I have never been more disappointed. We came to this place at 10:30 as a group of 5. We got in got a drink and stood back waiting for our friends to get in. 3/5 of our group went to grab a drink & came back. While standing there, we were kicked out. I am so confused bc we were literally just standing there. They were hostile, aggressive, and would NOT tell us why we were being kicked out. I am so confused and angry that I spent money just to be forced out for no reason. The only thing I can think of is this was discriminatory due to our friend being gay. Only the rooftop was open which honestly would have been better if the 1st floor was so we didnt have to climb the million stairs up but can't say we didn't have a good time... coming from Miami, FL finding a place that plays trending Spanish music is not always easy. Security here is an absolute JOKE. As I was leaving the upstairs restroom someone literally grabbed a fistful of my hair and threw me to the ground. Security, who had been sitting on the bar across from the restroom, did nothing. I went to the front of the club to tell them that I had just been ASSAULTED and they showed absolutely no interest at all. Then I told the police who we're standing across the street and they didn't care either. I literally had bruises on my because of the incident. Without question the worst bar I've ever been to. The bouncers are a joke and security contributes to a sketchy environment as they seem to be looking for problems. Never have I ever been charged so much for such awful drinks, I literally threw one out and it's replacement was drinkable but still very bad. Went to Limelight last night to celebrate a birthday with friends. Had never been. Drinks were okay, music was good, great vibes throughout the night until about 1am. My boyfriend had just bought a beer and placed it on the table. Someone else had their beer on the table. Someone came by and knocked one of the beers off the table accidentally. Bouncer grabs my boyfriend's beer to throw it away. I go to grab the beer and tell him we just bought it and my boyfriend will drink it. He yells at me to let it go. And is extremely aggressive towards me and my man. We tell him we will just drink it and go. He continues to be verbally aggressive towards us and tells us we have to go as he begins to shove my man out the door. I call him a B since he was being one. My man starts telling the bouncer he will not leave without me as I was left behind when they shoved him out. The bouncer then assaults my boyfriend by placing him in a choke hold where he couldn't breathe. There are now 3 bouncers on my man pushing him out the door. Obviously he wasn't going to just let them push him out the door without me. I run towards them because I see my man in a choke hold and he is being punched in his ribs!!! I mean these men were out of control. I'm telling the bouncer to let him go. We can walk ourselves out. Extremely unprofessional and unnecessary excessive force used. We were never aggressive with them until they were shoving my man around. Will never return. Terrible terrible bouncers. I'm pretty sure we can press charges over this. Amazing venue. Been going here for YEARS! I remember the days Inferno, Limelight, and Arizona Pete's were the weekend spots. Visited last weekend with some friends and was amazed at the roof top! Hookah was available, not sure how but there was hookah going on. The only downfall for me was the staff, extremely nonchalant. I guess with the amount of teenagers you would be, however, me and my friends are the older crowd and would've spent more money had we known how to purchase a booth and hookah. So my friends and I came to limelight tonight, all of us being 21. My friend was having a hard time with some personal issues and she started to have a panic attack. My friend (who was also 21) and I went to the bar just to get her a glass of water to help calm her down to which the bartender said "we don't do free water cups on a Thursday night." We explained the situation and she still wouldn't help us out. I told her that her denying us free water was not okay and she told us "that's just how it is, not even sorry." Limelight is the best club in downtown Greensboro. I was greeted by the nicest bouncers and the girls at the door were very friendly. The club has three levels. Downstairs has a full bar, Dj booth and TVs for watching any and every game that's on. The next level also has a bar and Dj booth. At the bar you can request any drink in the world and it can be made with the great variety and selection of liquor. The bartenders are always so nice and punctual when getting drinks. On the third level, the roof, there is a bar and of course, a Dj stand. The roof is a lot of fun when the weather is nice. Personally, I love the energy on the roof. I went here on July 13th 2018 and it was the worst money I ever spent in my life. I'm a white male and went with my 2 black friends and before we even enter the club we were a problem with the bouncers. They said one of use can't wear a plain white t shirt, it was against club rules or something. So I ask if we go back to the car to get a hoodie if that would work and they said yes. We walk back to the entrance and now apparently that wouldn't work either. After about 15 minutes we finally got in bit when they marked your hands with some dumb permanent marker they dont even ask for your arm they just grab it. Don't waste your time, or money. I used to love this place but since they have remodeled, it's not the same. On a Saturday night, there was only the rooftop bar open, on a Saturday night... not only that but I could literally count the people present, on a Saturday night... but you still have the nerve to charge a $10 cover fee. I literally paid, changed my mind and turned around and was told, eventually, after giving me the runaround, sending me to three different people who were supposedly managers, still never found the elusive Baldheaded manager named Grady, if he even exists, that I couldn't get my money back.
