The Above & Beyond Tree Service completed removal of three very very large white pine trees in my yard recently, the stump grinding of those three trees, and complete clean up. This included some large branches already under the trees. My wife and I were completely blown away by the amount of cleanup that was done. There is a reason when you search for tree companies in the local Facebook page that Above & Beyond is the only company locals are recommending. I requested a free quote on their website and Geoff showed up the same day. Geoff was very personable, talked me through the project (we needed branches from neighbors tree cut) and he even walked me through my yard to talk about the other trees/health status. Of the 3 other quotes we received, Above & Beyond was the most reasonable and quite honestly the only one that made me feel comfortable with moving forward. Project was completed yesterday (since the date of the quote to the project completion, it took about 3 weeks which was even earlier than expected). After getting multiple quotes I settled on Geoff and his crew. They did not come in with the lowest quote but, you get what you pay for! They also were not the highest which gave me that 3 bears feeling. I understand now why they named their business Above & Beyond....they really do go above and beyond to ensure you are happy. They made sure to check with me on any questions they had to make sure it was done the way I wanted. They cleaned everything up and it's almost as if they were never here. I purchased fire wood from them they charge $320. per cord that they said the wood was partially seasoned dried? Moral of the story, there is NO such thing as partially seasoned fire wood....it's either seasoned or it's green....The wood I purchased from Jeff was in fact green and no good to me to burn this winter. They charge $320. per cord delivered and dumped and NOT stacked...The truck arrived with a FLUFF load of wood and after I spent a couple hours stacking it myself I noticed the amount was short....It was more like a cord and a half...I didn't even tight stack it because it was heavy and I knew it would need to have air run through it... My advise to anyone thinking about buying fire wood is to stay away from this guy...They over charge for green wood claim it's partially seasoned and when it's delivered it ends up being short... I called Jeff up and he told me over the phone I wasn't the first guy to complain about getting a ripped off with the quantity. He then said he will make it up to me next time I buy wood...NO THANKS only a fool would let themselves get ripped off twice by the same person... If this is the line of work your in and you know what your doing and your an honest person you clearly know the difference between Green and seasoned and you also know there is no suck thing as partial seasoned...Furthermore if Jeff isn't aware I will break this to everyone interested in knowing exactly what a cord of wood should look like... A cord of wood measures 4 feet wide by four feet high and eight feet length....The fire wood should also be tightly stacked together with no gaps... I moved into a new home in RI and had several dead trees and one that was in the way of a parking pad. I called several companies and Jeoff was the most responsive. Did an on-site assessment, answered all of my questions and produced a very detailed and professional quote. Come the day of the removal it looked like an army descended on our house. It was amazing to watch them work and they did a fantastic job of removing all of the agreed upon trees and minimizing damage to our property. Honestly, I would probably call this "Exceed Expectations" tree service given the superior service I received from this firm. They weren't the cheapest quote, but their price was very fair, their work excellent, and I had great confidence that they would get the job done right and safely for all concerned. They left equipment in the road without safety cones and our vehicle hit equipment. Owner refused to give us his insurance info yet placed cones around vehicle after, clearly showing he knew his workers illegally left equipment in road without safety regulations used.
