If you or your loved ones and friends ever have feet issues this is the specialist you want treating your family, there's no BS with Dr. J. I am forever grateful to have him come into my life, and the first tome in years I no longer have pain from walking or doing any activity, I can finally live my life without constant pain. I live in the high desert and our level of care is terrible, I have dealt with ankle and foot pain for last ten years. I have been to several doctors in my area who dismissed my symptoms and pain without ordering X-rays or an MRI, they just told me I was obese and needed to lose weight. I first saw Dr. J early 2025 thinking I had gout. Immediately on the spot he said I tore a tendon in my toe and the ligaments in my ankle were torn. He immediately ordered an MRI and an X-ray, which confirmed exactly what he told within three minutes of diagnosing me. He didn't tell me I was obese and that I needed to lose weight, he listened to my problems and showed empathy and compassion. I was around 400 lbs, at the time and could not get surgery until my weight came down. Dr. J connected me with the right people and helped me get the weight down, and he gave me PRP which helped with the pain in the meantime and kept me in a brace to prevent further injury. I was finally able to get surgery on April 8th, 2026 after getting down to 275. I have lost a significant amount of weight and Dr. J has personally gone out of his way to connect me with quality doctors and good plastic surgeons. Dr. J's techniques are the best, no metal screws or plates needed, two weeks on a knee scooter with week three in a walking boot for 3-4 weeks. I had my surgery April 8th and by May 11th I no longer needed the boot. Couldn't ask for a better doctor or a kinder person than Dr. J!

He has a wonderful bedside manner - kind, fun, and genuinely caring. He took the time to thoroughly explain my ankle stabilization and toe surgery, answering all my questions patiently and honestly. But what truly sets him apart is his dedication to going above and beyond for his patients. He truly has your back! For example, knowing I was recovering at home and couldn't celebrate my birthday, he actually ordered a special dinner for my husband and me! It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. When the surgery center closest to me, Advanced Surgical Center of Beverly Hills (which is the absolute worst surgery center in Los Angeles - avoid at all cost!) screwed up big time with my insurance and caused my mental duress and a panic attack minutes before my surgery, Dr. Joseph stood up for me without hesitation and then cancelled all of his surgeries there for a month. He puts patients over everything! Thanks to his skill and care, my recovery has been smooth and successful. I have no scar at all on my toe, and my ankle is healing nicely and will be minimal scaring - he's that good! I can't recommend Dr. Joseph highly enough. His staff is amazing too! So kind, cool, and helpful! If you're looking for a podiatrist who is not only an expert in his field but also a truly wonderful person, look no further!

My experience terrible experience with Dr. Mesiwala, followed by information from the PUBLIC RECORD…read morebelow, with links: I had 2 failed surgeries by Dr. Mesiwala. The first one left me with a spinal fluid leak (soaking the bed sheets with spinal fluid!) which required another surgery to repair it. This one one gave me a septic infection which put me in the ICU where my wife was told that I probably would not be going home. The wonderful hospital doctor ordered the swollen, infected area around my incision to be aspirated and tested to prove surgical infection. Before the team came to perform the aspiration procedure, Mesiwala came in and quickly ordered another nurse to administer an IV antibiotic (while he stood by and anxiously watched). This would make all of the infection tests from the surgical site come back negative. The hospital doctor on my case who ordered the test was furious about this cover-up antibiotic maneuver. She was very frank with me and said she "was shocked that he was still allowed to practice medicine but said it wouldn't go on for long." That was 18 years ago. Prior to the first surgery, a very well-known neurologist told me that Dr. Mesiwala "Has very poor judgment." A very strong statement from one MD against another, which I wish I had taken seriously. After my disastrous and nearly fatal experience, he suggested I get a lawyer and had his secretary give me the lawyer's phone number. He was on the medical board and wanted to use my case for more evidence to have Mesiwala's license revoked. I was too sick to deal with it and foolishly did not follow up. Also, prior to my surgery, even my home health nurse asked if I had done any research on Dr. Mesiwala. He then told me about the TV exposé on Dr. Mesiwala and the US Department of Justice Enterprise Corruption case for pushing a company's spinal implants after being given part of the company which made them. This is a Federal crime. I blame myself for not heeding the warnings. That's why I'm posting this for others. Now from the public record: Frequent Malpractice Lawsuits, Repeated Fraud, Medical Board Disciplinary Actions for Negligence, and a D.O.J. Racketeering investigation. The information below just scratches the surface. 1. He was also the subject of a CBS LA news expose where he was outed for a non-FDA-approved mixture of two bone growth compounds without disclosure to the patients. This resulted in patients requiring surgeries to remove uncontrolled bone growth which had crippled them. Three years ago, I was shocked to see Dr. Mesiwala on a website as one of the "Top Three Neurosurgeons in The Inland Empire". I forwarded the public information to the online publisher. The very next morning he was removed from the list and I got a phone call with an apology from the publisher. This is an unscrupulous man who, if there were any justice, should not be practicing medicine. He quite obviously possesses no moral character demonstrates horrible judgement and extreme dishonesty.
