It's a very small shop but packed with so much character and a carefully curated selection. The owner greeted us with such warmth. She explained where she sources items from- all over the world but a large amount come from artisans in United Kingdom. This is a perfect place to come get a gift for yourself or someone else. I found a candle holder which I have been looking for one. The owner gave some tips on how to burn candles in it which is so helpful. The store was decorated for the holidays and playing Christmas music. It was so great and I'm glad we found it and were able to find some amazing items. I will be back!

McNamara Florist was started in Indy in 1954 and has eight retail locations in Central Indiana along with a greenhouse/nursery in the Fort Wayne area. Not so long ago, McNamara relocated their main headquarters back to Indy from Fishers. It's now located on the near-eastside of Indy in an area that is definitely getting a sense of renewal. While McNamara is local, it definitely has a national reputation. They offer a variety of flowers, plants, home decor, and delivery options. They were definitely decked out for the holidays with a festive array of decorations, plants, etc. This location is actually on East 62nd Street and it's toward the back of Glendale town Center in the same area as the Huntington Learning Center and Jet's Pizza. Parking is available with accessible options and appropriate curb cuts. I happened to be parked at Target and visited several businesses in this strip center with no difficulty as a wheelchair user. When I arrived, I was the only customer. That changed pretty quickly. Employees were responsive and friendly - a bit hovering but not overwhelming. If I have one beef here, and it's pretty common during the holidays, it's that accessibility definitely was a bit lacking in-store. While I'd imagine they don't get a ton of wheelchair users, I'd think anyone with mobility issues might struggle in here. They have some high-end glass Christmas trees that I was terrified I was going to tip over (I didn't). There were ultimately places I wanted to get to that I simply couldn't. However, I'd say I could get to about 75% of the story without too much difficulty. The store was definitely warm and inviting with a festive spirit and light holiday music in the background. Pricing was clearly marked on nearly every item and while this is what I'd consider to be a more premium florist, it's definitely got stuff in a variety of price ranges. I like that they offer plant and flower subscriptions and McNamara is for sure an Indiana success story when it comes to plants and flowers. I sometimes forget it's here, however, this visit was a solid reminder to consider McNamara the next time I need flowers.

We started at Buffalo Gal, and it wasn't what I expected. The last time I was in this space, it was a home decor/boutique business. Even though I was surprised, I enjoy browsing antique furniture, jewelry, dishware, clothing, and home decor items. Buffalo Gal didn't disappoint with such a variety of good quality antiques. We found a clean and well organized business with prices easy to locate, which is important to me. I found several gorgeous items I would have purchased if I had space for. I did find a beautiful tea set I had trouble leaving without. Due to the price, I could only buy one part of the set. The design reminds me of a Mayan pattern in rich pottery shades of rust, caramel, and chocolate. I hope to return soon and purchase the remainder of the set. Funny, how you can always find space for something you love. The prices were reasonable, the selection was impressive, and the owner was friendly, answered questions, and worked with me. If you love arts and crafts like I do you will like coming in here and saving a bit of money on your art supplies. They had crayons and paint supplies for kids, lots of yarns in various sizes, fabric remnants and even a bolt, lots of paint (watercolor, oils, tempera, acrylics), paint brushes, knitting needles, craft kits. They also had office supplies such as highlighters, pens, paper clips, scissors, and markers. Also had broken jewelry pieces as well as some pieces that were whole such as brooches and earrings. They had scrap paper, art paper, greeting cards, rubber stamps and ink pads. They also had a lot of art books that were both table pieces and instructional. Lastly near the checkout they had a basket of magazines that I most definitely had to check out for my collage work. I ended up spending a bit in there but I would say I saved 50 - 75% over retail prices. I will definitely stop in again and see what new items she has to offer.

I brought a friend with me and she was able to find some supplies for her craft. I was able to find some supplies for my craft so all in all we were pretty happy with what we found and how much it cost. The person who checked us out was very kind and patient! I cannot wait until I come back here again and find something new to create something with.
