First time trying this salon. Was hesitant at first, but definitely looks different than the photos shared. They upgraded the inside so it looks newer and cleaner (I highly recommend the owner to share updated pictures of the place) I didn't want to take pictures because there were other people inside. I called before coming in and did a pedicure and manicure with gel polish and it was fair pricing. I didn't feel rushed like I usually do in other salons, definitely quieter and not as busy. Staff is polite and understanding. Loved the massage it was needed. I'm so detailed when it comes to cleaning around the toes and nails.. they did good but definitely could've done better. I haven't been to every nail place but from what I've experienced this place is the best. The people are very friendly and every time I get something done it turns out flawless. I would definitely recommend getting a pedicure, it feels amazing and you can guarantee that they will rub the heck out of you legs. When I get gel it it always perfect and not to think which I like. I only wanted a pedicur, and my nail polish came right off when I went to take a shower, and it was 59 dollars 2nd: My mother fell right out side there door, like right at the door. I got a full set French manicure today. I even got short nails and they still turned out bumpy..maybe it was because the acrylic powder was at the very bottom and look like it's never been changed and was very clumpy and even had bits of dirt in it. I've been going to the this for 11 years. For the past 6 months each time I've gone in to get my nails done there's always a 2 hr plus wait so I go somewhere else. I stopped in two days ahead of time and made an appt. I showed up for my appt and was told to pick out my color and have a seat. Love this nail salon! The ownership recently changed and as far as I can tell the new owner is keeping the same high standards and great customer service that the old owners had. The guy they have doing pedicures now does the greatest job with exfoliating the dead skin off of my feet and toes. He is very detailed and doesn't rush through the job - even when they are busy and have others waiting. All the staff is very professional and and friendly. They seem to care and always want their customers to be pleased with their services. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because they might need more staffing for busier times. I have been turned away when I stopped in without making an appointment first because they only had 3 people working but now I always call ahead so I don't have this problem anymore. read more

This is my go-to nail salon, the staff is super friendly and I always love how my nails turn out. I recently came here for prom and I showed the woman a picture of how I wanted my nails to look. I have been going here for a while now just because they're very close to where I live. So it's convenient. But after visiting a different salon a couple of times, I have come to the realization that I'm getting mediocre results here. Their color selection is pretty good, but not great. They seem to be very clean establishment, and everyone is very friendly and accommodating. You don't get that everywhere. But they're not very careful about shaping the nails as meticulously as they could. I often come out with slightly misshapen nails. I don't know, maybe I'm really picky. But when I do my own manicure, my nails are absolutely perfect. And who am I? Just a lowly citizen. I think the thing that did it for me was a recent gel manicure. The technician applied three thick coats of color and to thick topcoats. This results in a very uneven and slightly wavy surface, not to mention a very thick nail. By contrast the other salon I went to recently did an amazing gel nail for me. Extremely clean and very meticulous about shaping the nail. Also, he applied two very thin layers of the gel polish and one topcoat. There was no overflow up on trying. They were absolutely perfect and just as tough as having had five coats applied. read more

I've never walked out of a place without paying before, if that begins to paint a picture of how horrible of an experience I had here. I used to come to this place all the time before the icolor nail bar opened, but as soon as it did I never came back. (the only reason I ended up here today was because icolor was booked with parties). I went in for a gel manicure and everything was going along fine until she painted the color on 2 nails and I decided I didn't like it. I had painted it on top of a dark color I had on when I came in, but without the dark base the new color was too light. so I went to pick a new color and I must've taken too long because by the time I went back to the station she said someone else was going to have to help me because she was going to start on someone else. the guy that was supposed to finish my nails had just started on someone else so it was going to be a while. I waited for a while but got more and more annoyed and decided I didn't want to support such a rude business. I hope my leaving taught them a lesson about customer service. no wonder there was nobody in there and I'm back at icolor nail bar willing to wait for better customer service. from the looks of the way she was starting to do my nails I wouldn't have been happy with that quality anyway, she wasn't even getting close to the edges of my nails. read more

Today is the first visit to this salon. It also is my last. What a horrible salon. The man, I assume the owner was playing solitaire on his phone. I understand that it is really a bid deal but really.... He did a little on one nail while considering his next move. He watched the screen studying it the back to the nail. When he finished the game he says sorry I couldn't get out of it. Well it's the X on the upper right corner of your phone. His hand were covered with acrylic residue from his last customer and his hands were so rough and dirty it grossed me out. To get me to relax because I so badly wanted to get up and walk out, he would hold the finger and flop my hand around. Didn't work for me. I did not get to wash my hands till the very end. Every other salon has you use the light to cure the acrylic and gel polish two times here just once. The staff acts like they wanted to leave as badly as I did. Unfriendly, unhappy, miserable looking employee's. I don't even think they like being around each other. It took 35 mins for this manicure. I have never had one done so quickly. I've been here three times. July 9, 2015 they did a great job on my nails and took there time. Dec 22, 2015 once again great job I had gotten designs on two of my fingers they looked good. I also got a pedi and it looked good. March 4, 2016 I had called to make an appointment I asked if they could do a design on each finger and she said it would be no problem. When I got there they started my nails first before asking to see the design. When I went to wash my hands one of the nails fell off down the middle. They fixed it. They asked what design I wanted and said they couldn't do it because it had circles in it. It was a simple design that just needed a dotting tool and stripper. I said OK showed her 4 more designs that didn't have any circles and she said she couldn't do any of them. I ended up just getting a black tip with a sliver line under it on two fingers. After I left the salon I took a good look at my nails some are different sizes. Most have lines in them a couple of nails had bubbles on them and the sliver line on both nails are not even and choppy on my right hand it starts as a smaller line and ends up a bigger line on the other side. I moved to the area almost 2 years ago after living in Canada where BioGel is what I had been having done for 6 years. My job makes me BEYOND hard on my nails. They are constantly beat up on at work and at home I'm hard at work on our small farm. Needless to say, I can't "baby" my hands. Koi has been doing my nails for 18 months now and he is amazing at what he does. My nails are their natural length with no tips ever, he does gel powder with Shelac on top and somehow, and I just don't know HOW, they hold up every time. I travel a LOT for work and often have to go 3-4 weeks between fills, not ideal. I rarely break a nail and when I do it's usually my fault. To be completely honest, I'm not a huge fan of letting anyone else do my nails because they just don't hold up like they do when Koi does them. The shop is always clean and, as some one that's been getting my nails done for about 25 years, I can say I've seen some shady stuff. I haven't seen any of that at Lily. I've never had a pedicure done there as I do my own so I can't speak for services beyond Koi's work. read more

So sad to say, but after 4 plus years going to this spa, today was HORRIBLE! The entire pedicure from start to finish took 17 minutes. My feet barely touched the water before she was scrubbing and clipping. There was NO communication from the nail technician. She didn't offer me a beverage, even after witnessing the other techs offer a soft drink to their clients. there was no cuticle clipping and she barely put in effort to remove the dead skin from my feet.Then, apparently the polish I chose was low, but rather than getting a new bottle or asking me to choose a different color, she proceeded to glop it on. I had no idea how bad it looked until I got home and the person who gave me the gift certificate commented on how bad they looked. read more

Beware of horrible service and mediocre work. I went there for THE absolute last time this past Sunday. I had been there before (as I used to live within walking distance) and the service was hit or miss. However, this time was utterly ridiculous. On top of having a boring selection of nail polishes to choose from, the customer service was terrible. I went there for a gel nail mani and pedi (after having just left the salon I that normally go to that was busy/booked/every pedi chair filled and with 3 waiting). Towards the end of my pedi, the young girl (speaks very little English...I should have asked for her name) started removing my previous gel nail polish. She filed my nails and applied the nail remover and foil to allow them to soak. However, since she hadn't bothered to place a towel over my lap, I had hot pink dust all over my white shorts, right thigh and knee. After I asked for a towel to wipe it off, she said something in Vietnamese and the young guy (probably high school age) doing my pedi, and the older lady (late 30s to early 40s) doing a pedi beside me started laughing. The girl got a hand towel and wiped my knee and then conveniently knocked the nail polish remover into my seat. It spilled out onto my black cardigan and white shorts. Did she say "Sorry" or anything? No. Only a smirk and a look of "Whoops" while picking up the bottle off the floor. They continued being so disrespectful in whatever comments and jokes they were making that the lady giving a pedicure on the opposite facing wall turned around and started looking at all three of them. She would look at them in disgust and then look at me, and then back at them. She was giving her leg massage while sitting on the stool and turning it around to look back at them. She did not tell them to stop, she did not remind them that it's a place of business, but the disgusted look on her face while swiveling around three or four times to look at them confirmed that they were in fact talking about me. They kept this up until my pedi was done and until I was in the mani chair (with the older lady who'd been doing a pedi beside me). On one of the times that the lady giving a massage turned around to look at them, and then looked at me to see if I knew they were laughing at me, I just shook my head in disgust too. Where to even begin with people who act this immature. I know from teaching ESL that there are major cultural differences, but this was very disturbing and disgusting to me. I ended up speaking to all three of the immature bullies before leaving...starting with the older lady doing my mani (regular and not gel as I'd originally gone for). I did not understand how someone her age lacked any authority as a role model over teenagers or early 20 somethings in this type of work setting. I spoke a good bit, and so did she..trying to explain herself. She asked me to forgive her. Although they'd hurt my feelings, I'd decided to take the road of integrity. Next the boy. Then later the girl...who the older lady had to interpret for. It was just so uncalled for, so disrespectful, so unprofessional, so out of the blue, so undeserving. If I could rate them no stars I would. I got online today to see what their reviews were like and the recently posted reviews on Facebook are not good either...terrible service. And of course no one from the salon has bothered to post feedback regarding the reviewers bad service. This is a sign of poor management and business operations and on the individual level it's a lack of professionalism, self respect, self esteem, and several other issues. I will not return to spend one penny there, and I do not recommend this place at all. Only 7-8 minutes away, if that, (at the S. Tryon Street and Hwy 160 area) there are plenty of far, far better choices. read more
