Before making the decision of where to order from, we did a quick run through of the reviews on Hungry House and liked what we saw from Lime Tree.
We enjoyed the diversity of the menu, and were happy enough to go ahead with placing our order.
My husband decided on the Chicken Shatkora, which was way too spicy for me, but my husband enjoyed. I opted for the Vegetable Korma, which I really enjoyed, except for the large crunchy pods I found several of. I believe they were cardamon, and I liked the flavour they lent to the dish, but didn't enjoy crunching down on them. For sides, we got an order of the Bhindi Bhaji (okra) and saag paneer (spinach and cheese). They were both nice. The Saag Paneer had a nice level of spice to it, and the Bhindi Bhaji was nicely seasoned. We got a plain Naan, Chapati and Pilau rice. The Naan was huge and fluffy. I really liked it. The Chapati was mediocre and the Pilau rice was flavoured with orange or something to be a bit sweet. I would have preferred plain rice, but it was okay.
We were told that it would be an hour at most for the delivery, which was a bit extreme considering it's quite close by. At the 50 minute mark, I got a call saying that the driver was lost. I explained where we are located and he was pretty clear that he was impatient and annoyed that he couldn't find it. He told me I needed to come down the street to pick it up. When you get delivery, the nice thing about it is that it's delivered to your door. If there is a problem at the door to the building or something, that's understandable, but it was pretty irritating that I had just settled into my comfy clothes for a Friday night in, and had to go down the street to pick up my order which was meant to be delivered straight to my flat. When I got outside, the guy was seeking an apology, and kept complaining about how he was in the mews behind our building and he had to park far away and walk. Oh my! A delivery driver is expected to walk a bit in this sprawling metropolis? Unheard of. I did thank him for giving me the food, but he definitely didn't get a monetary tip. My tip to him and his employer would be to get a better GPS.
In the future, I believe that we will order from Lime Tree again, but I really hope we don't get the same driver, and hopefully the delivery person is able to utilise a GPS a bit better. read more
