a solid lunch choice if you're deciding where to eat with coworkers, and it's a great choice for bringing a client. The staff were incredibly professional and attentive. We went a little after noon for lunch and it wasn't too crowded (just three tables including us). If you need to have a more private or intimate conversation, there's plenty of seating for that. It's a good place to eat at again to try other dishes. I want to order my friend's ceviche dish next time, the arroz con mariscos dish, and the nikkei rolls. I saw they also have a Mountain View location, so I'll be giving that place a try soon.

Came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner with 2 friends and had a reservation. The interior is very well-decorated and pretty. The music can be a bit loud, and it you have a birthday, they crank up the music as the staff comes out with a dessert and a sparkler (this place seems popular for birthdays, we saw 3 celebrations here). Our food came out relatively fast and were in good portions. I got the Mixto Rocoto Ceviche with Taro Chips and the Chicha Morada. The drink was a good sweetness that complemented the dish well. Plenty of tender seafood, and the Taro Chips are a must to contrast with some saltiness and starch. Good place for Peruvian food, would come back again!

Managed to get a walk in table outside on a Saturday evening with no reservation. The service was very good. The wait staff came to our table quickly gave us water and gave us time to browse the menu. The food arrived quickly. It was exceptionally good with good portion sizes beautifully presented flavourful and delicious. There was a DJ playing music. We were sat next to the speaker so it was a little loud but it made for a fun atmosphere. I would recommend Limon in Redwood City.

Ribeye with fries and extra Chimichurri (2oz)
    Vanessa D.

I've lost count of how many times I've been to Limón in Redwood City & lowkey shocked this is my first review. Short story short, this is one of my faves and have gone to 4 of their locations. My standard order is the lomo saltado with chicha morada--sometimes the classic drink, sometimes the chicha morada sour--and it never misses. On my most recent visit, I switched things up and ordered the ribeye but asked for fries instead of the potatoes it usually comes with. Honestly? Game changer. The server even commented he'd never seen anyone order it that way before, and it ended up being incredible--basically a Peruvian take on steak frites. I also tried extra chimichurri, but for future me (and anyone else ordering): the sauce you really want extra of is the other one that comes with the dish. The chimichurri is fine, but the star is the original sauce. A couple other things worth noting: * Service is consistently fantastic, whether I come on a random Thursday lunch when the place is quiet or during a packed dinner service. * The food quality is always spot on--flavorful, satisfying, and honestly addictive (if I had a therapist, they'd probably call it an obsession). Bottom line: Limón is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. If you're in Redwood City and craving Peruvian food, you CAN go wrong if you don't come here

Not new to Limón Restaurants as my first visit was about 20 years ago to their original location in the Mission District, San Francisco. Limón features their usual modern take on Peruvian cuisine & Latin Asian influences and has since expanded to 5 other locations. I've been to the Walnut Creek and frequent the Mountain View location and most recently, the newish location in Downtown Redwood City. Interior is beautiful and modern - integrating natural elements like plants and natural materials into the space that makes it so inviting and draws you in. Love! First visit was about a month ago and seated at the bar which was perfectly fine. If you don't have a reservation and party of 2, you will be seated there or have the option of outside (few tables). Recent visit was last night and made a reservation for 3. With both visits, service is friendly, helpful and professional. Mario was our server (7/10/25) and was very patient explaining the menu items as my friend is particular (eye roll). Dishes are nicely prepared and cooked perfectly but can be overly seasoned or too much sauce and noted on both visits. BRUSELAS - Roasted brussel sprouts, ginger miso glaze. parmesan cheese. First bite good then you get any brussel sprout with glaze and it's salty!! 3/5 this dish would benefit from LESS is more. PIQUEOS (small plates) to try: :: JALEA - fried calamari, white fish shrimp - lightly battered with a delicious yuzu :: CAMARONES CROCANTES Lightly battered jumbo shrimp, rocoto-sriracha aioli, & green onions. - light and delicious with the accompanying sauce :: EMPANADA SAMPLER - cheese, mushroom, beef and chicken - all yummy :: POLLO ALA BRASA - Served with ají amarillo sauce, french fries, and house salad. - Simple, juicy and delicious They now have a Nikkei Rolls menu available with about 7 options. Ordered: :: BEEF ANTICUCHERO Shrimp tempura & avocado roll, topped with seared beef tenderloin (on the side) for the vegetarian. Meat on its own was salty as well. I'm sure with the roll it would've balanced a bit. Didn't order any ceviche these visits but will definitely get it next time I visit on my own. DRINKS - nice and strong - had the sangria and pisco sour and it hit me with one drink! Bartender was nice and friendly and busy with the drink orders. Overall, really like the Redwood City location vibe and variety of food. FEEDBACK: cut back on the sauces and salt and dishes would be great. I see it's mentioned in about 8 other reviews as well so not isolated to my 2 visits. Happy Hour pricing from 3-6pm. Pricing $$$ (small plates average $20) but worth a visit. Street parking and paid lots available

    At the ceviche bar ...

This is going to be our neighborhood favorite for special (or any) occasions! Walked in on a Friday evening without prior reservations, but we able to get seated by the vehicle bar right away. If you can, make reservations for a table, since the vibe is cool, hip and elegant. We started of with the spicy ceviche, the ceviche Límon which we got with the taro chips for an extra charge, and the trio of leche de tigre. Both ceviches cake with crunchy Peruvian corn, did not smell the least bit fishy, were delicious with a perfect combination of salty, sour and fresh sea food. However, they both tasted very similar and it would have been good had it server informed us of that when ordering. The taro chips added a great crunch and complemented the softness of the ceviche beautifully. The trio of leche de tigre were much appreciated too. Next we got the whole fried snapper, the pork belly with fried rice, chicken skewers and beef tongue served with mashed potatoes. Everyone loved the entrees, but thought the pork belly dish was a bit too salty and paired in comparison to the others. The portions were generous and prices reasonable for the portions. Being too full after all this good we had to pass on the dessert, but we now have a favorite Peruvian spot in the neighborhood!

Found this place randomly on yelp and decided to try it with zero expectations. As soon as we walked in, we were hit by the live music and fun atmosphere. We ordered the NY steak for our daughter. We were going to order it cooked medium for her but most places usually overcook the steaks so we went with medium rare. This place does not overcook their steaks. It came out medium rare and maybe rare in some parts. It tasted great but we did try to cut around the rarer parts for our daughter. She ate half the steak and loved it. I ordered a seafood dish in tomato cream sauce and it was so good mixed with rice! My husband got the saltado with fried fish and that was good too, but maybe the fried fish on fries was a little too much fried stuff. Everything tasted great and service was friendly. I loved the music but it was a little too loud for my daughter even though we were pretty far back already. We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.

The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Sushi in a Peruvian restaurant? However, I did not expect to be one of the best and interesting rolls I have tried ever. The arroz con mariscos was my favorite by far. It really reminds me of a Spanish paella, with a seafood galore presented with a bed of rice and veggies. It was very filling and delicious. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. The owner, Marianne, studied at Cordon Bleu, and trained in famous kitchens like French Laundry. It all makes sense why the pastry is so amazing. Thank you El Sur! You are definitely on my list of greats!

Highly recommend!

I've been coming to Milagros my whole life, but now I'm finally reviewing it! This is one of my top…read more5 favorite restaurants in the area. I usually order Pozole, but that dish is only during the winter time. So I ordered a cup of tortilla soup! The chicken was fresh and delicious, and the broth was so good I drank it all. The salsa trio is always my favorite appetizer because of the spicy mango salsa! I finish it every time. I also got the Plátanos cubanos, but I got the toppings on the side so I could enjoy their plantains by themselves. As an appetizer, snack, meal, or dessert, plantains are the best. I ordered a side of rice with my steak tacos too, and I have to say this rice is the most similar to the type my mom makes at home. Not too tomatoey, but perfectly moist and tasty. I opted out of getting a cocktail today, so I got a mocktail. I was craving agua de jamaica, which they didn't directly have, but this "zero proof" cocktail hit the spot ;) As for the steak tacos, the steak was a little too chewy for my liking, but that's because I usually get my steak well done (I know, don't judge). Thank you Milagros for always being the best spot for a comforting meal!

I'll start by saying that I've been coming here for years and the food is great. Came in recently…read moreand the service unbelievably slow, while prices had of course gone up. The biggest disappointment however was when I looked at my receipt. In addition to taxes and tipping, I was another charged 3.5% for "state mandate." I inquired and was told that since the restaurant has to provide medical insurance, their employees they charge customers for that now. It's just so shady that this is not disclosed ahead of time or at least no obvious and it's only if you look at your receipt, do you see you're being charged this additional fee. Word for the wise it is optional despite the mandatory language on the receipt, so I encourage everyone to refuse to pay. You are not the one employing the employees, the employer is.

This place makes me want to visit San Mateo just to eat here!…read more I am currently on a very difficult journey to try everything on the menu, but the problem is I keep wanting to reorder the same staples, especially their famous Cubanos. Everything I've tried has been delicious, and the sauces are seriously amazing. They make their own chimichurri sauce, a super spicy habanero sauce, and a creamy white sauce that somehow makes every bite even better. The fresh juices are also worth trying. You can tell they're actually fresh. This spot is flavorful, memorable, and absolutely worth going out of your way for.

Went on a hike nearby and found this place for food afterwards…read more It's a small restaurant with some outdoor seating as well, right on El Camino. The place wasn't very busy . They have a variety of options , including salads, bowls, wraps and sandwiches. They also had multiple customizable options for vegetarians or vegans that included impossible patty, broccoli or veggies . I got the Quesawrap with Maduros ( plantains ) and veggies options. It came with a side salad as well. Unfortunately , they made the wrap with some seafood or meat , the 1st time. Luckily ,I checked before eating and notified the staff. They made a new one for me and comped off some amount from the bill. The staff was very friendly. They also have a bunch of interesting sauces . Would try this place again
