Be careful! I called Best, spoke to Drew, and was quoted a $798 FLAT RATE to clear my storm drains with an auger. I was also told by Drew that an auger would be the most gentle and effective way to clear them. Drew scheduled my work the next day (was surprised by happy about that). I clarified with Drew that they would be coming out to do the work (not to estimate) and time of arrival. Next day arrives and I am informed that the fee is $798 PER HOUR and that they'd be here for at least 4-6 hours and could not fit me in for a week. 1). I was told they would be working at my house, so I cleared my schedule. I even clarified this with Drew and he assured me they were coming to do the work. 2) A flat rate is an entirely different thing from an hourly rate. What you did, Drew, is called a bait and switch. NOT OKAY! 3). An auger (now I know) is NOT the best or most gentle way to clear storm drains, Educate yourself re the solution and make sure you get your quote in writing! read more

Had them come out to clean out a drain line from a catch basin at the end of my driveway that I knew was partially plugged. When they started, it would backup after a little while as it couldn't handle the hose flow. Turns out it went off in a totally different direction than I expected, got the end properly exposed and they cleaned out the perforated drain line. Easily handles the flow from a hose now. Being without a kitchen sink is NOT acceptable in any way, shape or form! A friend came by to assist to no avail, blockage was more than 8 ft of snake sadly, much deeper. John was extremely helpful when I called to get my shower drain checked. I called in the morning and he returned my call within an hour and a half. He was able to come by then, but I was at work so he was flexible and gave me a timeframe he'd be able to make it and let me know he'd call in advance so I wouldn't need to take more work off then necessary. When the window came up, I received a call from John and he notified me his previous job was taking longer than expected and gave me the option of rescheduling or coming over after he finished it up. I asked if he could still come by that day and he was happy to do so. His response made me feel a lot better for asking so I wouldn't need to wait another day; which was a great relief because I was worried I was asking too much. When he came by he was very professional (and kind to my cat) and was able to resolve the issue quickly while teaching me a thing or two to help prevent the issue in the future. Should I ever have issues again in the future, I'll definitely be reaching out to John. For pricing items: I did not request a quote in advance, I went off the worst case scenario based on other reviews and was happy that the price was much lower ($150) for the visit and the drain cleaning. I started having backyard flooding coincident with a plugged sump box drain. The prior homeowner had attempted to deal with the significant runoff from the slope above with some odd rerouting. Suffice it to say that the cause of the flooding was not obvious and took some thoughtful assessment by Chris and Skyler from Best Rooter. Chris was very clear about the possibility that snaking the drain might not be successful, about exactly how he would cost out the job, and what my options were. They also listened thoughtfully to the information I provided on my prior observations and hypothesis. He and Skyler than slogged their heavy snake equipment across some very difficult, muddy terrain. They were able to clear the blockage. The sump is draining, and an hour later the yard puddling has dissipated. All this was accomplished in an hour. The cost was quite reasonable, they were both friendly and professional. Chris responded promptly to my initial call, was flexible in meeting my scheduling needs, and called the morning of the service to verify the appointment. As they were leaving Chris provided advice and information on preventive maintenance I could do to lessen the likelihood of requiring their services in the future. Our toilet was slow to drain and fill which ended with a gurgle! It was either a call to our regular plumber or a roto rooter business. After a mini research online, we decided and called BEST ROOTER SERVICE. Chris and James were on another job site and came after they were done. I have had experiences with other companies that will say they can unclog your drain only to have them show up and offer to give you an estimate to redo the plumbing in your house claiming that is the only way to solve your problem. Exceptional customer service! To begin with I called Best Rooters and got an answering service and left a message for them to call me. I ended up getting another company out to fix the problem because of the emergency nature of the repair. When the other company was unable to fix the problem I called Best Rooters again. After a second message and another company asked to come out, I received a call from John. He apologized for how long it took to return my call and listened as I told him what the problem was and what had been done that didn't work. Even though he knew that he might not get the job because I had someone else lined up to come out, John spent about 10 minutes talking over my problem with me. He was very knowledgeable and spent time trying to do what he could to help me even if he didn't get the job. In the end the contractor arranged to come out didn't so I called John back and had him come out for the repair. I very much appreciate the work that John and his team did! Not only did they get the job done they were able to explain what they thought had happened and what I could do to help prevent it from happening again. Called several companies listed under septic services because septic system was backing up into house, assuming tank needed to be pumped or leech lines cleared. This company was first to respond. Tech confirmed tank full, needed to be pumped and that they DON'T PUMP! So I paid $160.88 to be told to call someone else to pump our tank. Lack of knowledge about companies services resulted in a waste of $160. Don't make my mistake. read more

This is one of the best service business contacts I have had in many years.I called and talked to John, the owner, in the late morning about a sewer pipe blockage that had effectively rendered all of my facilities useless. He said that he understood the urgency of my problem and that they could be over between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. They arrived at 2:30 PM and it was immediately evident that they were competent professionals. I have worked wiith many trades over the years and I don't care what the field is being competent and friendly is somewhat uncommon anymore. John and Richard were exceptional. Don't use them!! $375 to snake the drain to unclog. Upcharged by over a third of the price they quoted. We also had to wait a day with backed up drains (couldn't use the shower or flush toilets) because they came all the way out and didn't have the right materials. Said they would come back next morning, came at 2 pm then told us it would be extra once they got here. I have only good things to say about Best Rooter. We unfortunately called Roto Rooter first when my 89 year old fathers sewer line became plugged. My dad paid them $200.00 for them to tell him they couldn't unplug the line and they then quoted him $2,595.00 plus tax to replace the plugged line.
