What an amazing place for repairs. Brought in a bike and they had it fixed in no time. It was such simple repair they didn't even charge anything. They also took the time to educate us as to what was wrong and what was being repaired... and that's how I learned the the OTHER shop I took the bike to previously probably repaired something that didn't need to be repaired but charged me $300. After falling once, I decided I needed to find a way to be safer on that bike. Not possible, I was told. "The seat is as low as it can be", which was true. But Belmont bikes thought about it for a bit and found a fix--they cut the seat post down so now my feet are more firmly on the ground. Extremely Disappointed - Poor Service and Unkept Promises I will never go back to this shop. I had to bring my bike in twice for a simple creaking issue--after they already had it for two weeks the first time. The bigger issue was a warranty replacement part I was told would arrive in "about five days." I followed up weekly for two months, calling nine times, and was told each time that they would get back to me. They never did. Eventually, I was told to just call the manufacturer myself. When I explained my frustration, the owner (Nick) responded by cursing at me. Incredibly unprofessional. I contacted the manufacturer (Race Face) directly and they were extremely helpful--and confirmed they had never even been contacted by Belmont Bikes. I have paperwork from Belmont Bikes saying they would handle this for me, but they clearly never did. I was misled repeatedly, treated rudely, and ultimately had to resolve the issue on my own. This shop made promises they didn't keep and offered some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

These guys are so knowledgeable and nice. They added sealant to my tubeless tires, and tightened the valves at no labor cost. Also noticed that my brake pads were going to need replacing soon--which I could feel on my rides but didn't realize how bad they'd gotten. Wow, in a bad way. Two weeks ago I went to a friends ranch. He had two very fine-mountain bikes. I hadn't ridden a peddle assist bike yet and was amazed (and hooked). Banns and I had a month long road trip ahead for our 30th anniversary. We are hitting a handful of National Parks. . Figured we could cover twice or 3x the distance with the same time and effort. So a last minute move was to add two e-bikes to our quiver of "fun" styles. My friend says he got them from Nick at Belmont Bikes. I call Nick. My friend had already called and prepped him. Nick has a deal waiting. It was a good deal - it only for the two bikes Nick wanted me to buy (which were matching e-mountain bikes.) When I tried to explain to Nick that my wife wouldn't ride the mountain bike but she would love a road bike (with a front suspension) and a cushy seat, Nick turned Jeckle/Hyde on me. His initial reaction when i said I would take 1 of those (not 2) and then I asked about another bike for my wife (the second bike) Nick's reaction was to pretend he was looking something up for me and made me wait a full two min before coming back on the phone to say "Dude I can't deal with this right now" and hung up on me. Yes, he hung up on me, unprovoked. I was bummed but wanted to buy two e-bikes and only had a week before our trip. So I call back. It takes a bit to get to Nick. When I finally get him I explain that I am trying to buy TWO e-bikes and that I was sorry they wouldn't be the ones he wanted to sell but that I was still going to spend upwards of $8k so that I hoped he could still help. He then literally ranted about how his price was for "his" deal and that anything else would be different and have less of a discount. When I said OK, I wanted one of "his" models for me and and then asked to talk about a model for my wife, he said "Dude, I don't have time for this" and hung up again. Hey Nick, I called Mike's Bike and Menlo Velo. They both were super busy but were kind and courteous. While I wanted to buy local in Menlo Park, Mike's bikes had the models I needed in stock, were willing to deal on 2 bikes. I had them home with me that night. Thanks to @mike'sbikes and @menlovelo and @thebikeshop for helping to make my wife and my 30th anniversary special. Shame on Nick and Belmont Bike. Poor service. Rude owner. Ike's sites are intended to be great local businesses who create a community of followers and clients. Too bad Belmont has to deal with Nick and Belmont Bikes. Good news those from Belmont don't have to go far for incredible customer service (in nearby cities). NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

They helped let me know any pros/cons of the item from their experience to help me make the right decision before purchasing. They may not have the biggest selections of items in stock, but they usually have the main stuff to get you back riding again. They are also the only shop I now of around here that usually has some super friendly dogs inside.
