Decided to stop today and just see what it was all about, I've heard great things. It was lunchtime and I was the only one there. But the showcases were not full, so lots of traffic before me. I was only going to look but when I saw the bagels , the sesame one was calling out to me. I was tempted to purchase the salt one, but decided on the sesame. It was huge , and plenty of seeds on it. Next time a cinnamon roll will call out to me. The staff member was friendly and did not rush me in making my choice. Brought the bagel home, it was a little soft, I like more of a crunchy outside and the inside I found a little doughy. But it had great flavor, toasted perfectly. Next time it may be a toss up , cinnamon roll or salted bagel , or both. Loved the non rushed atmosphere in the store. read more

We were in town for our annual vacation to Topsail Island and asked a few locals for a good bakery....Burneys was recommended. We decided to take a drive to check them out and we were very happy we did. We arrive later in the afternoon and still a good selection of pastries, cookies and cupcakes. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The cookies were delicious and super fresh...and large enough to share with others. I absolutely LOVE this place. Their food is always fresh, and there are so many options to choose from. Dessert has always been my favorite part of any meal, and ever since I discovered Burney's Sweets & More in Fayetteville, they have been my #1 choice! The prices are very affordable, especially considering how delicious their food is..... absolutely worth every penny. The workers are very friendly, and make the experience a 10/10 every single time. The store is kept clean and they have all your dessert options lined up in a huge case, which I like, because it's easier to decide when you see it rather than read it off the menu. The store manager Anthony is the most genuine, and generous person. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a few months ago, and I can honestly say he has given me the best customer service I have ever had, every time I've seen him. Checked out the new location of Burney's in Mayfaire on the grand opening day (9/30). It's located next to Roko's Italian Cuisine. The only seating inside are 4 countertop stools and outside there are two tables. What they're most what they are known for are the glazed sweet croissants. If you buy a dozen croissants ($15.99), it is cheaper than buying individual croissants. There are also other desserts, including donuts, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, pecan pie, cakes. There wasn't many options of donuts during my visit, just cinnamon swirl, donut holes, chocolate glazed, Halloween theme donuts. Now back to the croissants. It was easy to order since the croissants were ready to go in the display case. As I listed out what which flavors I wanted, the staff packaged the croissants in a white to-go cardboard box. The croissants are just delicious. The croissant texture is perfection - flaky, soft, buttery with crisp edges. They are bigger in size compared to Sweet D's. You can't go wrong with any flavor really. The flavors I tried were: maple bacon, strawberry, blueberry cream cheese, buttercream, cream cheese, chocolate fudge, and apple pie. Hard to pick my favorite ones, but if I had to choose I would pick the chocolate fudge and the blueberry cream cheese. Also tried the cinnamon swirl and cinnamon twist donuts. Wasn't a big fan of the cinnamon swirl. The cinnamon twist tasted okay. The donuts had a nice soft texture, but just not the best donuts I've ever had. They had one slice left of a little layer chocolate cake. I appreciate the hard work that was put into this cake, but it wasn't my favorite. It's yellow cake with multiple layers of chocolate and is covered in chocolate icing. The brownie was very good. You can choose a brownie topped with crushed pecans or without-both have chocolate frosting. The brownie was so fudgy and rich in flavor. The owner was nice enough to offer 10% discount for hospital employees, just for this week only. Definitely stop by for one of the best dessert croissants. read more

There is absolutely no going wrong here. Anything you get will be amazing. In particular, their stuffed croissants are to die for. There is always a wide assortment from cream cheese, raspberry, oreo, lemon, apple, strawberry cream cheese, and other specialty flavors. They are always soft and super fresh. Don't get me wrong, this place has some tasty treats. That's not the reason for my 3star rating. To me this place is missing an opportunity to be more things to more people. Yes, the glazed croissants are unique - never heard of this before Burney's - and they taste wonderful. But they are small and cost $2 each. Yes, they offer a selection of specialty cakes which are great birthdays and other occasions. But if I don't want either of these things, then there is no reason for me to go here. They did have other items, but nothing looked good to me. I wish their selection was bigger with more variety. I probably would have bought more stuff. Honestly. I love a good sweet shop and spend accordingly. But the limited inventory here was a struggle for me. I will buy from them again, when I am craving these very specific sweet treats. read more

They have a very week stocked cabinet of choices and it all looked so tasty! We ordered the key lime pie tart which is adorable and also good. I ordered the lava cake which I found disappointing as it was a bit dry and no lava came pouring out. Regardless, we want to return to taste their doughnuts and croissants. read more

I order roughly $1000 worth of Burney's per year. Probably more. I love Burney's. I started ordering from them when they opened their original location in Elizabethtown. I have ordered from their Wallace store,their Waxhaw store, the Hampstead store, the Mayfaire store, and the Southport store. Since they opened the Mayfaire store, I mostly order from that location. I have consistently had problems. I love their baked goods, but I have called in several orders and gone into the store to place orders ahead of time and many times they are wrong or not ready. On Tuesday I placed an order for 40 mini croissants. 10 glazed and the rest assorted filled. I specifically requested strawberry cream cheese and I received none of those. I specifically requested chocolate and I received no chocolate. I also only received 36 and the girl at the counter, when I told her my order was incorrect she said, "Sorry they are special order. There's nothing I can do. " Yes I know! That's why I special ordered them!!!! Now I don't have enough croissants for my event this afternoon. This is not the first time this has happened. I've never written a review, but this has gotten beyond ridiculous. I have ordered many cakes and cupcakes. I have given them pictures of how I would like them decorated and they always come out completely different. Just be upfront and honest and say you can't do it. Now I have to figure out something else to take to my event at the last minute because I don't have enough. It's infuriating that I was so specific and literally didn't get ANY of the flavors that I asked for. read more

Everything we ordered was delicious!!! We tried the cinnamon rolls w icing, lobster rolls, glazed donut, key lime tarts, apple fritters and various flavors of the filled croissants. We ate everything so fast I didn't snap photos of everything. Our favorites were the filled croissants and hands down the best apple fritters ever! Burneys is on the corner of the Mayfair shopping center across from Kale me Crazy. This is one of my favorite places to get a sweet treat while I shop. I love their croissants that are either glazed, topped with frosting or filled with a fruit or cream. The maple bacon croissant is an all time favorite. They make their products fresh in house and you can tell a big difference in the quality. I really enjoy their pastries and donuts too. Just stopped by here before my visit to the dentist and decided to try their filled croissants. I ordered a cream cheese strawberry filled and a cherry filled. The total cost for the two was 3.40$. They both had nice flavors. The croissant tasted a little dense but good. The filling tasted pre-made or packaged but compliments the croissants well. The worker on duty was pleasant. read more

This may be the first place I've been where everything tastes great. Come for the glazed croissants, stay for it all. The croissants are their specialty, and they have a variety of choices, all of which are delicious. We got a 15-later cake from here for a family birthday, and it was good (although not their best item). Incredibly moist and of course unique with the 15 layers. Most recently, we stopped by after lunch to get some treats, and made a few random selections. The cinnamon twist was okay, but it wasn't anything special. The apple fritter was big, but could've used more apples. My sister chose a cream-filled donut, which she seemed to enjoy, since she didn't leave me any. Lastly, we got a lucky charms Whoopie pie, which was really sweet, but absolutely amazing. Definitely not perfect, but they all really hit the spot at the time. AMAZING  GLAZED CROISSANT. Never had something like it and it was REALLY good. Especially when they are still fresh. And honestly I think the plain croissants are the best. Not too sweet just the perfect amount of sweetness. Only giving it 4 stars because of the poor service. The Croissant itself are 10 stars! :) My in In-Laws just moved to Hampstead and we where on the hunt for donuts. But their neighbor recommended Burney's. The first girl tried to tell me they do not do a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Then when I asked for something different because I did not want a yellow cake, the on-duty manager rolled her eyes at me like I was being difficult.
