The rest of the PT places were booked already and this one had one opening left- so meant to be I guess. Luella was organized and perfectly gave instructions and how to navigate what to do with Medicare and the doctor's office. Grace was my mom's physical therapist and my mom said of all the places I have been to and therapists I had, she was the BEST I ever had! My mom is usually a critical person( like almost with everybody!) and not easy to get along with, so that is a real compliment coming from her! Lol! She said Grace explained everything to her in terms of exercises and even how to use her walker which she said not one person ever explained to her ever- not home PT, past surgeries, etc. So she liked this PT! Tips: Although they don't want people to really accompany the client into the office, note that the elevator door is very heavy so the elderly, disabled or one on crutches, walkers, etc will definitely need help with this door. So whoever provides the ride for the client will need to go in and help them go to the office and get the two heavy doors for the elevator. Second tip: Two parking areas next to each other- go for narrow second entrance right next to the building( wide expansive lot is for another complex). And note that there is a back entrance right across handicapped parking ( other side entrances are locked). We walked all the way around to the front and I told my mom, " Well, you got your therapy for the day even before you got to your PT visit!" Poor thing, lol! She agreed!

Thankfully located less than 5 miles from my house I can realistically show up twice a week. -- I was a interesting case- not your typical ortho rehab- rather damage to my femoral nerve vein. Grace's knowledge about anatomy has been profoundly healing for me. I am progressing weekly / and feeling more confident to walk. Can't wait until I can "run."

We were recommended PT for our 8 week old for torticollis. Had heard great things about Starfish,…read morebut was utterly disappointed in our 10+ appointments with Stacy (the owner). Stacy seemed irritated and distracted for almost all of the visits. I left most of the visits filled with fear that my newborn was not meeting its milestones because of what Stacy said or meant indirectly when my LO was not able to perform a skill. She was impatient enough to always leave the appointment after 20 mins, when my LO was tired. Even on repeatedly asking her to measure the asymmetry, Stacy would procrastinate it and say "next time". It looked like all Stacy was looking for was more future visits so she could get more money from us and the insurance. The last visit with us, she left us feeling flabbergasted after mentioning helmet and that my 5 mo failing to meet its milestones. I switched over to Mills PT in San Mateo and they cleared us after the second visit itself.

Joey (Joseph Livelo) was my physical therapist, and he was absolutely amazing in guiding my healing journey. Beyond being highly knowledgeable, personable, and easy-going, Joey takes a wonderfully pragmatic approach to care. He designed a program with exercises that were easy for me to stick to, thoughtfully evolving the routine as I progressed to edge me closer to full recovery. I genuinely looked forward to our weekly sessions! It has now been four months since my last visit, and I still do a set of the exercises Joey gave me every single morning to maintain my physical well-being. Beyond the excellent care from Joey, every single person I interacted with at the West Bay Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center was super nice and welcoming. As an added bonus, the office has its own parking lot, making visits completely stress-free. If I ever need physical therapy again in the future, I would return to West Bay Sports Medicine in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them!

So, here's the deal…read more.. I'm not one of those Burlingame trophy wives who has tennis elbow - I hurt my back slinging 80 lb. bags of concrete and 92.5 lb. bags of lye in a lumberyard at the height of summer in Georgetown, Texas. Your tennis elbow can suck it. That said, these people are effective at what they do. They make you work. You feel like you've done something that will actually help your condition, whatever that may be. This is unlike all other physical therapists where they have you do a couple stretches and maybe six minutes on a treadmill and you never break a sweat. Which is good. Further, Marie (I can't remember her name), is awesome at suggesting new activities and mixing it up so it doesn't get boring. They give you the tools you need to get better. What is not good about STA? They seem to double and triple book their patients so much so that the least amount of time I've spent there is one and a half hours. The maximum amount of time I've spent there is three hours and five minutes. My treatment on average takes an hour forty-five to three hours. The employees run around and bust ass, but they never seem to catch up. As someone who is working full time and is trying to make appointments after work to find a place to live in the Bay Area, this doesn't work for me. I can do an hour and thirty minutes, but any longer and it just feels gratuitous. Also, if you are going to take the time to put thirty-seven signs that say "NO WHINING" all over the walls, take your own goddamn advice and stop bitching about how you have sooooo many patients and you aren't gonna make it to the ball game. We have lives too.
