They partially blocked my driveway with the chipper and their tools were spread across my driveway like they owned the place. They proceeded to chip in the front of my driveway so I couldn't leave. Awful experience from start to finish. They never showed up when they said they would. Showed up randomly one day when I wasn't home. Some of my belongings were in their way, so they took it upon themselves to throw the items out of their way. Breaking 2 ceramic planters in the process. We had a tree that made our yard look like a cotton field. I called and got a very quick response. Mike was at the house a few days later. We explained we wanted four stumps ground down and the tree removed. Mike told us how he would enter the property, level the area, spread the shavings and explained his equipment. He gave us a very good price and we agreed to the work explained. Within the week Mike was grinding the stumps and spreading them, making this piece of our property look like a beautiful path to the backyard. A couple days later they removed the very large, messy tree. Mike even brought more wood chips to have a more finish look to the area. It looks so clean. I was left their card in my door last week, and called a few days later. They came quickly to give me a free quote (same day) and originally said they would be available to stop by within 2 weeks. The next day, after finishing another job early they called and asked if they could swing by that day and finish it. Their price was under my budget, and they finished quickly and professionally including taking care not to damage nearby plants in my garden. The owner of this company is a piece of work. Empty promises is his method of operation. This guy started a job in Millville MA and never finished it after collecting full payment. He started a job at my elderly sister-in-laws and never returned after promising over and over. He also ruined the lawn leaving huge deep ruts from the tires of his trucks and never repaired it. With this last storm coming thru, we had a HUGE pine tree fall across 3 of our vehicles. A friend recommended NS Tree Service and I'm so glad they did! Horrible!!! We didn't even hire this company, our neighbor did. We were asked if they could use our driveway to access the tree as it was close to the fence between our properties and hanging mostly to the side of our driveway. We agreed, as the tree had a huge branch fall into the neighbors yard during the last week's storm and she just wanted the entire tree gone because she was afraid another storm would make it fall into our yard. That's all we agreed to, is to let them use our driveway for the job. Well, they cut down the tree, and left 2 huge logs in OUR driveway, left a total mess of sawdust and tree branches in our driveway, with no explanation and drove off. At one point, before they left, I did ask one of the workers about the saw dust in the driveway and he said, "It's sawdust, it doesn't sweep up". I had to call THEM to find out why they would leave and not take the 2 huge tree trunks (about 10-12 feet each) with them! We were told that the "Logger" truck would be here on Saturday to get them! This was done on a Wednesday, so they expected us to leave the logs in our driveway for 4 days, and it wasn't even our tree that got cut! We were never told that they would leave and not take these logs, never asked if it was ok to leave them, they were just left there! My neighbor called and addressed this issue, as well as the debris and saw dust that they left all over our driveway. The owner Mike told her that I was told the logs would be left there, which I was not, and when she mentioned the debris and sawdust left in OUR driveway his answer was, "their driveway is fine...there's something wrong with that lady if she thinks it's not" (that lady, being me). Later that night Mike called me and said the logs would be removed by 7am today, which they were, however, when I addressed the sawdust and mess in the driveway and street with him, and told him that I knew he said there was "something wrong with me" he said, "I'll be there in 2 minutes" . He lives down the street, and he did pull up and stormed across the street to our house. I was waiting for him in the driveway and when I showed him the mess they left, which was clearly there, he got really angry and hot headed and said there's nothing wrong with the way they left it! I pointed out the sawdust and showed him where the chipping machine was, and that all the debris was right there, where they were putting branches into the machine, and how it was in our driveway, on the sidewalk and into the street (we live on a main street and the street sweepers came by recently and if you look down the street, no other house had debris in the street in front of their house), he started storming up the driveway and looked like a crazy man! He started shouting at me and said he's not dealing with me, and went to his truck and left! HOW unprofessional this BULLY is! He actually scared me the way he was acting! And by the way, when the job was getting done, the guys had me move my car forward in my garage so they could put the crane support in there, and left a big stain in my garage too! I didn't even complain about that, however I had to go outside because they wanted to ask me to use my garage and out of the 6 or so guys that were here, NONE of them were wearing a mask, even when they came near me to talk! I had a mask on the whole time. When Mike came to the house to bully me, he was NOT wearing a mask! How inconsiderate and unsafe during the peak of Covid! Also, during the job, my father in law had to go to the store. His car was parked on the street as to not be in the way. When he was walking up the driveway, Mike walked right up to him, no mask, and put his arm around my father in law's shoulder and spoke to him really close to his face, as the equipment was loud....no mask!!!! When you go onto the RI Division of Licensure, and look this company up it says in red that there is no insurance certificate filed. I woke up today, still traumatized from the way he spoke to me and how unprofessional he was! The other guys that were there were very nice and one of them even moved some things in my garage that were heavy in order for me to pull my car up, and they put them back after. No issues with the crew, just the arrogant owner! He shouldn't be allowed to speak to the customers because he seems like a know it all who pushes his weight around in an attempt to intimidate you and bully you. And lets face it, if you're going to use someone's driveway as a courtesy, you certainly should not be leaving logs behind and debris. It should look as if they were never there! My father in law who has a bad back had to go outside this morning and blow the debris off the driveway. It's still in the street as it is a main road and it would be too dangerous for him to sweep up with cars going by, however, when the tree service was there, they had trucks and signs up for cars to go around, and they certainly could have cleaned things up. They left the remnants for months after promising to come remove them. They also were supposed to come remove the stump but have maintained military silence since being paid. i hired this company to remove 3 trees. i was told it would be clean and we would never know they were there. That was true for the tree removal but we were left with stumps. When I asked about their removal Mike came and ground down the stumps and was very nice and helpful and even helped with conversations with driveway contractors. When I asked about removal of stump grindings, he said the company never takes those. He told me he would need a bobcat and a dump truck to remove all the stump grindings. He suggested I put in my garden. I told him I don't want that in my garden and I want it all removed. I don't have a bobcat or a huge dump truck. My husband has had cancer and knee surgery during this time. We were back and forth with him saying he was coming to remove the disastrous mess that was left for the past 7 months. . My grass is now suffocated and dead.get everything in writing. Ii am getting quotes to clean up mess left and redo sub par stump grinding because what was left by smithfield tree was not deep enough and I would not be able to grow grass on the areas Is another $2000!!! read more

This "company" cut my neighbor's tree down after I left my house to go to my clinical rotation. I came home that night and saw that my mailbox was tampered with. I'm only 5 feet tall and now my mailbox measures up to under my chest. I tried lifting it up, but it was very unstable at the original height. I had no idea what happened until my neighbor came out and stated that Mike had to move my mailbox to cut down the tree! I never agreed to anyone coming onto my property, never mind pulling my mailbox out of the ground and not putting it back the way it ORIGINALLY was!!!! I came inside to start some homework, logged onto my computer, and realized my internet wasn't working, nor was my cable. I spent hours resetting the router and trouble-shooting with Verizon. Verizon couldn't come out until 2 days later. I had to find other places to connect to the internet to do classwork...extremely inconvenient! When the Verizon tech came out, he showed my boyfriend the cut cable line tucked in the side of my house!!! I immediately got Mike's phone number and called him. He made some lame excuse that he thought it was an old "telephone" wire that was being unused, so he tucked it away! He also stated, if he new it was a cable wire, he would've called Verizon and they would've been over immediately to fix it!! WTH!! I demanded to know why he didn't leave a note on my door or in the mailbox he tore out of the ground, stating both of these things he did to my property. His response was "you weren't home"!!!! NO CRAP!! That's what a note is for!!! He said he would be by to fix the mailbox. I waited a week...NOTHING!! My boyfriend called and he said he would be in the area in a "couple of days". Extremely unprofessional. Mike quoted a price to remove 1 dead tree and 1/2 of a large twin sister tree. He was scheduled to come the following week after calling 1st. NS Tree showed up without calling while we were not home (we were 5 minutes around the corner) they removed our mailbox, entered our yard and dropped the two trees and left, never contacting us. When my husband called Mike, he said they were in the area and it was a convenient time for them. Mike said he'd be back the next day to clean up and finish what he was supposed to do. We never heard from Mike again, until 3 weeks later. He showed up looking for payment. My husband reminded him they were supposed to cut the trees into manageable pieces and chip the dead tree into the woods. They had to return 2 times to do some of this. They never chipped the tree into the woods. My husband had to spend an entire Saturday cutting and cleaning away the tree. They also never replace our mailbox correctly. It's now 6" out of the ground and too high to use. My husband will have to fix this as well. Awful lot of work for my husband after choosing to pay a "professional" $1,800. I had an old tree with bugs and dying branches. It was located very close between 2 houses. The day I called , Mike came by and gave me a quote. Very reasonable. When they came to do the job, the tree was literally cut down and shredded in an hour. Mike came back and ground the stump and planted 2 bushes for me the next day. The company was very kind and promised great service. I was satisfied with 3 trees they did work on. They then cut down a huge tree and left the logs on our grass for about a month, killing it with no phone calls to update when they would #1 finish cutting the tree down (they left about 12 feet of it still standing) and #2 remove the logs from our grass. They finally returned three weeks after the job was started and ground the tree down, leaving the logs there to continue killing my grass.
