My husband and I shared 3 scoops which ended up being the perfect amount for us. This is definitely more of a special treat spot because it's not cheap but it's such a fun place to visit every once in a while. Even though it was busy, the line moved quickly and there was plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy our ice cream. We'll definitely be back!

Fresh great quality ingredients great service I think we tried 8 flavors before picking the one and the ambience is simple beach and spacious lots of tables and stray inside and out. I recommend getting your ice cream fix here during your beach vacation/getaway or if you live in Wilmington and haven't tried it yet .

We were pleasantly surprised to see so many positive reviews on YELP so we headed over. What's so good?? The ingredients really speak for the place. Everything is super fresh and you can taste the fact it is made to order. I got the classic "Pure Vida Açaí Bowl" with added banana for $0.75. The Açaí base was, again, very fresh and well blended without being a total purée. I loved the granola the most because it wasn't mushy the entire time: crunchy throughout is the way to go. The honey on top of the fruit (blueberries and strawberries and banana) was super organic and not too sweet. Great taste all around. We miss South Block in DC but Playa will be our go-to here in Wilmington!!!

According to my Doordash I am an A1+ customer of this franchise restaurant…read more Typically, with businesses who care about customer retention, A1+ customers are treated well. If there's an issue it gets solved quickly. The Mayfair location of Playa Bowls does not care about customer retention. They would prefer to hire young and good looking women who are not the friendliest or the quickest problem solvers. I have ordered Doordash Playa 16 times in the last 20 days. Today was the first time I ever went in that store. Because I do not have my Doordash full ingredients memorized, I tried pulling up Doordash in the store. For whatever reason, it was not working. The pretty young girl behind the register could not care less and in fact seemed rather irritated. The other pretty young girl making my food did not understand what I was trying to tell them when I figured out that Doordash had marked their business as being closed. I made them aware of this but they didn't care. They suffered from an excruciating lack of curiosity and customer retention skills because I will not be spending any more money at the store. I'm gonna make my Doordash person go all the way over to the other one so they get the money. I promise you, when I stop ordering from your store you're gonna notice. Whoever manages or owns this location needs to consider hiring people based on their skills and experience with customer service. I know it's a beach town, but there are a lot of really talented young people out here. And all of them would be better than the pretty ladies you like to look at. That's why they got hired. ETA: Please do not let the responsive "manager" fool you. The service at that location is absolutely terrible. There were three young women working and probably 15 to 20 people in the store. The rudest woman at the register was on her phone most of the time I was in there. Don't go to this location. It sucks. It's slow and they always mess something up, I just left that out because I didn't want to be too harsh but since the manager has decided to respond, they forget a lot. When I DoorDash from this location, I usually have to remind them to include the smoothie because they have forgotten it five times. Five times on the DoorDash order of two items. I should be able to get my order under 10 minutes. That's not possible at this location, even if they aren't busy. Because the people who work there do not care about their jobs and it is very obvious as soon as you go into the store. Let's see what the manager responds to now. I guarantee the owner is male and hires young women under the age of 30 based on how much he likes to look at them, not their skill set. That is a lie that men believe believes themselves.

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.
