Working with Lillian has really transform my life in so many ways and beyond to the initial thing I came to her to work through. I was lucky enough to be able to do 1:1 work with Lillian and I couldn't believe the change I saw in myself in just 6 months! Working with Lillian has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life! I've been working with her since September of 2020 and I've made more changes in these few months compared to the past 28 years of my life. Signed up for the 30 day challenge...dropped out after 2 weeks. $30 to get nickeled and dimed on Zoom. It's not daily (as challenges usually are), but 2 classes 3 days a week and 1 class 2 days a week. You have to sign up for each individual class at least an hour ahead of time, but then get fined $5 if you're even a minute late. After 5 minutes, you're not allowed in and get charged a $10 cancellation fee. You always have to have your camera on, so if you don't want to be recorded, you can't participate live and have to watch the recording later. Which is sometimes better, because you're going to want to fast forward through the first half of the class. Why? It's a live infomercial of "what we do here" by "connecting with the community" and getting people to "share" so she can showcase her coaching. Then it's "this community is the best thing in the world" getting shoved down your throat. 25 minutes of working out MAX. The coaching was completely useless, unless you want to hear things like "my witch doctor in Korea told me that if I want to be a lion, I should eat a gazelle!" Just stick to YouTube. read more

Working with Lillian is the best choice I've made in my life. She makes you feel fully understood, helps you recognize what it is that you're feeling/going through, and make transformation so fun! She will expedite your growth faster than you can imagine, all you need to do is show up and follow the steps! My experience: When I joined the Breakthrough, I was feeling super lost, stuck, and unhappy. I was constantly overworking (usually don't leave office until after 8pm) and had difficulty taking care of my needs. I was living a life I knew I will regret but I didn't know how to stop and how to get out. I'm a very driven person so even this being stuck feeling was so frustrated Within 2 weeks of joining, I finally had the self confidence to prioritize my own time and was able to leave the office by 5-5:30 AND with NO feeling of guilt. This was something I've been trying to do for 2 years with very minimal improvement. By week 4, I let go of a lot of resentment/bitterness of baggage and had a very healing heart to heart with my mom. By month 2-3 I started to develop habits that I never in my life considered I may do (not snooze, cook/eat breakfast before work, winding down routine). Most important of all, by the end of the 4 months, I love myself more than ever and that leads me to be confident in myself and chase the things I want in life. Why it works: the programs works bc of the structure and the community. And it's like an all in one of exercise, coaching, meditation, everything Do you read a lot of self help books? How much has actually been implemented into your life? I read tons of self help books and very little effective changes were applied. I now realize it's not bc something was wrong with me, but people just don't have the right support when they do it on their own. Structure: the program is very intentional. The reason why you don't know your purpose in life is bc there's all these roadblocks that prevent you from being able to truly identify it. So Lillian provides a very clear process to do that. First we work on tuning into our physical being. Next is getting in touch with mental/emotional to understand your feelings/needs/headspace. Then lastly you can get in touch with your heart. This step by step process gives you the necessary guidance to gain the self love to identify and go after whatever you want. Providing an update to my previous reviews as it has been over 4 years of me working with Lillian. Over the years, my work with her has only grown deeper and I can confidently say I've witnessed my life change emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically. When I first connected with Lillian, I remember feeling so hesitant and doubtful of what could change from having her in my life. I actually found out about Lillian through Yelp, checked out her site, and learned about fitmob (which also deserves 10 stars) so the rest of this review is all about the experiences I've had with her through fitmob for the last month +. On Lillian - she's got it all, gym nut, hip-hop, yoga, kickboxing, flow, a love for music, a fierce passion for life, and she brings all of that plus a HUGE heart and energy into each class. If she's ever had a bad day I wouldn't know 'cause she just makes every class amazeballs!! SOfierce - This is a high-octane, bad ass, breakdance/yoga/martial arts/club exercise that is so addictive you come back for more. And get this, there's a live friggin' DJ!!! YEAH YOU RIGHT! So not only is she creating new workouts and moves on the fly with the music, DJ Bluz is also creating new music on the spot. And they feed off each other and flow with each other. It's magic!! Also, they now have a regular workout that happens at a club (yes a real club!) so the music is 10x more awesome and the energy is 100x more amazing. Love this class and I love the people that take it with me. SOfluid - Now I've mentioned fitmob, and I like the instructors they have a lot and I do take other classes with them. But for the first time EVER since taking a workout class I got goosebumps. For real goosebumps during this workout. There's no live DJ, which at first made me sad, but you get even more of Lillian's powerful flow. It's like combining dance, meditation, yoga, and healing all in one. I totally didn't realize it but half way through the class I was drenched in sweat! Truly amazing. She is also incredibly mindful and connected to all of us so she makes sure everyone has proper posture and is feeling the flow. Ok ok, I know this sounds like I'm in love with her... but I'm not... ok maybe a little. But one of my favorite things is that she pushes you, but she's also very conscious of where you're at. It doesn't matter what level you're at or how high you can jump, she'll help you get there and she'll encourage you to listen to your body. And if you don't believe me, believe the people that drive from Palo Alto and the East bay just to take her classes! read more

Lillian So is by far one of the best fitness instructors I've ever had. She's passionate about her work, incredibly committed to her students, and an all around great person. i've taken 4 of her programs - SoFierce, SoDefined, SoFree, and SoFluid. These programs are unique and a great workout. What I appreciate about Lillian's philosophy is that she's not only trying to improve your fitness, but also trying to improve things on a much deeper level. She starts each of her classes in a circle so that we can set an intention for what we want to work on both in the class and outside of the class. These intentions have helped me improve my fitness and my mental strength. My favorite program is SoFierce. It's a total body conditioning class that has awesome vibes. The class is hosted in a night club and also has a live DJ, who is one of the most talented DJs in the Bay Area (DJ Bluz). The combination of the music, ambience, and killer workout is an experience you can't get enough of. I highly recommend attending Lillian's classes or working with her! read more

You know you're going to have fun working out when your instructor walks in with pink hair. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Lilian So! It was my first time taking a class with Lillian and I can honestly say that she really cares about her student and what she teaches. She is extremely friendly, personable, and keeps it real. It's like working out with a girlfriend. Before class started she introduced herself and had everyone sit around in a circle and get to know one another. Who the heck does this? No other instructor. For some it may be a waste of time, for others it can be really nice to get to know people you work out with. The good thing is that Lillian doesnt do this to "waste" time she actually extended her class from 60 minutes to 75 minutes. Perhaps it was to incorporate these sessions, but isn't it awesome when you have an instructor that is willing to work a little extra for you? Regarding the class itself, I took SoFluid. Some things to know about SoFluid: - It is a modern take on yoga and incorporates music and you flow throughout the class to the music - It is a yoga mixed kind of dance workout (sounds weird, but it's fun). - It can be a bit intimating and difficult to keep up with, but I thik once you get the hang of it it is really fun. I still didn't full get the hang of it even towards the end of the class, but it's fine. - You will work out a sweat from the movements and transitions - It is not your typical yoga class I highly recommend trying out Lillian's class. I started working out with Lillian about eight months ago and I can truly say my life has changed in so many ways! I love her energy, I love how each class is different and I love how hard she pushes me to go above and beyond. What I love the most is her sense of community and how she brings everyone from her classes together, to one single community. As an instructor, she follows the vibes of the group. She always bring new and exciting things to each practice. Each of the spaces where she teaches are also amazing. I never imagined I'd be working out at a club, or doing yoga at a super sacred studio. The vibes are always amazing! I've became a healthier and more mindful person since I started practicing her programs. My favorite is SoFluid, I honestly hate yoga, but her SoFluid class goes beyond yoga movements. 4 years later and I'm still rockin' with the one and only Lillian So. SOfit has evolved into a sanctuary where you can deepen your physical and mental strength. Every class starts in a circle so we can open up while breathing in her homemade essential oils. Lillian asks the community a question or just checks in with us to really set the intentions for class. Having the right mindset is important; it really keeps you focused throughout the experience. The workouts continue to be challenging because Lillian truly cares about her students well-being and growth. She really encourages you to do your best, even though there may be a little bit of a learning curve for newer students. Staying on beat to the music is key! Lillian has found homes at Temple Night Club and City Dance Annex for all four of her classes. Spinning at the nightclub sessions is the Bay Area's own DJBLUZ. Brian and Lillian give you that IRL (In Real Life) experience. They never rehearse the class, Lillian does her thing and Brian does his thing and it turns into something unique every time. SOfit also has a very user friendly app on iOS and Android for signing up and taking her classes. Lillian is a life coach, trainer, astrologist and everything else in between. The SOfit community has grown so much over the years. It's nice to see the positive changes within the community and it's definitely inspiring. Lillian's classes are truly something special. She offers four types of classes - SoFree (movement / dance based), SoFluid (yoga based), SoFierce (for the badass in you that wants to tackle burpees and high intensity cardio workouts) and SoDefined (for defining key muscle groups, think shoulders and triceps and glutes). They're not your typical classes though because 1) she has a LIVE DJ for her SoFierce and SoDefined classes; 2) she values community and self empowerment; and 3) her workouts really work and you can definitely see improvements within your body AND mind. It's taken me so long to write this review because honestly I wasn't sure how I'd be able to give Lillian the justice she deserves! When I moved to San Francisco about 10 months ago, I was coming from a place where I had a steady fitness routine and people to workout with - it all felt very comfortable. So, when I got to the bay, I felt a bit lost looking for a way to get back into my routine. Gyms felt too cold and crowded, yoga studios were too niche, bootcamps were too competitive... But one day my coworker told me about these classes she's been going to for over a year that were in (wait for it...) a nightclub. With a DJ. And a badass fitness instructor with pink hair. I was a little hesitant at first because it seemed like sensory overload but eventually I made my way to the class (dragging along two of my friends) and when I say my mind was blown... my mind was BLOWN. You walk through an incognito door and are greeted by a SOfit veteran who directs you to the club's basement level where you are hit in the face by neon pink lights, a dance floor, a DJ booth, and some seriously satisfying beats. Lillian starts off every class with "circle time" where she asks everyone to share an answer to her question of the day (it usually pertains to the theme of the class - fierce, fluid, defined, etc). As a semi-awkward introvert, this was the most uncomfortable part for me when I first started attending class but as the months have gone on, you realize how important this is. Lillian is all about community, something that, in the fitness world, can be hard to come by at times. I can say as I've continued to regularly attend classes, you do become part of the SOfit family. We hang out on the weekends, create one-off classes amongst ourselves if Lillian's out of town, and genuinely look forward to the evenings we spend together at class. Lillian is extremely thoughtful. She cares about what's going on in your life and is attentive and aware of ways she can make your class a bit more personalized based on any injuries, soreness, or problems areas you're hoping to work on. I have been working with Lillian So of SOfitsf, for over 6 months now. To say that she has changed my life for the better is an understatement. Her program has changed the quality of my life, improved my self-confidence and taught me sustainable methods to coping with stress, emotional eating and clean eating. A behavior that have changed since my work with Lillian began, is my commitment to 'sticking to the plan' while not hating myself if I slip-up or make a bad decision. In days of yore, I would beat myself up over a poor choice in food or not exercising, which would eventually lead to more bad choices such as binge eating. Now I am able to accept the poor choice and have confidence that it isn't going to ruin all the work I have been doing. It's just a speed bump in my day that can easily be rectified by making sure I am making best choices throughout the rest of my day. Another behavior that has changed since my work with Lillian is how I manage stress. Working a desk job has it's perks when it comes to pay and benefits, however the amount of stress I was handling is what played a key part in my emotional eating, poor sleep habits and inability to feel happy in my work environment. Once I started working with Lillian, I noticed that suddenly there was less negativity in my life, more self-realization that I am capable and talented in my work and overall less stress. The benefit of less stress and negativity in my life, has allowed me to soar professionally, and has actually improved me relationships both in and outside of the work environment. A direct effect of my work with Lillian has shown through in how I feel about myself. I don't feel a black cloud hanging over my head. I don't feel like I am in an upward climb in my weight loss goals. Every week, I am becoming more certain of myself and my tools. I understand that I will always be a work in progress and that the number on the scale is not a diagnosis of my value or worth. This shift in self-appreciation has translated to success in the workplace. For the first time in years, I feel like I am being heard by my business partners. I feel like I have earned the trust of upper level management and executives. I have truly become my most professional self, and am so happy in my career, which is definitely a first! Obsessed!!! Lillian is the most passionate and amazing instructors I have experienced ever. I have never experienced an instructor that has moved me to go to all lengths to hit up one of her classes. I have been able to experience each of her SoFit classes at StudioMix and cannot get enough of them. Beyond the amazing work-out and physical changes I experience after taking her classes, I get something that I have never felt from leaving any other class...I leave feeling SEXY AS HELL. Despite being drenched in sweat and my hair being a hot mess, I still leave with a swagger. I started working with Lillian and joined her breakthrough program in December 2020. Everything was great in my life, but I still felt like something was missing. My first encounter with Lil was when I took a class she was teaching. As usual I felt like I wasn't doing the exercises right. I knew my movement was off, but was unsure of how, or how to correct it. Lil had exercised extreme attention to detail during the class. She has an eye for form and is great at painting a mental picture with her instructions- something that helped me immensely. I approached her for one on one sessions. I sought Lil out for help with my body & form, but she gave me so much more. She taught me the importance of mind body connectivity. Lilian is AMAZING! Hands down best instructor I've ever had for overall strength, flexibility and hard core fitness. I've been taking her So Fit classes at the Bay Club for the last year and after only a couple of months I could see a dramatic change in my body's shape. We're talking toned, strong & better posture. Lillian is an incredibly talented and dedicated fitness professional, life coach, community builder and a wonderful and supportive motivating person. I have been working with Lillian for at least the past 8 years as a private client (I know she was in her 20's when we started). I have also been a semi-regular in many of her group fitness classes including her So Fluid evening programs. I can say first hand that if you are serious about bettering yourself, Lillian is the person to work with. She is very holistic in her approach; combining her knowledge of the body, with innovative body movement techniques and life coaching skills. She is very intuitive and will help you help yourself if you make the effort. She will even use psychology and astrology as part of her body and mind philosophy and teaching. I met Lillian through the Bay Club. I was working with someone else and the then general manager recommended I go to Lillian as I was rehabbing after an injury. We have been working together ever since. She also began working with my wife last year. Veronica was battling cancer. By using Lillian's movement, massage and especially her mindfulness techniques, we were able to give my wife the chance she needed to overcome the odds and me, the courage I needed to be supportive and present while we battled this terrible disease. Even though the disease was terminal in the end, Lillian was there for us every step of the way. She gave us resolve, hope, strength, fortitude and peace - exactly what we needed - even though the doctors told us that the disease was incurable. I am a tough critic and would not be recommending Lillian if I didn't believe that she is the real deal. She is! I am very grateful for all she has done for me over the years, all she did for our family when we needed her the most last year, and all she is continuing to do for me and others now. I have had the pleasure to join with several key people in her SoFit community on Tuesday nights. They are all warm, welcoming and supportive of each other and the community as a whole. One year later and my experience with SOfit has only gotten better. Lillian has helped me improve my body and my mind and has created a strong community that I can rely on for love, support, and laughs. Working with Lillian has been the most transformative experience of my life. I really became dedicated to my health and well-being in the beginning of 2017. I was not happy with my weight, my career, or my personal life and realized that I needed to make big changes. I knew I already had an amazing community with SOfit, but I was mainly focused on the workouts. It wasn't until I opened myself up to and started doing the "work" that real changes started happening. Because of Lillian, I have been able to change the negative narratives I had been following my entire life. I now have the tools to identify these stories and know how to work through them, or even completely turn them around. I am not as pessimistic or cynical as I was a year ago. I am physically lighter because of the group classes (I don't weigh myself, but my pants size has gone down from a 33-32 to a 30-29), but I also feel emotionally lighter. There has been a visible positive change in my attitude. People who have recently met me think that I have always been this way, but my friends who have known me longer are quick to tell them that is not true! I am doing things now that I used to tell myself I would never do. I meditate every day, I practice positive self-talk, I work out at least 3 days a week (but always aiming for 5), I meal prep every Sunday, have improved my relationships, am making moves in my career, and I am making myself a priority. Also, I can do a headstand now! I think the reason I am able to connect so well with Lillian is that she is REAL. She does not pretend to be perfect or to have everything figured out. She shares her struggles with us, and I really find that helpful and relatable. She is doing the work right alongside us. Lillian also doesn't judge your choices. I always feel free to share with her what is going on in my life. If she is concerned about something she will let me know, and also tells me why. She doesn't let me get away with any bullsh*t! If you are ready and open to transform your life, I cannot recommend working with Lillian more. read more

I love Lillian's classes. I have taken TAC and Maximum Threshold. She has infectious energy, great music and definitely keeps it interesting. Her classes are intense as you want to make them, but what I like is she is very open in allowing everyone to go at their own pace. Her classes are for beginners to the fittest of athletes, but you can't help but want to push yourself to her level. I have one really bad knee, but I can still take her classes because she coaches me through all the modifications I can make and still get an amazing, butt kicking work out. I might be staying in place while others are running or leaping, but I am still sweating and my muscles are burning. read more
