After numerous conversations, over about 8 weeks, I couldn't get a commitment from Steve. Every time I was told they would try for something, they failed. Steve will promise to be there, get you a date, try to get to you, etc, and then just nothing. If the owner conducts business like this, I can only imagine how his crew would behave. I ended up finding a quality contractor (ZF Outdoors) that was able to bail me out, after the delays Steve caused, and still have it done by the deadline. IF YOU WANT YOUR JOB DONE ON TIME CALL SOMEONE ELSE! I'm glad I did! UDATE: Regarding Steve's comments about a deposit. To give a contractor 50% before they even start is crazy, because of situations like this with contractors disappearing and/or failing. Steve and I spoke and settled on 4 payments of 25%, the first of which was due when he showed up and started working. You can believe what you want but BUYER BEWARE!!

My husband was planning to complete a wall he had built along the property line when he passed away unexpectedly. The items he saved were often extremely large, so that they could not be removed by just a few men. Heavy equipment was necessary. After contacting numerous contractors in Newport where I live, a friend suggested that I contact Chris who had built a large patio for him. Chris came, took a look, and for an incredibly reasonable price removed all of the hardscape in one day. I was so impressed and relieved to have this taken care of. Dealing with Chris was so easy: a friendly, optimistic and competent guy. Other contractors just shook their heads at this project, which Chris did within a week of my contacting him. I'm lucky to have found this company and will call on them again when I have the hardscape in my own yard done.
