Lemme tell ya this is worth the stop. That's what's left of a plate of jambalaya and it's going home with me. Reasonably priced, exceptionally flavored and the sausage seems homemade. Take the time to stop here as a nice break on I-10.

We are back in SW Louisiana for multiple reasons so trying out local places. Here are a few things that we have had from Lil Cochon's: Breakfast - 1. Smoked sausage and eggs over easy with toast 2. BLT Lunch - 1. Fried Fish with onion rings 2. Shrimp stew over rice Supper - Boiled Crawfish with boiled potatoes and corn They make all of their food to order. Their prices are more than reasonable and the portions are enough for two people to split. They are South of Interstate 10 at the Lacassine exit. You can buy smoked sausage and other meat to take home and cook. If you are lucky you won't see the old guy in the blue shirt, they usually hide him in the back.... :-D

Great little joint! Don't let the look of the place fool ya. Passing thru Louisiana and didn't want fast food - gave this place a try and even though their menu selection of Cajun food was slim - the bacon burger and chicken tender basket were delish!

Best Cajun food around! Sausage and boudin will have you asking Robi-who? Super friendly people--great plate lunches.

The shrimp po boy was great, can't say enough good things about the crab burger or the boudin balls!

After much per reasoning of the choices of the area we chose, Roy's Meat Market! From the moment we stepped into this beautiful establishment, we knew that all the previous reviews were true, a proven hidden gem. My first question was what is Bohdin? With that our waitress promptly pulled an entire 16 inch link out of the pan and cut it into three pieces and told us to try it and see if we liked it. It was delicious, I asked her what I owed, she said nothing. Everyone needs to try it! At that, my wife and I ordered, I ordered the shrimp. Po-Boy sandwich filled with the condiments that I selected. My wife ordered the smoked turkey salad, it was huge! We then ordered a couple of beers, and proceeded to our table to wait for our food. We were greeted by some wonderful people sitting in the dining room, who were so kind and so welcoming it felt like we were at someone's home sitting around the kitchen table with old friends. Come to find out it was the owner, and one of his longtime, trusted customers and friends. As we were getting ready to leave, we were able to have a wonderful conversation with the owner ourselves, we've made a decision. The folks down here are absolutely kind as can be and so welcoming. In regard to the food, try it all give it a chance and you won't be disappointed!

I was worried they'd wonder what some out of town folk were doing in what could have been a local haunt, but that fear was false. The shrimp po boy was perfect. The jalapeño Mayo brought just enough heat to open you up, but not so much that you hated your life. I'd definitely recommend this place.

They also had Fresh Made Pork Rinds, no worries one day I'm leaving the pork alone I decided to get the bag of Fresh Pork Rinds. They had frozen meats to go and gumbo to go. We did not grab meat because we still have a whole before we head home, they do have you a frozen bag on sale right next to the freezer and Fridge for your convenience. You should definitely stop by while visiting Louisiana! The Service was quick and easy and the Ambience was casual and comfortable with outdoor seating. So after performing at New Orleans Jazz Fest this past weekend, we finally made a stop to see if it lived up to the praise. Pulling up, it honestly looks like a simple gas station pit stop--the kind of place truck drivers frequent (and judging by the steady flow of trucks, that checks out). But stepping inside was a completely different experience. It was clean, open, and surprisingly welcoming. Before even ordering, we found ourselves in the frozen section grabbing items to take home--boudin, deer sausage, gumbo... you name it, they had it stocked and ready. It already felt like one of those hidden gems you're glad someone put you on to. Then came the food. My boyfriend has been talking about their fried ribs for over a year, so of course we had to order them. He also got chicken wings, while I kept it light with Cajun boudin balls and green beans. First bite of the boudin ball? I was pleasantly surprised. Flavorful, slightly doughy, but still really good. But let's get to the star of the show... The fried ribs. As someone who's lived in Texas for over 20 years, I had never even heard of fried ribs. But baby... these were it. Perfectly seasoned all the way through, incredibly tender, and honestly--you could barely even tell they were fried. Just juicy, flavorful, and done right. This review is really just to say: fried ribs are real... and In-Laws does them right. If you're ever driving between Texas and Louisiana--somewhere around Lake Charles or Lafayette--do yourself a favor and stop here. 10/10. Highly recommend.
