Had they taken the time to talk to me about switching parts, I would've easily been persuaded. I'm also a regular customer at the store. The fact that I was just treated like that saddens me. They simply don't care. That's fine if it's your business model, but the delivery was unnecessarily dismissive and came off as elitist. Not everyone rides a top-tier brand, and that shouldn't mean being treated like you're wasting their time. I was prepared to spend a few hundred dollars on a tune up and more for repairing my crumbling wheel, but clearly that wasn't the issue--the brand of my bike was. There are plenty of shops that value customers regardless of what they ride. I'll be taking my business to one of them. Note: I found a better bike shop that will support all bikes and treat you well well providing their service. You can avoid the snobbery of Cognition cycle. Go to Woodside Bike Shop. They're very friendly, very efficient, reasonably priced and they do great work. Reason being about 5 years ago they did a great job upgrading and maintaining my retired Scott Addict. I came into the store with a blank slate only knowing I wanted the Pinarello Grevil as my frame, and that I wanted to recycle the groupset from my Scott to save on cost. Chris helped me from the beginning to the end with all of my concerns, such as any compatibility issues, challenges with sourcing parts, and also very helpful upgrades I wanted to consider with full transparency and all the important details. I'm writing this review to shout out Froy in the bike department!!! He is the MVP! My derailleur was whack and he fixed it so quickly. It gets quite busy at the bike department (esp in the summer with kids wanting to get out with new bikes!). Froy also took the time to teach me the mechanics of the bike that I'll never forget since I want to try to maintain my bike myself. I highly recommend becoming a REI member if you aren't already one! Amazing perks such as discounts all the time and you get a return warranty up to 1 year instead of the 90 days. I also like their credit card which gives you 5% back! If you already know you're a regular customer for REI, why not! You'll also get higher cash back on full priced items too. Also just FYI they do not supply bags at check out! So bring your own bag to haul away your purchases!

I paid to have it tore apart and serviced, at another shop and my creaking issue has continued driving me crazy! He explained that he had encountered a few similar issues only to figure out the seat needed tightened and I can't believe this was my issue. My husband and I have been wanting to check this out for a while and finally got a chance to last…read moreweekend. Thanks to the San Mateo County Parks Department, this Sunday road closure to motorized vehicles really creates such an awesome experience for cyclists, runners, snd even in-line skaters (saw a couple of those). From the main entrance to Filoli to Highway 92, the closure covers about 3.8 miles along Cañada Road in Woodside. You get scenic views of Crystal Springs Reservoir along the way, and pass the Pulgas Water Temple too. The great thing is that they open the pedestrian gate to the temple so we were able to ride our bikes in and walk around the water temple before hitting the road on our bikes again. There are porto-potties in their parking lot as a friendly FYI. You could also ride into Filoli and grab a snack at their cafe or park your bikes and check out the gardens there (with paid admission). Once you pass the Filoli entrance headed southbound on Cañada Rd, cars are back on the road so definitely watch out for them. We noticed quite a few drivers who seemed to be looking for Filoli and driving like they were lost or just unsure, if you know what I mean. Keep to the shoulder/bike lane when headed back toward Edgewood Rd. Bicycle Sundays road closure is 9am-3pm every Sunday except for holiday weekends. Such a great way to promote an active lifestyle, and safe roads for cyclists and runners to train or just enjoy a beautiful day out! There are plenty of cyclists and hikers who come here to get some exercise in. Canada road has some small rolling hills, the incline is around 3.8 %, great place to train and for beginner cyclists. There are only 2 stop signs so you don't have to stop that often either. You can stop at Robert's market to get some food and drinks, turn around, or continue on to Palo Alto, Kings Mountain Road ( for a fun climb), or where ever else you would like to go. Heading back is slightly more of a climb than heading south, so save some energy. Have fun and stay safe.

The e-bikes made everything effortless -- especially the hills (which are no joke). You still get that fun, active experience, but without feeling gassed halfway through. The ride across the Golden Gate Bridge was unreal. The views of the skyline, Alcatraz, and the bay were absolutely next level. Riding above the water with the wind coming through the bridge towers is something you just can't replicate any other way. Our guide was fantastic -- knowledgeable, engaging, and paced the ride perfectly for the group. We got cool history about the bridge and the city without it feeling like a lecture.
