Also gave excellent guidance on coordinating an electrician for the wiring for our new electric water heater. The scheduling was very prompt. Two plumbers came the next day after the electrician did the wiring. I felt that the cost of the new water heater and installation was very reasonable. My only dissatisfaction was that one of the plumbers was not diligent about proper COVID-19 precautions and often did not wear a mask inside our home. Our water heater is located inside our house. This plumber also used our bathroom without first asking and did not wear his mask. I had to directly request that he kept his mask on. I wanted to let the manager know about this lack of CoVid precautions and left several messages to discuss this, instead of leaving a less than sterling review on Yelp. But he never got back to me.

I've hired countless plumbers to help me. Then, a friend recommended Marvs! Dave came to the rescue, after two of my sump pumps stopped working and I was shop vac-ing water for days. He realized the pumps were not only broken but they were the wrong pumps. He installed new ones as well as alarms so that if the power went out (or for any other reason the pumps stopped working)-- I would know! He was generous with his time and explained what was going on. He sent someone out to check on it the next day. His bill was very reasonable. In this climate, water is a constant threat to our homes and property and we must be proactive. Don't worry, though. Let the experts handle it! Marv's plumbing has the answers for you!

I was not hoping too much but when I called, I got quick response, a work order was placed over the phone. The company sent in two plumbers with tools and a truck next day. The plumbers were very professional. They have rubber suits to work in the crawl space in the house and replaced the busted pipe and added a new outlet so that I have another outlet for my outdoor plan. When I tried to troubleshoot before, I had damaged the wall outlet. They had the same spare part in the truck and the plumber installed that for me for free. My problem was solved. The service received from the plumbers were most courteous and professional. Thankyou Barkley Plumbing for doing such an excellent job!

Robert told me on the phone that he may have to do a leak detection service where a camera goes down the pipe to find the leak or break. When he gets there he'll determines if that need to happen and if he doesn't need to do it, he'll take it off the service order. I said ok. When he came out, he looked under the sink, looked in the crawl space and then the water heater. My tenant was complaining the water takes a long time to get hot. Shortly after that I received a call from him and he explained the estimate for nearly $4,700 worth of work. He also blamed my tenant for putting the water heater too high and believes that could have melted the pipes and caused the leak but he won't know for sure until he comes back to open the walls up. Once I reviewed the estimate saw a charge for leak detection service and a very expensive rate to change a hose bib I started to dig into the situation. I spoke to my tenant who confirmed that he did not use a camera to look in any pipes or cut any walls in the crawl space. I called another plumber who came out within an hour opened the wall behind the sink and some kitchen flooring and found the leak. It had nothing to do with the water heater. The honest plumber charged me $1,100 to do the job. While the plumber was fixing things I texted Robert and canceled the job. He then said pay the agreed work and I responded asking if he meant a service call fee. I told him the leak detection work of using a camera or cutting into a wall in the crawl space (or anywhere for that matter) was not done as stated on the invoice. He then became very rude. I had Barron install a new 96% efficient furnace and AC system. There were some positives to the…read moreexperience, but there were also several details that left me disappointed, especially considering the cost of a full HVAC installation. The installation team reconnected vents to the master and guest bedrooms and repaired a crushed return line, which I appreciated. However, I noticed the repaired return had multiple unsealed screw holes. While I can seal the visible holes myself with silicone, I have no way of knowing if there are additional leaks on top of the ductwork that I cannot see. More importantly, sealing those penetrations should have been completed as part of the installation. They actually sealed the seams where the old meets the repair. Prior to the installation, we discussed running the refrigerant lines adjacent to the existing HVAC chase. Instead, the lines were run on the opposite side of the hallway and continue through the middle of the laundry room. It's not the end of the world, and the system still functions, but it creates a much bigger challenge to conceal the lines and significantly lowers the ceiling in that area. I was also instructed to pour a concrete pad with minimum dimensions of 18" x 36", so I went above and beyond and poured a 24" x 40" pad to provide extra room. During installation, I was told the actual required dimensions were 36" x 36", which resulted in the installer placing a foam pad over the concrete pad. This could have been avoided with more accurate communication upfront. To bring the new system up to code, two vents needed to penetrate my single-membrane roof. Prior to performing the roof penetrations, Barron informed me that they were not qualified to seal the penetrations. While I appreciate the transparency, this information came only after I had already paid a 50% deposit and committed to the project. This left me responsible for finding and hiring another contractor to complete a very small roofing job. Finding someone willing to take on such a minor project has been frustrating, and two weeks later I am still waiting for the penetrations to be properly sealed. I understand that HVAC contractors may not perform specialized roofing work, but this should have been identified during the estimating process so the project could have been properly planned and coordinated before I committed to the installation. Overall, the equipment appears to be good, and there were aspects of the installation that were done well. However, the lack of communication, attention to detail, and coordination between trades turned what should have been a straightforward HVAC replacement into a frustrating experience.

When she…read moreasked for an estimate, she was told that they cannot do knob-and-tube wiring replacement and to contact an electrical contractor. I would think that an electrical company would be an electrical contractor. Anyway, we will never contact them for ANY electrical work.

We had him swing by our house to ensure we installed the toilet correctly. He arrived wearing a mask followed all covid procedures and confirmed that we did the replacement correctly. He also went ABOVE AND BEYOND and checked out the sink/ vanity replacement we did and was able to use a special tool he had to help us tighten the hoses. Their website says they specialize in commercial construction, but they were extremely knowledgable with our residential project. We will definitely utilize Northwest Plumbing again in the future.
