**Ceasar wrote back and updated to this review. ** While I have the upmost respect for people dealing with family emergencies of course I wouldn't think to bother him during this time. The fact is with emails to support, there was no "maybe" Caesar may have forgotten about our confirmed appointment I made that Tuesday the week prior for Friday. That's one week in advance. If I was unclear when I said "just want to make sure we're good for Friday" When I emailed on my way to his shop, (day of) as instructed because calling wasn't the best method of communication. Which is why we emailed. I don't have time for this when both lights have failed BOTH. After letting the fog lights aside, when I lost low beams that was a major issue with me as I was driving home from work without headlights. This is unacceptable to me. And a serious safety issue. I had to leave my daily driver home because driving at night wasn't viable seeming the issue was serious. My wife and I just purchased another car and I wanted to get the new HID's setup ASAP. But also was concerned about what was going on with my daily. And the Morimoto issues. I had to disconnect the HID's. A friend of mine helped me out, dropped the bumper and we had to convert everything to stock, this after I had a neck trauma a few months previous. So crawling around on the pavement wasn't something I could do at the time which is why I put my faith in Caesar. We had never before ran into any issues. And truth be told this isn't about money or labor as he is running a business and I wouldn't argue to that point at all. The moral of this story is that I needed help, and he pushed me aside. It was frustrating. If he forgot, no problem. If this was a miscommunication, fine on both parts. Just be honest and schedule another appointment. We were having a lot of issues with the system. I asked if we could swap out the morimoto for denso or higher quality ballasts for low beams and fogs. What concerns me is that he is still under the impression that any of my negative remark is regarding money. It isn't. This was his communication with me, after not hearing from him in months. Especially after a family emergency. I was honestly sincere and was hoping everything was ok. This is how we always setup our appointments. I naturally assumed we had it scheduled. Regardless, he is running a business. A simple follow up would have been great to #1 let me know he was alright and #2 if he was capable of working with me further on my issue. That's all. I finally decided to contact him after seeing posts on Lightwerkz Instagram. Imagine my confusion. Again, the work is great. I've never seen anything close to a specialist like this in NJ. Nothing. I had to find another company who was able to help me out, and asked who had done the previous install. When I told them who it was they weren't surprised at all, even stating that I wasn't the first person who had issues with "Morimoto" or Lightwerkz. Now I'm not going to say what it was that happened because I don't believe in tainting any companies reputation. That's not what I'm about. I just think he needs to work on a few things moving forward. Communication is one of them. None of this had to happen. And I'm a very loyal customer. Who believed in this company. So I smashed the passenger headlight in 2015, and Caesar had a new one with my old "guts" back out to me in less than a week! Still working like a champ and really love that the leveling kit in my new Tundra integrated with my light system. 12/3/19. Fooling around with some off road LEDs and-noticed crappy output from the driver's headlight, and the bulb had become unseated and was halfway in and out. It was a super-tight area to work in, and I was getting frustrated, so I called the shop and spoke to Brenden, who walked me through the process of re-seating the light, and it's back into easy! Great custom hid projector lights converted from oem stock lights. The best part about it is I had this done 10 years ago! With 180,000 miles on these lights, they look and work like new. They even work as daytime running lights so they've been on the entire 180k. Amazing. I'm am so happy I found this place. I have a 1998 Toyota 4Runner and wanted to repalce my old, busted headlights with some nice bi-xenon lights. I did a quick search online for "Brooklyn HID Retrofit" and found a local guy who gets good reviews from a lot of the lighting forums. His prices were reasonable, and outside of a handful of vocal online guys complaining about him, he generally got good reviews. So I took a shot and had my redo my lights. The turnaround was good and he did a good job on the headlights, but post sale support was absolutely miserable. I had several issues and his response time after he sold me the lights was often times days. Most recently, my lights stopped working altogether, and I simply couldn't drive the truck at night until it was fixed. Enter Lightwerkz. I worked with Cesar and he was absolutely, positively a joy to work with. I want you to think about this... how many times have you bought something online or from one vendor, had a problem with it, and needed to take it to a shop to fix it? Now how many times have those shops said, "sorry, we only warranty/work on products that were purchased directly from us." Lightwerkz was the exact opposite. I called him at 4pm on a Monday and told him the issues I had. He told me no problem and told me to bring it in the next morning at 7:30am and he'd take care of it. They are about 45min from NYC, so I figured I'd have to drop the car off and figure out a way to get back there either later that day or sometime later in the week. Nope. As soon as I got there he stopped what he was doing, had me walk him through what I had done to the car, and boom, he started working on it immediately. Come to find out, the Morimoto ballasts that were sold to me were an old version, and he said he'd happily give me the new version of the ballast for FREE. Wat. Are you kidding me? Let me get this straight, I was sold an old product from a completely unrelated company, and you're going to GIVE ME the new version of it, for FREE, and you're going to take care of the warranty claim on your time and dime? Who does that?? Are you serious?? This is customer service, ladies and gentlemen. He explained everything he was doing to the truck and took the time to educate me on the products and the process. I was in and out of the shop in under and hour. Everything is fixed and working great. He even aligned my headlights for me. Everybody should know about this place. If you're looking to get your headlights redone but were too nervous to take the jump, look no further! I've owned a ton of vehicles (both SUVs and track-ready sports cars), and this is one of the best shops I've ever worked with. I am SO Happy i found Lightwerkz. From start with the emails to a finished install, Caeser was helpful and very professional. I had originally wanted EVO XR's in my pre facelift E39, but then when i was at the shop Caeser showed me how they were NOT direct swap..as the interwebs had told me. Now, since it would be a retrofit either way, he suggested the FXR 3.0 projectors, I had secretly wanted those but decided whatever was easier, would be best. Luckily, it was NOT a direct swap and he was able to get the FXR's installed. The light output of course is amazing. IM using 3800k Moritmoto's, but think i will be going with NBU's soon. The low beam glass was NOT installed on site because i had to have the center of the lens cut out to get the full benefit of the projector. Easy breezy for a glass company. I installed the lens in less than 20 minutes, both sides =) I can honestly say, ive been telling everyone i know to send their retrofits to Lightwerkz, and trust me..any future retrofit needed i will be going to them! read more

Exceptional service and work! I contacted Lightwerkz because i was interested in getting my factory projectors (2006 Subaru Legacy) replaced with actual HID projectors, bulbs, and ballasts. Caesar was my contact at Lightwerkz, and he answered my questions, and presented all of my options to me, to help decide which route to take. At this point i was very comfortable with the information given, and felt the company was very knowledgeable in their trade/craft. So i went ahead and got the Maxima projectors with clear lens, with Denso Ballasts, and Philips D2S bulbs kit. I had brand new pair of headlights shipped to Lightwerkz, and they begun the work immediately. Caesar kept me up to date on the progress with photos, to keep me excited. Once they were completed, they were shipped out to me and arrived quickly. First Impression/Unboxing: The headlights looked completely FACTORY. HID bulbs were pre-installed, as well as the other custom harness made specifically to "Plug and Play" into my car. Then onto the HID components. These were OEM authentic parts, as stated, and also included a heavy duty wire harness, which requires (1) power connection to battery, and (2) grounds. Left and Right side. Installation/Hardware: As already stated everything was pre-installed/wired. All i had to do, was mount the ballast at my desired location, install the heavy duty wire harness, and plug everything into its proper connector. This was literally a "Plug and Play" installation. Only thing i went and got was extremely long zip ties to mount the ballasts. Other than that, you should not have to make a trip to the any hardware store. Light Output (THE GOOD STUFF): And my most favorite part. Firing up the HID's for the first time, against a wall and seeing that beautiful sharp cut off line, with crisp colors at the cutoff. I was drooling. Adjustment and fine tuning took me about 3 drives until i got the right height, without blinding anyone. Overall Experience: 5/5 Its been about 5 months, since i had installed these, and I would continue to do business with this company in a heartbeat. Talk about actually getting your moneys worth, and a lot of bang for your buck. The customer service and communication is excellent, the craftsmanship and parts used were all TOP NOTCH. Unfortunately it seems the quality of certain Morimoto/Profile(TRS) products have gone hit or miss. I've been having issues with their Profile Prism Demon Eyes(RGB driver) and their Switchback LED strips. Looked up Lightwerkz as an authorized dealer on a whim while going through the TRS RMA process and have been waiting for over two weeks to get a warranty replacement. While dealing with Caesar, I have been amazed at his patience and willingness to help with the issues I had. Even on the first time of meeting him, he was willing to help me verify the new LED strips that I have ordered from him before I left the door. Second time while ordering another set of Profile Prism Demon Eyes from Lightwerkz, I had issues with one LED strip not turning on. I thought it was the LED strip but upon yet again being helped by Caesar with troubleshooting - it was actually the RGB driver(I had three bad RGB drivers!). He was willing to replace with no questions asked. I really appreciated the professionalism, knowledge and attentiveness he has shown throughout. It really makes me wish I had ordered all my parts from Lightwerkz instead of going through the painstaking process of troubleshooting defective parts and dealing with waiting for a replacement. I highly recommend this business for all retro fit parts and service and will not hesitate in the future to buy parts again as well as retro fit services. read more

I have tried using ebay kits, other vendors and when it comes to it, Caesar knows best. Setting up the install went smoothly, timing was flexible even during holiday times. He was honest, professional, and timely. The install facility is clean and the he did a very clean install on our 2016 4runner. Amazing Quality of work, every time! Their Shop is located in Oakland, NJ. Once you step in the shop, you notice that it is VERY CLEAN. No tools all over the place, a nice waiting area, and even a 2 post Lift. It shows the attention to Detail that Lightwerkz has for every project. This is a professional shop that is well equipped to do retrofits, not some guy in his basement doing it for side cash that could disappear next week. I've had 3 experiences with the crew at Lightwerkz. Experience #1: The 1st time was with a set of headlights that were already retrofitted. Lightwerkz was happy to help me out even though they did not do the retrofit. It turned out to be a bad wiring harness so they were able to sell me one to make it back to 100%. Experience #2: Lightwerkz did a headlight retrofit for my bi-xenon BMW E46 M3 headlights. This retrofit was very simple for them as they have done many already. I was able to wait for the retrofit to be done. The output on the E46 M3 was pretty weak compared to other factory HID systems that weren't even projectors in my experience. The guys at Lightwerkz installed FX-R projectors and made everything from the factory work with the projector. The output was amazing! I wasn't sure from this day forward how I was going to drive at night with any other setup. The output was excellent, the cutoff was nice and clean/sharp. Experience #3: I purchased a 2013 Subaru WRX. I didn't want to spring for the extra $1000 dollars for the Limited model compared to my Premium model. The Limited model comes with Leather seating surfaces and Factory HID headlights. I really did not care for the factory leather seats, but I really wanted the HID headlights. Even though $1000 was a good deal for what you got, I decided to stick to my guns and let Lightwerks handle it for me. They have an Excellent OEM solution for the 2008-2014 WRXs. STI projectors can be fitted to the OEM housings. You also need to purchase the HID Bulbs, Ballasts/ignitors, and the wiring harness. Lightwerkz made the install AS GOOD as OEM just like my E46 M3. While doing the retrofit, I opted to do the clear lens option and also painted my housings a black chrome. No more chrome housings that came with the 2012+ WRXs! After it was all done, AGAIN, I had excellent output with a clean/sharp cutoff. So in summary, Lightwerkz is really a TOP NOTCH SHOP and I am lucky to have them close by. If I ever move, Lightwerkz is only a UPS shipment away to send my headlights for them to retrofit. I highly recommend sending all your lighting needs to Lightwerkz. read more

I ordered a pair of DD H11 SLF yellow fog lights for my Lexus RX350. One failed a few months later and they were quickly replaced under warranty by Lightwerkz staff. Then about 5 months later the other bulb stopped working. I emailed again to see how to proceed with the exchange of the second defective bulb. For many years, I have coveted a Lightwerkz retrofit. Back in 2008, I did my own headlight projector retrofit on my BMW E36, with what were at the time very good parts, but I just didn't have the skill to make a proper, adjustable, well-made system. I ended up selling the headlights and went back to my Bosch Euro halogen lights, which worked fine but never provided the output that I wanted. I refuse to run rebased HIDs in halogen projectors, so eventually I decided to do things properly, and get a Lightwerkz retrofit. In the intervening years, TRS has released a "retro-quik" kit that includes some FX-R bi-xenon projectors and a proper mounting bracket, designed to fit E36 ZKW/DEPO/DJAuto headlights. However, I did not want ZKW, DEPO, or DJ Auto headlights. I wanted the retrofit to be done in original Bosch lights, so I ordered a fresh set from Europe and had them shipped directly to Lightwerkz. The Lightwerkz crew had thought that Retro-Quik would work in the Bosch lights, but I was sketpical. Nevertheless, I had seen photos on Lightwerkz's site showing a retrofit done into a set of E36 Bosch lights, so I trusted that they could handle it. The lights took a while to arrive, and in the meantime Caesar and I agreed on a build - FX-R bixenon projectors, Osram Nightbreaker D2S bulbs, Hylux CANBUS ballasts, and Iris shrouds. As I suspected, when the lights arrived the Lightwerkz crew informed me that the Retro-Quik kit would not work, and that they would need to do a custom job for the mounting. It ended up being a little bit more money overall, but I expected that to be the case. I also asked Lightwerkz to wire everything (except the ballasts, obviously) internally back through the Euro headlight harness, so that I could just plug my Euro PnP adapter (which I made myself) into the back of the headlights and everything, including the little city light bulbs, would work as if it were OEM. They also wired up the bi-xenon function on the projectors, in tandem with the stock halogen high beams (which activate on their own when flashing someone, and activate in addition to the bi-xenon shroud when the low beams are on). Lightwerkz did a fantastic job, and it only took them a few days to do the retrofit once the lights arrived, and they shipped them out to me in a very secure and well-wrapped box quickly thereafter. After receiving them, I had a few questions about aiming and installation (mostly about how exactly the wiring worked), and they were very responsive and helpful. The output on these is insane - I didn't take photos, but the low beams, when aimed right, pretty much light up the entire road in front of you without blinding oncoming traffic. The cutoffs are sharp, and when the bi-xenon shroud is activated when you turn on the high beams, it's like daytime. These lights are ludicrously bright (especially since they are 35W), and the color temperature on the bulbs is perfect. Not too blue, not too yellow - a very nice white light. The quality of the projector retrofit is superb. Everything is well-sealed, professionally done, and looks great. The shrouds were installed well, and the projectors are mounted securely and can be easily adjusted using the stock adjusting mechanisms. Overall, I can strongly support the work that Lightwerkz does, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a projector retrofit, especially for a BMW E36 (even if you have Bosch lights that don't work with the Retro-Quik kit). read more

I came to lightwerkz to get my 2011 Sierra Denali headlights retrofitted with FXR projectors and paint matched to my white diamond tricoat paint. He did a great job matching the paint which is tough on a tricoat. The lights have amazing focus and output and best of all leak free, no moisture! If you consider yourself difficult to please because you expect perfection every time, I'm with you. I only take my vehicles to the best of the best. For any lighting related work around here, that's Lightwerkz. I've taken four of my cars to Caesar over the past 4 years for HID upgrades and/or headlamp amber removal. I've even had them install an aftermarket grille on my car while we had the bumper removed for another job. This wasn't out of convenience, mind you. I asked them to do this because, even though it's not their area of expertise, the work required a certain amount of attention to detail and I couldn't think of anyone better to trust with it. Over the years, I've come to recognize how meticulous Lightwerkz is in everything they do. If you're like me, there aren't many places that'll live up to your expectations. Well, I'm happy to report that Lightwerkz is one of those few places that will not disappoint you. It doesn't end with the high quality work, either. As a clinical professional in the medical field, I've found Caesar to be an excellent communicator who is as personable as he is professional. He values his relationships with customers and it shows in the way he interacts with them. Great establishments tend to be run by great owners, and this place is no exception. Initially had a problem with the morimoto mled projector being assembled incorrectly. But was quickly resolved by customer service.

Great company. Had projectors retrofitted to my current car and am happy. The guys them selves are great to deal with and accommodating. Zero problem with their installation or recommended products. I will be a returning customer and continue to use their services in the future. read more

My lights started getting moisture after 5 months of use, I will not recommend this guy to do anythign to your headlights. Is better to find a pro to get it done. read more

Maybe I was a little harsh on Lightwerkz. The issues are true but, I can understand that communication can get a little lost in understanding at times. Like I said, it might have been one of those days. I received mail from Ceaser president of Lightwerkz being dismayed about me being so unhappy and was more then willing to repair any work of theirs even after all these years. That was nice but, I've already bought new projectors etc from a local outlet and having it done here close to home where any issues can be taken care of quickly. I'm sure with all the good reviews that they do excellent work most of the time. read more
