I place a lot of weight on reviews. I would strongly recommend Lightning Bug Electric for any electrical service. The 2 service people, Sean and Steven, were excellent on this job. I had gotten an estimate from another company that was very unreasonably high, (which included a charge of $142 for that other contractor to use his ladder for the job). When Sean and Steven showed up, they were both personable and presented a very reasonable proposal, less than half of the other proposal. I agreed to the price and they went to work. I could tell immediately they knew exactly how this installation would work. They explained what they would be doing ahead of each step. My front porch ceiling is 17' high and they replaced a decades old existing hanging lamp with the new one. Even when Sean got up to the fixture plates at the top and realized the previous installation attachment had been installed wrong (many years ago), he made the changes necessary in the configuration and installed the new lamp to be much more secure and electrically sound. At all times both of the men were courteous, professional, and answered all my questions with patience and helpfulness. Sean gave me time to walk into my front yard and look at a couple of length variations for the lamp while he held it up at the ceiling. They both made it obvious they wanted to make sure I would be completely satisfied with the final result. They completed the job and took the old lamp so I didn't have to work on getting it to the trash. The entire project was done at a very reasonable price and handled very well from start to finish. I contacted Lightning Bug Electric to replace an existing, and old, floodlight with a Ring floodlight cam that I bought from Amazon, and was greeted by a friendly and professional customer service representative. She worked with me to get me a good service date and time as I work from home with frequent video conference calls. She contacted me the day before my appointment to let me know the technician had an opening in his schedule, and it worked for me as well. On the service date, I was given updates as to the technician's arrival, and he showed up at the appointed time. As with the customer service rep, the technician was also very courteous and professional. After confirming with me the details of what I requested to have done, he provided me with the estimated quote of the service. I agreed to the quote as it was in line with what I expected to pay, and considering the floodlight cam installation would be two stories up over a driveway, well worth the price! The installation took just under an hour as the technician had to make minor cuts into the soffit where the old floodlight was in order for the new Ring floodlight cam to fit. We called Lightning Bug Electric to help locate a mystery junction box for our pool lights that we'd been searching over a year for so that we could replace our broken lights (we've been in the house a few years - pool was built in 2006). We'd had other companies try to find the box but without success. Lightning Bug initially came out to look for the box and were here for several hours and even got into the pool to investigate the wiring but weren't able to find it. Disappointed, we gave a call to Lightning Bug and they wanted to make it right so had someone else come out for a few hours to continue the search. Tony came out on Friday and spent about four hours trying to follow the electrical current/ping, dug holes and kept trying (he filled them back in by the way). Luckily, Tony didn't give up and on a hunch, started to look between the stones of the outdoor built-in kitchen with a flashlight and finally found the junction box which had been built into the wall! We appreciated that Lightning Bug came back out and that Tony stuck with it and didn't give up! Great customer service. read more

Lightning Bug replaced several builder grade lights in our new home with nicer fixtures. Both Bobby and Jeremy were wonderful to deal with, and were quick, polite, knowledgeable, and cleaned up after the work was complete. They also carefully explained in layman's terms (simple enough that even I understood!) why lights in one room were flickering, suggested a whole house surge protector, and then gave us a very fair price to do it right then. We did not feel pressured to do so whatsoeverl, but made the decision to go ahead and do it based on their advice. And may I also say that the lady who answers their phones was really nice and polite.Really a pleasure to deal with a nice "human" who answered the phone, rather than a "press one for" phone system. I have used Lightening Bug Electric for various projects since purchasing our home 7 years ago. Their service has always been high quality and the technicians extremely professional. The most recent service call was a shining example of this. We did basement remodel and put in a shiplap accent wall; however, the contractor placed a power outlet too high on the wall to be useful (at my request doh!!). I called Lightening Bug electric to move the outlet without ruining the wall or using extra cuts on that expensive shiplap wall. The job was nearly impossible given how the wall was built. Steven from LBE came out and patiently worked out a solution which preserved the wall. The entire process took nearly 4hrs!!! Jeremy R. was my Technician and he was able to fix all of them in just a couple of hours. As it turned out only one problem was very complicated and Jeremy spent a good bit of time trying to figure it out. He talked to me about each step and was very, very helpful. Jermey didn't try to complicate any of the repairs nor charge me for things that didn't need to be done. The pricing that I was charged was very reasonable. We had them come out, due to a flickering light in the bathroom and some power surges. The technician James was honest with us about the problem. He checked our outlets to make sure they were fine. We got quotes on other things that we needed done and he gave us other scenarios based on wiring, so there were no surprises. He also let us know that getting a surge protector due to the age of our house and coding would be a waste of money without having a grounding system first. Definitely will be using them. We had a seriously dangerous light switch issue that needed to be fixed soon. They came out quickly to fix that and gave us an estimate for rewiring to our garage, putting in new garage lights, putting in new bathroom light fixtures, adding two new plugs and switching old plugs for grounded plugs. Great Job. The electrician (Jeremy R) was on-time, courteous, and knowledgeable. He replaced a worn breaker and installed a new dedicated 15A outlet. After that, I asked if he could relocate a coax outlet (not part of the original call) and he quickly took care of that too. All of the pricing was upfront (no weird extra fees, the tax was included in the quote, etc.). The job wasn't necessarily cheap, but well worth the price to get a true professional electrician to make some much-needed repairs/additions. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

We had them to come out because one of our breakers kept going off and leaving that part of the room without light. We are grateful for the team that came Bobby and James. Our original breakers had been poorly installed and the grounding wire was just hanging loose--it could have been a life threatening situation. Had an issue with an outside light. Called and made an appointment within a day. Tony the technicians was great. At the beginning of the appointment widow I was called to let know he was going to arrive towards the end of the window, which was nice so I didn't seat around for hours waiting.
