Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Best tacos in the area continue to be Los Altos de Jalisco in Winchester. I said what I said.

Came with my wife and our moms, and had guacamole and a quesadilla to start, then ordered 12 assorted tacos. Service was provided by the proprietors 2 young daughters - very cute, and well tipped!. The guacamole was so good, we ordered a second order. The quesadilla was above average, but paled in comparison to the rest of the food. The tacos were all good, especially the barbaresco (sp?) tacos. Note that the tacos are small, like street tacos, and they have double tortillas to hold up better in your hand. The mashed potatoes on the side were smooth and loaded with flavor, and the Spanish rice was spot on as always, fluffy, well-seasoned, and the perfect complement to the whole plate. My dining partner went with the enchiladas, and honestly they were a showstopper. One smothered in green salsa, one in red mole sauce, both drizzled with crema and crumbled cotija cheese, the presentation alone was beautiful, almost like the Mexican flag on a plate! The flavor combination was incredible, with each sauce bringing something totally different to the table. The portions are generous, the food comes out hot, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or want to try something a little more traditional, El Ranchero has you covered. El Centro is right in town on the walking mall. I finally found a place to park, lots going on in Winchester on a Saturday. I go in around 1140AM and the place is almost empty. Ok, I decided on a seat at the bar. It was breezy outside but definitely not cold. I decide on a frozen margarita, I think it was lime flavor. The bartender made it in a flash and I was still thinking about the menu. I remember the queso Blanco with chorizo was very tasty last time I was in the restaurant. I order that and decide on the taco plate (3 tacos) with beef. The margarita is pretty good. It's a Saturday and I'm wondering where the lunch crowd is. The queso arrives with chips. It's ok, the overwhelming taste was pork, not really the cheese I expected. It smelled like pork too...I ate some and decided I had enough. Chips and salsa were provided so I switched over to those until my food arrived. After a bit the margarita is half gone the tacos arrive. Refried beans, lettuce, cheese, Mexican rice and the rest of the taco fixins were on a big plate. Nice! I filled the tacos and enjoyed the rice. The beans were tasty as well. The taco plate is gone, I'm full and I finish the margarita, pay my tab and I'm out. I may go back next time I'm in Winchester.

I was pleasantly surprised with this experience. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with the molé sauce and my friend ordered the shrimp tacos. The presentation of the enchiladas was impressive and the shrimp tacos looked tasty! I loved the sauce on my dish and the cheese/queso. I was full after 2 and a half of the enchiladas. It came with 4. My friend filled up on 2/3 of the tacos. Soni was our server and she did amazing! She was sure to keep our waters filled and was consistently checking in with us. The cleanliness of the restaurant and bathrooms were still impressive, despite a couple of crumbs on the table when we sat down. The chips and salsa were still my favorite part. I can be pretty picky when it comes to salsa but I love the texture and taste of this salsa. The chips always come out crispy and fresh! We were there at lunch time and the restaurant was not super busy. I'm glad I gave them another try! My husband and I love mexican food and were excited to try this location. I was very pleased with the environment when we walked in. The staff was welcoming and the restaurant was beautiful. I was excited to get seated in a booth immediately on a Friday at around 5. I will also say that the bathrooms were incredibly clean! My husband and I both ordered tacos, but we were disappointed to find out they were out of the Birria tacos. I was shocked because it seemed early enough on a Friday for them to not be running out of items. I ordered chicken tacos and was not impressed. They were very bland and didn't come with much to add to the chicken and tortilla although, the plate was presented beautifully. My husband ordered the fish tacos and while he did enjoy them, they were also quite underwhelming. The service was not exceptional. I had to ask for water multiple times and as I was once a waitress myself, I was always taught water should be served immediately. I also had to remind my waitress 2 times that we had ordered the queso. It didn't come out until we had already received our food. Despite this, the chips and salsa were actually quite tasty and kept us satisfied. The server did bring more chips when we were getting low and was attentive to my soda and my husbands beer. I did feel the waitress could've been more attentive, but she was very kind and cheerful. I feel it's also important to note that the restaurant did not seem to be busy. I was happy to find that for two orders of tacos, a beer, and a soda, the bill was roughly $50, plus a $10 tip. While my husband and I prefer other Mexican restaurants in the area, I am glad we got to experience El Habanero.
