They were effective, on time, and got the job done. And that deserves 5 stars. My only knock on the stars was minimum service fee is $248. Which is a pretty big shell shock. read more

Chris has had me for a customer multiple times, working with my old house problems. He's saved me bunches of money with his advice and products, works hard at an unpleasant job with an easy personality. Making an appointment is easy, and he definitely gives good value for money. read more

Be careful! I called Best, spoke to Drew, and was quoted a $798 FLAT RATE to clear my storm drains with an auger. I was also told by Drew that an auger would be the most gentle and effective way to clear them. Drew scheduled my work the next day (was surprised by happy about that). I clarified with Drew that they would be coming out to do the work (not to estimate) and time of arrival. Next day arrives and I am informed that the fee is $798 PER HOUR and that they'd be here for at least 4-6 hours and could not fit me in for a week. 1). I was told they would be working at my house, so I cleared my schedule. I even clarified this with Drew and he assured me they were coming to do the work. 2) A flat rate is an entirely different thing from an hourly rate. What you did, Drew, is called a bait and switch. NOT OKAY! 3). An auger (now I know) is NOT the best or most gentle way to clear storm drains, Educate yourself re the solution and make sure you get your quote in writing! read more

Had them come out to clean out a drain line from a catch basin at the end of my driveway that I knew was partially plugged. When they started, it would backup after a little while as it couldn't handle the hose flow. Turns out it went off in a totally different direction than I expected, got the end properly exposed and they cleaned out the perforated drain line. Easily handles the flow from a hose now. I would definitely call them again. read more

Being without a kitchen sink is NOT acceptable in any way, shape or form! A friend came by to assist to no avail, blockage was more than 8 ft of snake sadly, much deeper. This same type blockage had occurred about 2 yrs ago. Our condo exec team called & arranged to have a "plumber" come out. Little did I expect such competent friendly service. Chris was timely, very informative & provided fast complete service. Deeply appreciated by this client. Will highly recommend! read more

We had a slow and backing up drain in our basement. After a referral from a local plumbing company we contacted Best Rooter Service here in Bellingham. They arranged to come out the very same day. Our service technician, Erick M. troubleshooted the problem and cleared it. He was very helpful and explained everything he was doing. We are very thankful and satisfied. read more

We'd just moved into the new house. The sewer line was plugged. Since we don't know anybody here, we called our realtor for a recommendation. "Best Rooter Service - they really are the best." Chris came out at 7:00 pm, after an already long Friday. We found the septic tank clean out and he got to work. In a few minutes the clog was removed and the lines clear. The house had sat empty for months - may have caused the blockage. Chris was prompt, friendly and professional throughout. I can recommend Best Rooter Service without hesitation. read more

I am new to the area and had a clogged shower drain...due to all the good ratings, I called Best Rooter Service. They were able to come the same day and were able to unclog my drain almost immediately and offered a minimum rate rather than full service as it was repaired almost immediately. Very professional and personable. I couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommended. read more

Wonderful service that I am happy to recommend! Chris was thorough and professional. He's also a really nice man and no, I am not his mother. read more

John was extremely helpful when I called to get my shower drain checked. I called in the morning and he returned my call within an hour and a half. He was able to come by then, but I was at work so he was flexible and gave me a timeframe he'd be able to make it and let me know he'd call in advance so I wouldn't need to take more work off then necessary. When the window came up, I received a call from John and he notified me his previous job was taking longer than expected and gave me the option of rescheduling or coming over after he finished it up. I asked if he could still come by that day and he was happy to do so. His response made me feel a lot better for asking so I wouldn't need to wait another day; which was a great relief because I was worried I was asking too much. When he came by he was very professional (and kind to my cat) and was able to resolve the issue quickly while teaching me a thing or two to help prevent the issue in the future. Should I ever have issues again in the future, I'll definitely be reaching out to John. For pricing items: I did not request a quote in advance, I went off the worst case scenario based on other reviews and was happy that the price was much lower ($150) for the visit and the drain cleaning. The drain was slow but did not require the cable (glad I called now rather than waiting a few months!) so it was much cheaper than I was expecting. read more

I'd been limping along with a sluggish toilet for some weeks, meaning until something changed, I would not be having anyone to my home. Finally, in desperation, I called Best Rooter. John came out to inspect my recalcitrant toilet and had it fixed in a half hour. He was professional, expert and friendly. Anytime I ever need plumbing services again, I will call Best Rooter. Thanks, John! read more

I started having backyard flooding coincident with a plugged sump box drain. The prior homeowner had attempted to deal with the significant runoff from the slope above with some odd rerouting. Suffice it to say that the cause of the flooding was not obvious and took some thoughtful assessment by Chris and Skyler from Best Rooter. Chris was very clear about the possibility that snaking the drain might not be successful, about exactly how he would cost out the job, and what my options were. They also listened thoughtfully to the information I provided on my prior observations and hypothesis. He and Skyler than slogged their heavy snake equipment across some very difficult, muddy terrain. They were able to clear the blockage. The sump is draining, and an hour later the yard puddling has dissipated. All this was accomplished in an hour. The cost was quite reasonable, they were both friendly and professional. Chris responded promptly to my initial call, was flexible in meeting my scheduling needs, and called the morning of the service to verify the appointment. As they were leaving Chris provided advice and information on preventive maintenance I could do to lessen the likelihood of requiring their services in the future. I have no personal connection with this business or the professionals who provided the service. Highly recommended. read more

Our toilet was slow to drain and fill which ended with a gurgle! It was either a call to our regular plumber or a roto rooter business. After a mini research online, we decided and called BEST ROOTER SERVICE. Chris and James were on another job site and came after they were done. Chris quickly identified the clog issue (as the toilet & not the line) and James performed the auger. As quickly as it was assessed, the work was done under 30 minutes. We are pleased with Chris and James professionalism, expertise and definitely call them again! read more

I have had experiences with other companies that will say they can unclog your drain only to have them show up and offer to give you an estimate to redo the plumbing in your house claiming that is the only way to solve your problem. This is not the case with Best Rooter Service. They don't do plumbing. They unclog pipes. Thats what they said they would do and it is what they did. Quick, efficient, and friendly. If I ever need drain service again I will call Best Rooter Service! read more

Oh SNAP! These guys are IT! Leaking @ base of toilet. Called at 8:30am. Chris(!!) was here by 11:30am and I'm typing this at 11:56am. Prompt, professional, personable, tidy, had the all the necessary equipment and explained what issues were and how he can get it repaired. Tested the work multiple times to ensure resolution. Price was reasonable imho. VERY PLEASED! Will call them back as first option from now on. read more

Exceptional customer service! To begin with I called Best Rooters and got an answering service and left a message for them to call me. I ended up getting another company out to fix the problem because of the emergency nature of the repair. When the other company was unable to fix the problem I called Best Rooters again. After a second message and another company asked to come out, I received a call from John. He apologized for how long it took to return my call and listened as I told him what the problem was and what had been done that didn't work. Even though he knew that he might not get the job because I had someone else lined up to come out, John spent about 10 minutes talking over my problem with me. He was very knowledgeable and spent time trying to do what he could to help me even if he didn't get the job. In the end the contractor arranged to come out didn't so I called John back and had him come out for the repair. I very much appreciate the work that John and his team did! Not only did they get the job done they were able to explain what they thought had happened and what I could do to help prevent it from happening again. Also their prices were very fair with upfront pricing so that I had no suprises. I will call them again if I ever need any drains cleared out. read more

John is reliable and has done a great job keeping our line clean. They have come on holidays and after hours. Highly recommend John or chris..and when we replace our sewer line we will have John do that!! read more

These guys rock. A wealth of knowledge and professionalism to get the job done right. When I was encouraged by others to replace an entire sewer line, these guys assured me that a simpler fix would get things flowing and be just as effective. They took the shittyness out of having to fix my sewer line! read more

John Wiley came out at 8 pm tonight. I live in a bottom floor condo and I was bailing water out of my sink as fast I could. John assessed that this wasn't a "my condo" problem (I'm just at the bottom of the tree trunk) and he remedied it. He was personable and cleaned up everything. He even rescues animals! Can't recommend highly enough!! read more

If you're thinking about using any company other than Best Rooter for your plumbing issues, DON'T. John provided the most upfront and honest service I've been a part of in a long time. We had another company come out and pull the wool over our eyes, saying we needed to pay at least $1400 to clear our backed up plumbing. Thank goodness I asked for a second opinion. John came out and walked me, literally, through the entire process. He ran his instruments down the piping, cleared it up, and said to contact him if it backs up within the next 5 years. This only cost me $270 total, which is a huge relief! John, thank you so much for being a fantastic plumber and even better person. read more

Called several companies listed under septic services because septic system was backing up into house, assuming tank needed to be pumped or leech lines cleared. This company was first to respond. Tech confirmed tank full, needed to be pumped and that they DON'T PUMP! So I paid $160.88 to be told to call someone else to pump our tank. Lack of knowledge about companies services resulted in a waste of $160. Don't make my mistake. read more

Requested a quote for and auger and camera of my main drain via the yelp app late last night. Received quote that night. Was on the phone with Chris this morning at 8:45 to give details. He arrived at my house shortly after 9 and was done by 10. Chris was 1 of 2 plumbers I called who was willing to talk price over the phone and was cheaper than the other. I hope I won't be calling him again but I know who to call if I need it. read more

This is one of the best service business contacts I have had in many years.I called and talked to John, the owner, in the late morning about a sewer pipe blockage that had effectively rendered all of my facilities useless. He said that he understood the urgency of my problem and that they could be over between 2:00 and 4:00 PM. They arrived at 2:30 PM and it was immediately evident that they were competent professionals. I have worked wiith many trades over the years and I don't care what the field is being competent and friendly is somewhat uncommon anymore. John and Richard were exceptional. Not only did they analyze the problem quickly and complete the work in short order they were friendly and explained what they were doing as they went along. When they were finished they did an excellent job of cleanup. In my career I worked with many people in the trades and these were definately two of the best. I would recommend this business to anyone. read more

Don't use them!! $375 to snake the drain to unclog. Upcharged by over a third of the price they quoted. We also had to wait a day with backed up drains (couldn't use the shower or flush toilets) because they came all the way out and didn't have the right materials. Said they would come back next morning, came at 2 pm then told us it would be extra once they got here. They had already been out here the day before and knew the scope of the project, such BS. read more

Such a great job unplugging drains! What a nice dude.

I have been extremely happy with John's professionalism and willingness to help us reduce costs by giving us options for repairs. Best Rooter has snaked drains, repaired broken pipe, installed clean-out access, and been terrific for years. I shopped around when I was living in the Bellingham house, and their prices were better than anywhere else. But for the past 10 years it's been great to know that I don't NEED to shop around anymore!! Now, when our tenants let us know about an issue, I just call John, and know it won't be a problem for long. read more

I have only good things to say about Best Rooter. We unfortunately called Roto Rooter first when my 89 year old fathers sewer line became plugged. My dad paid them $200.00 for them to tell him they couldn't unplug the line and they then quoted him $2,595.00 plus tax to replace the plugged line. Thankfully we decided to get a second opinion and called Best Rooter. John from Best Rooter came out on 12/30/14 on a very cold day and did what we expected Roto Rooter to do, he unplugged the line. John saved us over $2,000.00 from what Roto Rooter was telling us we needed to spend! I can't say enough good things about Best Rooter and highly recommend them. read more
