This store caught us with the wonderful aroma of incense passing by . Highly recommend the eucalyptus shower steamers , only $4 !

My guy and I weren't too impressed with the soaps they had to offer, so we decided to purchase a candle from their candle shop next door instead. They had a lot of fun names for the candles, which was probably our favorite part. The scents themselves are similar to what you can get at any candle shop. We ended up getting a Lavender candle and left. When we made it to our car, we realized there was a crack in the candle holder. We went back to exchange it for a non-broken one, and they said they couldn't do that since we had already left the store. We were gone for 15 mins just to walk to our car and back. Absolutely ridiculous! These candles are not cheap and now you're going to force us to buy another candle when the crack is on your business? No thank you. Edit to owner: yes, these pictures are from 2 months ago. I'm late on my reviews. That's not a crime. If you look at my review history, you can see I don't just attack businesses for no reason. My reviews are stating my experience so there's no need to get defensive. I'm also not requesting a refund or new candle. However, based on your response, I can see my thoughts on your business are accurate. Not even an apology for my experience just because I forgot to take a photo? I am reducing my rating to 1 star based on your accusatory response. read more

Im a real sucker for health and personal care products..especially when it's locally made and offers variety of selection. So, on the opening day for the Day of the Dead Festival, I found myself wandering the touristy part of ABQ Old Town again and diverted from my primary agenda of observing day of the dead activities to local shops..including Lillie's Handmade Soaps. I spent wayyy too much time browsing, looking and mostly smelling the different flavors..oops..I meant scents that they offer for their loofah, lotions, bath bombs products etc! It was so fun and enjoyable for me..and of course..I got impulsively sucked into buying something from there after spending so much time what to get! Check the place out! They have some cool scents and some for special NM events like day of the dead and balloon festival, too. Wonderful place to browse, shop or just really spend your time in Old Town without any pressure to buy! read more

I hope to return to this store. They offer an abundance of handmade bar soaps, most, if not all, of which are packaged in recyclable paper. Their operation produces minimal waste; they even reuse boxes they receive to package their mailed orders. Plus, many of the soaps contain organic ingredients, and some contain fair trade ingredients. The store smells heavenly from the redolent aromas of various scented soaps: patchouli, peppermint, mango, honey, lavender, cotton, linen....They also carry soap nuts, essential oils (with placards next to each describing the oil's benefits and how to use it), natural deodorant, loofah soap pucks, lotions, lip balms, bath fizzies, and ceramic and wooden soap dishes. The cherry on top? The staff is friendly, humble, kind, and helpful. Thank you for a great in-store experience! read more

I don't live in NM but when I come I stock up on the facial soap from Lillies. I've been using it for years. It's simple and really clears the little make up that I do wear. It cleans my make up brushes extremely well. Better than using chemical based products that are more expensive and have a lot of unnecessary ingredients. @Lillies I would like to ask if there is a way of making the anti-aging soap without the sunflower oil unless it's organic, thanks!! I would give it a 5 if they gave some kind of reward system because I have turned several friends to this shop. read more

I stumbled upon Lillies over a year ago when taking a visitor around old town. I bought a few bars and that was it. Officially addicted. I've purchased dozens of bars since. When I first got to ABQ my skin became so dry and itchy. After using Lillies, that was gone. So hydrating and clean. Now it's all I use. And I always buy extras to use as host gifts when I travel and stay in friend's homes. read more

Picked up some local treats for some Sweet Bellas I know...WOW, holy high grade top shelf quality products, Batman...this shop is AWESOME! Brian is such a solid guy, totally passionate about his line....I absolutely loved this place, and can we talk about how amazing in smells in here????!!!! Oh, and I'm suuuuuuper stoked about the soap nuts, hunting soap, and oil for my hubs :) Can't wait to give it a go! I also took advantage of their "5 for $20" special...my treats of choice were: Petal Dance soap, Wild Rose soap, Honeysuckle soap, another bag of soap nuts and a lavender dryer sachet. Everything in here is superior quality, customer service off the charts, and I'm totally diggin the local art on the walls (art sales benefit a local nonprofit!). Definitely add this to your list of "must visits" here in the Duke City. read more

I'm not a sniffer, but Lillie's was one of the few places that stood out from the other stores in the strip mall so I figured I would come in. I see the value in handmade soaps, but I guess I'm not that much into grooming that I know which plant/herb/extract is the best. There were a few others in and out of the shop and aside from being told the package deals there wasn't too much more interaction. What I did end up getting though was a shaving brush. So, it may seem at odds with what I said earlier but I was interested in trying a brush because even though it's more time consuming it would make my shave better. The price tag was a little on the steeper side for what turned out to be an entry level brush but it does the trick and I still use it and it has helped my shave. read more

I stumbled across this place walking around. First it tucked in the back but as soon as you walk in it smells amazing. There is such a huge selection. Prices are extremely reasonable and they have pretty good deals. The girl who helped us was very nice. We were on vacation and brought a few soaps back. There were some pretty cute ones. The girl who helped us told us you can order online. Everyone who I took a soap took was very happy with their gift. Definitely ordering online. read more

I made a purchase last night for $58.85. When I arrived home I realized that I had purchased the wrong fragrance. This was intended as a gift with 3 items in the set. I returned to the store this afternoon to make an exchange. I was told that I could not return an item over 24 hours. The purchase was actually 20 hours earlier. In order to complete the set I selected the matching fragrance. The item sold for $8. I also purchased an additional 5 soaps. The soaps were marked $5 Each or 5 for $20. As I walked down the street I realized I had been overcharged. Within minutes I returned to the store to bring this to the attention of the clerk. The clerk insisted the $42.80 charge was correct. There was no negotiations on this issue. She also told me they have a no return policy. I have spent $101.30 in this store in less than 24 hours. I did not see any notice in this store that the merchandise was not returnable or refundable. I do not feel my visits was off any value to Lillies. If you want to be misled or taken advantage of, then go ahead and patronize Lillies. As for me, I won't be back. read more

If you enjoy sniffing and smelling you might as well spend a day here. When you enter the shop you are welcomed by a variety of sweet smelling handmade products that leaves you well... feeling and smelling good. They have bar soaps, loofah soap, shampoo bar, shaving bar soap, soap nuts, candles and oooh an amazing foot cream. Let me talk about their foot cream. I was skeptical at first, if you were to judge me by my feet you'd think I stroll around barefoot. I'm only two days in and I'm already seeing results--- soft soles yo, like I just got done with a pedi spa. This shop is SOAPer duper you guysss. read more

Don't miss this while you are in old town! There are so many intriguing scents. This is a practical and pampering souvenir gift. My hands down fave was Heavenly Honey. It's well-scented and felt great in the shower. Got one for my sister as a ty for her airport shuttle services, and it was a hit. Everyone likes a premium soap that says "I was thinking of you"! Gabby's Handmade Soap is located in Old Town Albuquerque, offering items that are 100% natural and handmade in America. They have shea soaps & lotions, natural remedy soaps & lotions, organic soap, soaps for dogs, soap made out goat's milk, shampoo soap & hair conditioner, deodorant rock, soaps & bubble baths for kids, laundry products, castile soap, bath fizz & salts, and massage oils. I am a huge soap collector, so finding local businesses like Gabby's is a real treat! I was first introduced to them when a friend's pet had some severe seasonal allergies - she had used Gabby's Lavender Laundry Oil to ease and soothe some of the symptoms by placing a couple of drops on their collar. The sneezing was definitely less in the pup, but the smell is so divine! Not too overpowering, but a lovely lavender scent that also leaves your pup smelling so fresh and nice! :D I am really excited to try out their Soap Nuts (otherwise known as 'Soap Berries,' that you use for the laundry; you place 7-9 whole soap nuts in a drawstring wash bag, tie it, then toss it in the washer with your clothes (without any detergent or fabric softener); the soap nut shells become sudsy; the clothes supposedly come out smelling fresh as if you hung them outside on a clear spring day - WOW!)). They ship items across the States, so check them out! :D +out of Old Town Albuquerque +Lavender Laundry Oil read more

My daughter and I stopped by late today. In fact, so late that they were closing up for the night. But the proprietor opened it up again and let us in. How nice!! We spent some time there talking about the merchandise and the paintings on the wall by the Rio Rancho Art Association. We've purchased several things in the past here. Always great products which we enjoyed. I highly recommend Gabby's Handmade Soap for wonderful soaps to liven up your home. read more

I don't have the benefit of going to the store as I live in Chicago but ever since I found Gabby's soap online, it's the ONLY soap I order. The price beats everyone else for the ounces you get, they always have amazing scents and my shipment always arrives timely and very well packaged. I personally don't use the soaps as I find all bar soaps dry out my skin, but the husbo loves them all and requests them all the time. I usually order 20 bars at a time so we're stocked up but I can't say enough about the customer service or the product. read more

Gabby's was my indulgent pit-stop in Albuquerque before headed west to Vegas, and it did not disappoint! Brian was a total trip, yet so well informed on his product. Kind, educated ((on the area and the soap)), and quirky. This place is a MUST SEE!! A note on the product-- this stuff is fantastic! I ended up doing the 5 for $20, with the foot cream taking center stage. If you have 20 minutes to stop and take a look around, Gabby's is the place to be! read more

Great local soaps, my go to spot. The have a fantastic variety and friendly staff to help you out.

We have been buying Gabbies Hanmade Soaps now LILLIES Handmade Soaps. We were visiting Old Town many years years ago going Coria country from Nevada to Pennsylvania. We have one of our twin boys who has eczema and nothing absolutely nothing from doctors to store of high priced items that claim to help in any way for eczema work, it was a waste of money all around. But, when we found Gabbies now Lillie's Handmade soap we started with a few of their products and it helped my son so much and has made his skin so beautiful and smooth that as the years go by I buy more and more of Lillie's Handmade soaps for our family because I can say without a doubt that their soap not only did it "helped" my son Lazarus skin and his eczema that he has not had any out breaks and he loves his favorites and how it makes him in his own words normal as his brothers, sisters, his mother and myself his father. I buy from them every 3-4 months and I buys tons of our favorites to include many of their other products as lufas infused soaps, the bomb salt balls, chap sticks and even the hemp balms heat and cool for muscles and joints which are a blessing for me. I also purchase more from Lillie's Handmade Soap and gift them through the USofA to friends and all my family members ie: mom, uncles, aunts and uncles. This most likely the best gift ever from what many have told me once they receive them and especially use them!! It gets me so excited knowing and actually speaking about what Gabbies/Lillie's Handmade Soaps has done for us and mostly for my son who doesn't and has not suffered from eczema in years!! Thank you Lillie's Handmade Soaps for made the best soaps ever made By anyone. We love how it makes our skin feel and the smells are all an added bonus!! Don't change a thing and keep up the great making of the best soaps ever!! We love Lillie's Handmade Soaps and will stand by their products as they are our go to store and they make it so easy to order and choose plus they also carry others that are not on their website. They are also great to speak to or correspond to via email or text, they are awesome! This is all coming from a Disabled American Marine Male and should tell anyone something because we are not as easily to state or show emotions in this way. I hope this helps anyone with any doubts of Lillie's Handmade soaps and products!! O read more

If you like to stop and sniff this is the perfect place. You can smell a ton of different soaps and lotions all day here. The variety was incredible and it is all handmade and made as best as it can be. The owner was super informative and very easy to talk to! Very nice to everybody and it was great. We got the Soap nuts for laundry and love the, they work so much better than what we were using before and it is even cheaper than the detergent. He even threw in some baggies to add scent in the dryer. He explained it all very clearly and gave us a little instruction paper. We asked about the eczema and psoriasis cream and they have pure shea butter, high quality stuff that is great for the skin. So glad they ship because we will definitely be restocking!! read more

Well I came here so soon again because I wanted to share this place with my best friend who was visiting and wanted to pick up some gifts for family. However there were two younger women who were not nearly as friendly as the first time. One looked like she awkwardly didn't want to engage in conversation when I expressed my previous excitement for this place a week or so ago before. She kind of gave me that "cool story bro" look and went to the back and started whispering to her co-worker (unsure what was she saying, and why you'd need to do that, then laugh) who then came out and said nothing while stocking soaps and made zero eye contact. It was a rather awkward time and unfortunate considering how great the previous experience just was. I wasn't going to purchase anything this time because of the weird energy but decided to anyway since I was there for gifts and granted the soap does smell nice. So depending on who's working you might have way different experience and vibe, this last time was not it and customer service is actually important in my book so there's that. If the owner reads this, please train your employees to create a comfortable and welcoming space, customer loyalty is important to you, right? read more

This would have gotten a perfect rating if the soaps were slightly cheaper and there were more exfoliating soaps. The owner has a huge selection of nice sized soaps and unique scent and content combos. A lovely shop with not only soaps, but lotions and a sense of humor. I picked up "Nasty Ass" soap as a host gift . There is a homey adobe fireplace in the shop which the owner had a toasty fire glowing in. Very nice touch. The owner was nice and helpful without being overbearing. If the salesperson is pushy, I just walk out. But this person subtly showed me what I mentioned and before you know it, I bought 5 bars of soap for $20., which is a good price. Individual soaps I believe are $5. each. I don't like to pay more than $4. for a bar of soap. The vanilla oatmeal is oh so wonderful! He also sends mail order. read more

For the best soaps and body products, look no further than Lillie's. I first started buying their soaps at their shop in old town, Albuquerque many years ago. This past year I was very grateful to be able to order them on line and have them delivered. Delivery was super fast. The wonderful aroma coming from the box of all the variety of soaps and creams must have drove the mail-man crazy. The almond honey soap is their most popular, and I love it too. BUT the most impressive product of all is their body butter and their foot cream. I have tried many different foot creams on my dry cracked heels....and none compare to Lillie's foot cream. Amazing stuff.....and such a wonderful scent. I highly recommend Lillie's products. They make for a great gift package too. And if you live in the area, you are supporting local. read more

I visited Gabby's when in town for a friend, and loved his shop--it was inviting, and chocked full of nice-smelling, handmade soap. I bought a few for gifts, and got myself the acne facial soap. I'm always on the lookout for mild, yet effective, acne reducing facial cleansers and decided to give this a whirl. The one bar lasted me almost two years, which made the cheap price even more worthwhile! I then switched to a more generic face soap when I ran out of Gabby's, and within a few days already noticed how much harsher and uncomfortable it was for my skin. So back to Gabby's I go. PS: if you have heavy acne or regularly break out, I can't vouch for the bar's effectiveness. I don't really break out much anymore--just a stray oil bump every once in a while if I have a regimen that works for my skin--and this worked well in preventing future breakouts without causing skin irritation! read more

O.M.G! Seriously, this is the best soap store we have been in a very long time. Stumbled by mistake really, it's tucked away. Prices are decent and the selection is vast, but their best product is definitely focused on the bar soaps which come in several scents. The rest of the product isn't quite up to par with the worst offenders being the shaving products, of which are very poor quality. Pros: * Shea soaps and organic soaps have great scents and clean up nicely. * The soap nuts are a good alternative for people with sensitive skin, though are more of a "day-to-day" cleaner rather than something intended to handle heavily soiled clothes. * The shea lotion works well for sensitive skin, as well as the castile soaps Cons: * The shaving products are a complete joke and your money is better spent elsewhere. * The shaving soap lathers poorly, doing little beyond lubricating your skin. I tried tirelessly to make use of it and build a good lather, but it just doesn't hold up. * The shave brush sheds heavily on every shave and most definitely is not badger, but feels more likely to be boar. * The shampoo bars gradually caused build up on my hair that gave it a dull, weighted look. This needed to be stripped off with a more aggressive shampoo, which gives concern about how it will affect the scalp with extended use. * The milk bath took almost the entire bottle to get an "okay" bath. read more

I discovered this place because of an art gallery that carries a handful of Gabby's Handmade Soaps. I bought a few from the small selection and loved them. I am from San Antonio, Texas, so I was sad when I realized I could't get them instantly if I needed to. Soooo, I took another trip to Albuquerque and made a stop at the gallery to get more. I didn't realize there is an actual shop with the soaps! So back to Texas and I ordered some more, they were shipped super fast! Now, why I love the soap. They smell good, they don't contain animal products and my skin doesn't feel all funky after using them. I don't fell like I just rubbed chemicals all over my ass. I don't know what I will do if this store ever goes away, I can't imagine using soap from anywhere else. I have tried a few from my city, but they had goat milk and I felt like I smelled like a hippie. Gabby's soaps don't smell like hippies! They smell good! So far I have tried Blackberry, which I love. It makes my whole bathroom smell good. New Mexico Sky, another wonderful scent, I can't stop sniffing myself. Honey Suckle, smells just like a honey suckle flower, my girl junk smells like a pretty flower hahahah!! I just ordered a few online, I wasn't home when the post office brought them, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to get them. I So, if you need soap and you go to Old Town in Albuquerque. You gotta check this place out. You will definitely find a soap for you. I have never been so excited over soap. Christina approved, this Sh!t's good! read more

I brought back to the Bay Area really unique and locally made handmade soap from Albuquerque. I actually finished some of my early Christmas stocking stuffer shopping with these soaps. I got the heavenly honey (half almond, half honey) and castile soap (olive oil) for myself. Also got some "gag" soap for gifts which were named things like Dog Breath and Stinky Piggy which are really normal soaps. Stinky Piggy is really cranberry as an example. Pretty affordable prices for custom made soap. In store price came out to 5 soaps for $20. They will ship too for a flat fee. read more

My favorite local shop. Wonderful soaps and lotions in many different scents. Kind owner and staff.

I've never been in The store before. To be honest I never even noticed it. We stumbled across this great little secret and went in because of the wonderful aroma coming from the open doors. For 20 bucks you get five bars of quality soap. Truly not bad when you think about it. After smelling every type of scent they offer we stumbled on a few wonderful gag gifts. Where else can you buy a bar of soap called monkey fart, dog breath, and nasty ass soap. The label even says that it will clean even the nastiest ass. Don't be fooled by the names. They smell just as good as all the rest. Gatti's is a great little store you should stop on by when in the area. read more
